On The Island of Misfit Toys (Siobhan)

[member="Siobhan Kerrigan"] [member="Anya Venari"]

This writer is totally going to beat Tegs's writer for making it confusing!

Galina tensed at the offered hand and the words spoken and shook her head quickly. "I ... I don't want to be alone." Her words carrying a rather fearful undercurrent with them. She'd been alone for so long, and right now, she didn't want to have to spend the night alone ... in a room, dark, with no one else there beside her.

The hug she accepted, and pulled Siobhan in tightly before letting go and turning back to her translator. The words spoken only bothered her more.

"Please ..." Her eyes glistening with the slightest hint of tears. "Can someone stay with me? I don't want to be alone. Just for tonight?" She glanced between the three women, hoping someone would save her from that. "Just not tonight, don't make me be alone tonight. " She spoke quickly, and most desperately to Chesna. "Please..." She begged as she reached out and took a hold of both

Siobhan was rather taken aback by Galina's sudden request and desperate tone of voice. She tried to suppress it, but internally she felt rather annoyed. After all, she had been looking forward to crochet. It was clearly safe here! She looked uncertain about what to do and looked first at Tegaea then Chesna.

Then she clamped down on the feeling and pulled Galina closer. For the record, this writer actually flipped a coin five times to determine her response. Apparently the coin thinks Siobhan trying to act gentle and maternal is in-character for her. What possessed the coin to think that is something that escapes this one. "It's ok, Galina. I can stay with you tonight," she said softly, stroking the girl's hair gently in an attempt to calm her as she pulled her closer.

Aww, you're so sweet. Foregoing kinky sex to baby-sit your adopted daughter.

She's not my daughter. Just helping, that's it. If this the moment for an internal rant about how terrible a choice I am, I'm not in the mood.

Just don't start crying when you inevitably screw up then. Best keep the part about how you slaughter and dismember people for the fun of it away from her. Y'know, bad role model!

Galina's writer should very well know by now that that was partly the point!

Regardless, Chesna dutifully translated. "Did you want me to come too?" she asked eagerly. Nothing like a threesome to get new people into things!

"I think that we shouldn't overwhelm Galina," Tegaea said firmly. "You can sleep in the bedroom next door in case anything happens," she added.

Chesna didn't argue. She smiled at Galina. "Siobhan will keep you safe. I'm next door if you need me," she said, heading from the room.

"I'm going to turn in, Siobhan. See you two in the morning," Tegaea said. She gave Siobhan a kiss, and Galina a gentle hug.

Safety was a relative term, in some ways Galina would have felt more safe under the stars in the twisted remains on a ship, than she did in a luxurious home with everything she could have asked for. This new home, was bound to take some getting used to for her.

Instantly Galina pulled Siobhan tighter as the woman drew her in, clinging to her as much as she could possible manage. The gentle stroking of her hair, worked to calm some of her tense feelings, and fears, getting the girl to cease her tears, and quiet her internal panic. Eventually the tenseness in her body would be felt relaxing against Siobhan.

"Thank you," She managed quietly, letting Chesna translate between them. "I just ... didn't want to be alone. New, strange place, and I don't know it. Just, need someone." Namely the girl missed her family terribly, but the nighttime always gave her fits. Dreams, nightmares both painfully haunting of a different time, a different planet so far from here, as well as the events that brought her here. "And thank you Chesna, hopefully it will be okay, but I never know."

Feeling much calmer, less fearful, the let Tegaea hug her gently and managed a slight smile to the other redhead. Reaching out slowly, she wrapped her fingers around Siobhan's hand, letting her lead her off to her bedroom.

"See you tomorrow, love," Siobhan eagerly returned Tegaea's kiss before gently leading Galina out of the dining room. The girl would be led down another level before they reached the guest area, where a room had been prepared for her. It was presumably a very big culture clash for the wild girl given how luxurious and opulent it looked. Two robes had been spread out for her on the bed as nightclothes, both of them chosen by Chesna so the measurements were exact. Oh, and, yes, they were covering, just in case someone might get the wrong idea.

