Operation Guilty Spark (Silver Jedi Order)

"Clear!" Lowder spat out after taking a separate direction from the group to cover the other end of their landing area.

"Clear." Valkren responded to his callout, almost instinctively, making sure the entire team got the message.

Didn't seem to stay that 'clear,' for long though. The sound of blasters were faint, but it was an easy pick up for Calderon. The sound was too-familiar to him. In a quick motion, he'd direct the group of heroes towards the door that seemed to lead into the corridor in which the noises grew louder. In any other situation, he'd take more time to analyze the situation, but now they seemed to be short on time already.

If the droids had breached the survivor's location, then it was only a matter of time.

"Lowder, get the door. Everyone ready!"

While Lowder moved to his position, the colonel would wait for everyone to stack up and prepare before giving the signal.

Lowder had originally expected to have to slice the console for them to gain access through the door, but ended up huffing in surprise. He pressed the button, and the door opened simple enough.

"Someone's making my job easier for me." The specialist joked at this as the doors open, only to reveal two L1 Marinus series battle droids, wrist mountaineer laser weapons already leveled at whoever was first sighted at the doors.

The colonel and specialist ducked the initial two rounds from the droid pairs' lasers, quickly gunning them down with their weapons with a series of precise shots with the help of their heads-up-display and their own skills. The machines crumpled to the ground, revealing an extended hallway beyond the motionless machines. A stun turret rested at the far end, in front of a door that he figured they needed to get past. Several other Marinus series droids stood between them and their destination as well.

The colonel moved into cover immediately as the squad-or-so of droids took notice of the new arrivals, beginning to engage the band of heroes.

"Well, let's get to it!"

"Clear." Caelag's hands slowly released her sword as her voice confirmed she felt the same as the others had seen. Nothing in the hanger that would become a problem. The magnetic locks of her weapon sealed shut as she kept pace behind them, her right hand retrieving the ranger SMG from where it rested, flicking the safety off before the left hand reached and retrieved the lighter Roona had given the Miralukan woman. While her sword might be the only longer range weapon she had brought, amusingly enough, once they moved into the halls there would be no room to swing it without risk of hitting someone.

So this would do.

She stacked to the side of the door, focusing on what would lie beyond it. Droids of course, though her senses had barely managed to pick them up before Lowder mentioned the door being, really, unlocked. It slid open, and to their credit the Colonel and Lowder handled themselves capably, masterfully really, as the bolts slammed into the droids to clear a visible path forward.

The Colonel gave his order, effectively, to move out, yet Caelag stayed still, back pressed to the wall as she noted everything. How the team moved, how the droids and turret moved, where they all took aim. How many there were. IT was all necessary, considering she had to move close to really be within effective range with the SMG, and her fire would need a clear path towards each target.

Calculations were swift, and the woman took a small breath before speaking to the Colonel, Lowder, and the rest with a calm, almost detached tone to her voice. "It will be some moments before I will be within effective range for my weapon. At least for the blaster, I will be of little help until the distance gets closed." She opened the lighter, and thumbed it gently, making it spark and ignite its little flame.

That flame slowly warped, wrapping around her hand as the lighter itself was closed and put away with the Force, giving her time to expand the fire until it wrapped around her hand and forearm. She was a soldier, and wielded every weapon she had as necessity demanded. So it wasn't a surprise she took this course of action, at least if anyone had expected it.

She ducked down under a shot that would've hit her directly as she turned the doorway's corner, the flames intensifying in the heat of a moment. The droids were a bit too far to trust her weapon's spread for anything significant, and so to draw the attention of the droids and relieve the doorway of some suppression fire, she would rely on the Force. The flames in her hand swirled for a moment, and with a solid punch before she took cover behind a 'pillar' of the hall a small ball of flame was sent with great speed towards the droids.

Would it hurt them? Maybe. But it certainly would help get everyone to move forward, right?

Gripping her rifle, she followed the group as it advanced towards the door, towards the sound of blaster fire. Her head turned every few steps, just to watch their backs. However, it seemed that the action was currently inside the corridors up ahead. Watching as Lowder got into position by the door, Roona would settle where she was – gun raised and eye pressed to the scope.

