Popo Tallia Farn
Allies:
Alen Na'Varro
The chaos of the big bomb goin' off gave me enough cover to get back up the Temple Steps. The fight had spilled out everywhere and I found myself pushed back into a side entrance of the Jedi Temple. I managed to gun down the two Republic soldiers who'd been pressing me back, but I heard a bunch of commotion from behind. Whirling, I moved with my 836 in the low ready position, rifle butt at my shoulder, weapon barrel slightly lowered. With cautious steps I emerged into a courtyard where I found - I kid you not - a freaking Hutt in full armor using an electro staff to assault a figure I recognized. Arbiter Na'varro. Behind the Arbiter was a female Jedi. Sitrep? The Arbiter needed some help.
Getting down on one knee, I placed the upper part of my left arm on my knee. Bone on bone is a very bad idea when shooting. Try it sometime. Tell me how it goes. I raised the optics to my eye and centered the targeting reticle around the Hutt's faceplate. I was pretty sure I wouldn't be able to pierce armor that thick, so my best bet was to shoot for the openings of his face and hope that it either distracted him, or that the chemical flames from the 5.56mm FLARE slugs got inside. I squeezed the trigger twice and sent 6 of the hollow bullets filled with pyrophoric gels straight for the Hutt's face. On impact the pyrophoric gels would mix and ignite.
Pivoting, I readjusted my aim and squeezed off a three round burst at the female Jedi. I waited half a second then fired another three rounds. The butt of the slug-throwing rifle kicked satisfyingly against my shoulder in a way that blasters never did. The half second pause was so that if the woman countered the first three bullets she'd have to counter the second wave of three too. The important thing was that I was providing a distraction for the Arbiter, giving him enough time to do whatever he needed to do. "