There was also a bathroom next door so that Galina could get freshened up and clean herself. One assumed that at some point people in this Galaxy did actually do things like brush their teeth and such, but since that is not very interesting to write it's usually skipped in actual stories.

"Back soon," Siobhan said, gently squeezing Galina's hand to hopefully reassure her. The girl would be left alone for a few minutes and given time to make herself ready for bed. Moreover, Siobhan still needed to get something to wear. See, normally Siobhan slept completely naked. After all, the covers were very soft and she generally could enjoy the warmth of Tegaea's firemane, which was the best blanket anyone could ask for. There was also the fact that most of her robes were on the...rather revealing side or just plain transparent! However, she managed and eventually returned wearing a blue robe that in her estimation did a somewhat adequate job. Oh, and, yes, the robe did actually manage to contain her breasts, for contrary to what some people thought they were not that big! Even though it was quite likely that her frontal assets were most prominently poking against the soft fabric of her silk robe.

Galina followed along, letting Siobhan completely lead her by the hand as her eyes were draw to the walls, the art, the beauty of the place. Even back on Sigma 957, she'd never seen anything quite this elaborate to her knowledge.

Coming to the bedroom, the redhead wandered to the bed to see the robes that had been laid out for her. Slowly she ran a hand over both, seemingly rather drawn in by the fabric and feel of the robes.

Galina looked up hearing the words spoken, and squeezed Siobhan's hand gently in return. The girl understood, and watched as the brunette left her side. The young woman picked up the green robe from her options, and headed off into the bathroom. There she slipped off her clothing, which still felt so strange to her, compared to the furs she'd been wearing for so long, and slipped into the robe.

After she finished, somewhat cleaning up, well cleaning up to the best of her knowledge, the young woman returned to the bed, slowly pulling back the covers and slipping beneath them, but she shifted up, and remained sitting to await Siobhan's return. Her thoughts naturally drifted back to her homeworld, a place she may or may not see again. I wonder what it's like back on Sigma now. Are the wars over? The sickness? She sighed and pushed the thoughts away as she drew her knees up to her chest and pulled the covers up higher and tighter around her body.

Siobhan stood there for a moment, at a loss of how to proceed. You know the deal, tuck her in, hug her tight, say she's not alone. All the good things you wanted mummy to do, silly Sio. You're starting to really piss me off. You're the one with the issues and colossal neediness. I'm just a voice your own mind is conjuring up.

Finally she walked over and, after gently stroking Galina's hair since that seemed to calm her down, joined her in bed. She did so slowly lest the girl might suddenly get scared, and then pulled the covers over both of them. "Move closer," she said softly, patting the space close to her so that girl would understand if she had spoken too fast. Then her arms gently wrapped around the girl. The embrace was kept loose enough so that Galina would be able to disentangle herelf if it was not wanted, but the point was made. There was nothing sexual about it, in case anyone gets funny ideas, though Siobhan did make a good pillow.

"I'm...here. Not alone," she said very slowly before a mental command switched the light off.

Galina managed a smile with Siobhan stroking her hair. Such a simple action, that kept her calmer than most. She watched as the brunette joined her in bed, and at the motion of patting the bed, the wildling moved closer, and laid down finally beside Siobhan. Wrapping her hands around the woman's arms, she drew her in closer, trying to feel more comfortable.

As the lights went off, she jumped slightly, but soon enough settled down again as she closed her eyes. "N-not alone." She repeated. And for the moment, she felt safe for the first time in a very long time.

Hours would pass after the redhead drifted off to sleep. For the most part, the night was the most restful night she'd ever had, but that would all change just as the sun was beginning to rise. Galina fitfully struggled in her sleep, softly whimpering at first. Before long she started to cry out in her sleep, plagued by a nightmare.

Hours had passed since she had laid down before Siobhan was roused from a rather pleasant dream by Galina suddenly struggling and whimpering. Soon the poor girl was crying out, clearly in the grip of a nightmare. Acting on instinct Siobhan pulled her closer, though she tried not to make her grip too strong since she did not want to smother the girl. Unfortunately for Siobhan she could use the Force to soothe the girl the way Chesna would have been able to since she had zero skills in empathy.

