One Dark Bar, One Dark Night

Coruscant, Core Worlds

Dok had the hood of his cloak up, though it was still the same Umbaran cloak he always wore, when he could get away with it. It was a cultural item, and the patterns of UV color on it were hidden to the majority of species. The chill in the air didn’t bother him even on the worst of days. Not because of anything Umabran, Umbara was a dark, humid, jungle world. No, he just enjoyed the cold. His lightsabers were carefully hidden, this wasn’t Sith Empire territory after all, and even if it was, it was better not to cause an undue ruckus just by walking around. He was only here for a few days, he wanted to see the city, and refuel before he headed back to Korriban to get to work on other duties. He’d only been to the city twice before, but he had a little bar in the underground he preferred. He also had, less well hidden than the lightsabers, but still tucked away, a I.M.D. Stub Blaster, it was a backup, and most situations could be solved with a blaster before he would ever need to draw a saber.

Ducking down into the bar, he lowered his hood as he walked in. He scanned the room, before taking a seat at the counter, and ordering a drink, putting down the credits for it without a word. He could probably trick them into giving it to him for free if he wanted, but it was a handful of credits for a drink, there was no need. He rubbed at the back of his neck, his ears and eyes silently watching the bar around him. Seedy bars like this always had information moving through them, and one never knew when something would crop up that they needed or wanted. Dok kept his force presence suppressed, he didn’t need anyone else knowing he was here if he could help it. While his ability to do this was relatively poor, every little bit helped. Most of the other seedy characters avoided meeting his eye, people down here generally stayed out of each other’s way. It was part of why Dok liked coming to The Thorn over other bars.

No one moves unnoticed in the Coruscant slums, especially outsiders. Not when the church's eyes and ears are the beggars and impoverished, the ones who were always watching, silently, from street corners and shady bar booths. An Umabran on this level was sure to grab attention, and it did, quickly spreading up the information highway set by Son's Vigil until hitting Seruka's ears. The news set an anxious feeling in her stomach. The church was moving fast and attracting attention, would this be the first on a laundry list of assassins come to take her life? She thought on this only for a moment as she prayed before grabbing her things and setting out.

Taking this stranger's life would be nothing to Seruka. She was an accomplished warrior and spellweaver, no simple bounty hunter would be enough to do her in. But if this was truely someone sent for her it was an affront to the church and had to be dealt with accordingly.

So she marched, a lightsaber in each hand and ready to take on the poisonous gas they emit with her mask. Armed members of the Flock followed closely behind, building in numbers as they all stormed toward the Thorn. It was a short walk to the bar and by the time they hit the doors the amount of Vigil members had reached 15, not including Seruka at the head.

She turned back, briefing them on the busy street before they entered. "Beloved members of the flock, ready yourselves to administer divine justice upon the patrons of this bar." She voice was soft and loving but her words were lethal. As she spoke flock members reached into their cloaks, pulling out their HC10A for all to see. "You are to take all of them, save the Umabran and the bartender, outside and execute them here in front of the people. If they fight remind them of their families and that they will be grateful for their sacrifice."

She spun around gracefully, again facing the door, and with a strong push tossed it open. Flock members pushed past her, flooding the establishment with masked armed men.

Dok nursed his drink, not drinking it quickly. He was here to relax, not much else. He was about to take another drink when the front door was pushed open with great force. His instincts kicked in, he vaulted over the bar in one smooth motion, drawing his hidden blaster. Armed people were storming the bar, they might not be there for him, plenty of different kinds of people frequented a place like this. He wasn't going to risk it though, and fired at the first one to come through the door. Bar fights weren't rare in a bar like this, and he expected many of the patrons to be armed in some way, it was why he liked places like this. Even if he carried a weapon openly, he wouldn't stand out that much. He was going to use the counter for cover, and dragged the bartender down with him. Didn't really care about the man, but more targets in cover meant less obvious targets. His blaster was loaded with the mixtures used by Umbaran's, giving it a distinctive green color compared to the reds and blues that were more common around the Galaxy.

Dok wasn't sure who they were, but they were dressed oddly, and definitely not police. This furthered his belief that they were there for him. He grabbed a bottle of alcohol off the shelf, he didn't have everything he needed material wise, but the Force would replace the missing materials. Taking the top off, he counted to three, before throwing it over the counter, guiding it subtly with the force into the largest group of armed strangers, and then used pyrokineses to set it ablaze, easily hidden among the blaster bolts, and other things flying around the room. Not the fire obviously, but what started it. His lightsabers were still hidden as he relocated behind the bar so they wouldn't be trained on his last location the next time he popped up to shoot.
