Among the flesh-and-blood soldiers of the Empire are soulless automatons designed for the singular purpose of serving on the front lines of the Empire's many conflicts throughout the galaxy. Built to a non-descript humanoid design by the X'Ting of Ord Cestus, the OMYN-series battle droid quickly became popular as a staple supplementary battle droid of the Imperial Legion alongside the Scourge Mark I battle droid.
Advances in the fields of robotic warfare improved upon the standard humanoid design, offering the OMYN greater mobility and dexterity than previous droid models. A single photoreceptor adorned its almost conical head unit, creating a cyclopean facade that was designed to intimidate enemy soldiers and civilians alike. Duranium and agrinium armor plating made the OMYN battle droid especially durable and resistant to most conventional forms of damage employed by the Empire's enemies.
Though not intending to replace the organic soldiers of the Empire, the OMYN battle droid is purported to be produced in the millions over a period of an entire decade, with production continuing for the foreseeable future as the Empire plans for the next century of war against the enemy governments of the galaxy.