But she could try and offer some comfort, though whether it would help was another question. "Galina, it's ok. You're safe," she said slowly and softly, placing particular emphasis on the last word as she spoke in what she hoped was a gentle and soothing tone. "You're not alone." She hugged the girl closer against her chest and one of her hands rubbed across her back, while the other stroked her hair in an attempt to help calm her down. "Away from the island."

Galina's eyes finally snapped open as she awoke gasping, and panting for air. It took her a moment of glancing around the room to finally put together that it'd been a dream. Tears flowed easily with the fresh and painful reminders of her parents and the crash, from her dream.

Without any resistance, she let Siobhan pull her closer. "Safe..." She muttered, the tone spoke volumes that she was trying to convince herself more than anything else. "N-not alone." The poor thing was trembling terribly, and shifted herself to wrap her arms around Siobhan pulling herself closer while she cried.
"Not alone..." She sniffled as Siobhan rubbed at her back, and her hair, somewhat managing to alleviate her fears.

"Ba-d-d ..." Stuttering, she stopped after that one word, as she searched her mind for the word for in basic for dream. But soon enough realized she didn't have it, but surely her reactions had told of what she'd experienced enough. "Safe...." Spoken with a little more confidence as she worked to push away the frightful images that still haunted her mind.

In response Siobhan hugged Galina closer against her body, in the hope that the embrace would help convince the girl a bit more that she was safe and no longer alone. That the days of being abandoned on a wild island full with threats were over for her. For the moment at least any doubts were banished from Siobhan's mind.

"Bad dreams," she finished, speaking slowly and feelingly before she reached out to gently wipe Galina's tears away while her other hand kept rubbing hopefully soothing circles over the girl's back. "I'm sorry. Brave girl, strong girl." At this moment she hated the fact that she did not have any skills relating to empathy or telepathy. It was a bit frustrating to communicate this way.

"I'm here, dear....for you," she added in what was hopefully a reassuring manner. Maybe Chesna could help her. After all, contrary to popular belief the woman's empathy related to more than just mindgasms. "Chesna...can...help you," she spoke extra slowly so that the girl would understood before activating the buzzer. Undoubtedly the elf would protest that it was too early in the morning to be early in the morning.

Galina cried still as Siobhan pulled her closer. The girl sniffled, trying to calm her tremors as the brunette stroked at her back. She closed her eyes, and lifted her chin just slightly to let Sio wipe away her tears.

She nodded to her, "Baa-d dre-aam-s." Testing out the new word. It was what she wanted to express and seemed to fit the situation. She pulled Siobhan tighter, burying her head into the woman's shoulder.

"Ches-na? Need Chesna." She said softly, knowing that to communicate well she'd need the Eldorai to help her out. "Help Chesna?"

Chesna objected to mornings on general principle. It was always too early, and unless the sun had some shine worn off it, she wasn’t happy.
When the buzzer first rung she burrowed under the quilt to drown it out. When it rung again she came blearily awake. Then, she remembered who the buzzer was for and got up, hurrying for the door.
She paused at the door. Chesna reckoned that Galina was probably the one resident of the villa who would be surprised and perhaps unhappy to see her stark naked. Running back, she pulled on a thin silk robe and rushed out the door and into Galina and Siobhan’s room.

Moving over to the girl, she laid a hand on the girl’s arm. “What’s wrong, Galina?”

A certain degree of modesty was something all of the members of the Kerrigan-Alcori household would probably have to get used to given the new clan member. In all likelihood this was easier said than done. This one fully anticipates Galina at some point walking in on certain nocturnal activities and discovering what it truly means to worship the Great Goddess.

Siobhan looked grateful at Chesna when she entered, for she knew how much the Eldorai hated mornings. For her part the Countess was not terribly fond of getting up early either! "She's been having nightmares," Siobhan explained softly, clearly wanting to help the girl yet unable to do so in this particular instance. There were a few things even a lioness could not shield her cub from.