Even if she was no Jedi, the force sensitivity within her was enough generally to have a slight sense of the enemy presence. This occurred during most of their missions, but this time it was different. There was no spark of life to feel from these droids, only a sense of emptiness.

The marksman held her fire as the first two rounds came, easily avoided by Colonel Calderon and Lowder. Those two droids were dropped quickly, revealing a rather long hallway. Of course, this place was not left defenseless. The crumpled droids on the ground were only the beginning.
Roona cast a sharp eye in Major Vass’ direction, watching momentarily as the Miraluken woman ignited her silver lighter. Green eyes widened behind her dark visor, the flame seemed to wrap the woman’s hand. It was an ability like she’d never seen before, but this really wasn’t the time to sit and watch. Moving up, she prepared to do her job. At that same moment, Major Vass’ attack took flight – a ball of flames.

Taking the chance, Roona squeezed the trigger of her sniper rifle.

With the small turret in her sights, she drew a breath. Unshakable focus was needed to pull the force around her bullet as it fired, and quick reflexes worked to curve it gently. She heard a small ‘ping’ in the distance, but knew that one shot wouldn’t be enough to disable it completely.

But for the time, she was forced to return her attention to the advancing droids.

Gi Gregain

Project Herald Super Soldier
THe sound of battle came to her and she was moving, first to a small area of cover and then stepping out while the others seemed to be attacking and Gi brought the rifle up. The energy wrapped slugs coming out as they had a steady stream of fire but were made for distance. She was moving and using her size to make her own coverf while the AI was pointing out the others fighting. It brought her attention around as she moved quickly grabbing a droid and turning it into a shield to smash another. Rifles shots tearing into another as the energy wrapped slugs were made to overwhelm shields and then metals. AI assisted aim to keep her precision and strength to prevent the minimal recoil of the partial rail rifles. "Engaging."

Audren's exit from the transport was more nonchalant. He wasn't one of the first down the ramp, he had the luxury of being a slight bit more relaxed; if there had been opposition the guns would have been chattering like mad. That wasn't to say he was totally cavalier about it, he carried the unlit lightsaber hilt in hand.

As the team stacked up against the airlock door, the Sephi's mask lit up with an alert. He gave it a frown, but that didn't do much to the simple piece of machinery. So as the door opened and the gunfire started, he was pulling off the mask and poking at it. The Jedi was by no means a tech genius...not even a stretch of the imagination could fit him into that mold. He did run a company that did some interesting things with technology though, and had picked up a few tricks here and there. Eventually, he managed to sort out and fix the problem, he would actually get air now instead of having it taken from him. That would have been awkward.

Despite most of his attention being on his technology, he didn't miss the fact that the others were shooting - or in Caelag's case, flinging fire - down the hallway at their opponents. Further down the hall several bipedal droids, some floating units, and what appeared to be a fixture of some sort spat what had originally been intended as defensive fire. Given the distance it wasn't quite easy, but with a flick of two fingers one of the droids twisted fifteen degrees at the hip as it began to fire it's wrist-mounted blaster. A burst of rifle-powered bolts walked up the torso of the second droid.

A flash of Force-based insight showed that a third droid had just fired a small rocket of some type. Audren's left hand moved to a flat vertical, visualizing what he wanted the Force to do. It was a small target, but the rocket was built to detonate on contact rather than proximity: when it slammed into the short-lived Force wall it detonated. The concussive force and shrapnel would hopefully compound the damage the others were doing.

If there was a central program running everything, it might not have been the wisest idea to reveal Force powers so quickly. Then again, if that central program had any brains at all, it would have run the probabilities once seeing lightsaber hilts and directed fireballs. Best to thin out the opposition now with standard tactics and move to the clever ones later.

Corporal Caphey along with half the squad lined up against the wall to the left of the door which Lowder begun slicing, before the door opened by itself and Lowder and Calderons quick reflexes was put to the test. When they had returned the fire and taken care of the first two droids it was time to advance - attack was said to be the best defence. Being first in line after Lowder and Calderon he followed on into the hallway and the rest of the squad followed tightly behind, returning fire and covering their comrades through their advance. Next thing they knew a ball of fire hurled down the corridor by Vass.
