SPECIAL FEATURES

  • HANDGUARD

STRENGTHS

  • Duelist's Handguard - The OMNIS-series lightsabers featured a lightsaber resistant beskar-durasteel alloy handguard typically wielded in a crescent shaped configuration that provided ample protection to the user's hand during lightsaber duels against Jedi and traitorous Sith alike.
  • They fly now - The Omnitiate begrudgingly reverse engineered a method of flight utilized by The Inquisitorius of the first Galactic Empire, whereby an inquisitor could achieve vertical movement(and very limited horizontal movement while airborne) via force activated micro-repulsorlift which allowed a force sensitive being limited aerial control while spinning the blade.

WEAKNESSES

  • Impure Beskar - OMNIS-series lightsabers featured a handguard crafted from a blend of durasteel and Kainite supplied beskar looted and stockpiled following the despoiling of Moridinae, A byproduct of Darth Carnifex's influence over the organization's founding. However, the alloy was of a level of beskar meticulously calculated to maximize cost efficiency while retaining acceptable defensive properties, leaving it impure and prone to increased wear or damage during extended duels. Inquisitors were advised to perform maintenance often, although this didn't stop some from sharpening the bladed handguard.
  • They (don't) fly now - Despite the peculiar whimsy experienced by those few inquisitors fond of flight, the force activated micro-repulsorlift featured in the design of OMNIS-series lightsabers proved to be sluggish in untrained hands, with most flight enthusiasts only achieving practical results via use of force wind and similar abilities. Coupled with the inherent vulnerability of such methods of flight, this led to declining use of saber-enabled flight among Omnitiate inquisitors.

DESCRIPTION

With the death of Darth Strosius in the wake of a violent Kaggath, The Holy Inquisition of the Eleventh Sith Empire found itself torn apart by rogue followers of the late Lord Inquisitor. But out of that chaos, The Omnitiate was born.

Having cobbled together something new from the still warm ashes of The Inquisition, a new force was raised to bear arms in the name of a united empire, a force initially met with logistical challenges as new inquisitors were enlisted to the cause from across the empire. Masters became Inquisitors over night, and apprentices became their inquisitorial lackies. Imperial forges were commissioned to arm these new inquisitors in such an electrifying time, and it is from one such forge that the first OMNIS-pattern lightsaber was birthed.

The mother of these sabers is thought to have been Omnitiate founder's own apprentice —the experienced auxilary craftswoman and "tricksaber" enthusiast, Darth Anathemous. At the time of her induction into the ranks as High Inquisitor, the young darth created a prototype loosely based on designs of the ancient Inquisitorius, hoping to mitigate the challenges faced by acolytes and apprentices who were suddenly made inquisitors by proxy to their masters, such as her own student who was yet to construct he first lightsaber at the time they were both abruptly reassigned to The Omnitiate.

With this in mind, the prototype was submitted to Omnitiate command and was noted for it's attempt to tackle the disastrous design flaw of the ancient inquisitorius lightsabers, that being the vulnerable handguard, a weakness which the prototype sought to overcome by replacing the disc-like structure with pure beskar.

Once arrangements had been made with The Kainate to secure beskar looted from Moridinae, The Ominitiate Inquistor Saber-series, or "OMNIS-series" lightsaber entered service among the Inquisitorial ranks of Eleventh Sith Empire in the early 900s ABY period, quickly becoming a symbol of Imperial unity and wrathful judgement of heretics alike.