The redhead looked to Chesna, as she still trembled. "I had a dream," She shifted to her own language but choked on the words before she could get the next part out, "About my parents...." It hurt her still, that they had not survived but she had. "About before we crashed here." Then the tears really started, "And then... the crash... I dreamed about it again." She clung tighter to Siobhan, and even drew Chesna into a tight embrace, seeking the comfort of both of them, "It won't leave me alone. I just want to forget. I miss then so much...."

Chesna pulled the girl to her and gently rocked Galina back and forth.
“She had a nightmare about the crash,” she translated for Siobhan.

Chesna looked at Siobhan thoughtfully. When she spoke next she did so they could both understand. “Alright, Galina, I can make the memory of the crash go away. You’ll remember it happened, but it shouldn’t trouble you again. I have that power…but I won’t use it unless you allow me to.”

Siobhan sighed slightly, hugging Galina and rubbing across her back in an attempt to soothe as she rocked the girl back and forth. For a moment she looked a bit...troubled. Playing with memories was a rather touchy subject for her, given what she had experienced on Alderaan. Even now after Mirien Valdier had saved her mind, there were still gaps in her memory.

Still, she trusted Chesna. Siobhan carried many painful memories of her own with her. But what she would decide if she in Galina's place was not the question. "It's your decision if you want to do this, Galina. But you can trust Chesna. She won't hurt you." Presumably Chesna would translate that for her via the power of space magic.

Galina happily let Chesna rock her back and forth bringing her some comfort from the fitful dreams. Siobhan's gentle strokes across her back, only helped to soothe the frightened girl. She needed that simple comfort right then.

As the Eldorai explained what she could do, the young woman glanced between Siobhan and Chesna both. It was a chance to ease the most painful memory of her life, the one that haunted her day in and day out. She trusted Siobhan's words first and foremost, and now was no different. "Please, please make it go away." She said softly. "I don't want to dream about it anymore." Presuming that Chesna would translate for her. "I just want to move on. It's not like there is anything I can do to bring them back anyway."

Since Chesna's writer is on LOA or some sort of nonsense like that, this one shall once again temporarily assume direct control! After all, she's an NPC and no one minded the last time. How dare you actually have that silly thing called a real life, Pete?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W7wLjQKyJjo
Anyhow, Chesna was so kind to translate Galina's words as she rocked the girl back and forth. Siobhan responded with a curt nod of assent. "You're a brave girl. You went through hell and survived all on your own. I promise things will get better," she said softly before planting a soft, gentle kiss on Galina's forehead. It was a kiss a mother would give her child as opposed to that of a lover. Siobhan would strongly deny it, but it was probably accurate to say that Galina was becoming the daughter she had never wanted, but now did not want to part with for anything in the world.

"I will not hurt you, dear. Lie down, Galina, relax. There will be no pain anymore." There was a soothing, melodic quality to Chesna's words, almost like that of a lullaby as she laid gentle fingers to Galina's temples. Immediately the girl would feel the powers of the demigoddess taking effect. In the hands of a true master mentalism was like an art, though there are those who use it like a hammer to beat the mind of anyone who gets in their way. But Chesna was different and had indeed sworn never to use her powers for violence. This one shall leave it to Chesna's writer to describe how she helped free Galina from her pain with the power of space magic. This one likes the idea of Galina's parents saying goodbye to her and telling her that they loved her and were proud of her. Apparently this one is feeling terribly mushy today but then a good portion of this thread counts as a Crowning Moment of Heartwarming.

This one apologises for actually having a real life, and begs forgiveness….

Regardless, as she knelt there, fingers resting on Galina’s temples. She started to sing softly after her last words, the language a very archaic form of Eldarai. Naturally in that language it would rhyme and sound much better, but Eldorai always thought that about everything.

Rest my child, for soon dawn will come.
Though night is long and fears are sharp,
The dawn will come, the light will come.
Forget your pain, forget your hurt,
For now the light will enfold you.
Rest my child, for soon dawn will come.

When she stopped singing Galina would be fast asleep. When she awoke she would remember the crash still but as an objective event. It would not hold such power and terror over her again. Instead she would dream about her parents, and be at peace.

On the bed, Chesna looked at Siobhan. “That will help her. Keep her covered with blankets and let her sleep.”
