Hearing the cries of war within the city and up above in the sky, Connor knew this was a battle they had to win. Or rather, he had to in order to prove a point.

Looking at her unique purple blade and her stance, the Jedi was ready to fight. Connor pushed back his cloak and withdrew the lightsaber taken from Lord Abyss and ignited the crimson blade for the first time in a battle with a Jedi – a Silver Jedi.

The crimson blade represented so much more now, and it hummed violently like a wild beast in his palm.

"Take me to Coci and I’ll be as peaceful as you want me to be,”

He started to her, walking and spinning the blade back and forward, scorching the ground as he did and melting the snow as he did.

And without warning, he shot forward to shoulder barge her back off her feet.

She would hold back for now, for two reasons really. One, she was curious to see how Connor would handle himself in this confrontation. She hadn't really seen how he could handle himself in a fight before, and she wanted to see where his abilities currently stood. He also needed to do this himself, fight a Jedi without interference. Sith might not be above cheating, but her mission outline didn't mention getting into a fight unless he was in danger of death or serious injury. Her second reasoning was it gave her time to analyze another Jedi for data.

So, no lightsaber ignited yet, she would stand back and watch the coming duel with some interest. Her probes would float around her, each one recording the fight for both herself and her master to review afterwards.

Claire looked disgusted with that answer. "So that's how you protect? With fear? Where does that leave you at the end of the day? I know where I'd be, Alone and ashamed of myself." The padawan as she got into her stance. It looked like he was done playing around. "You can forget about me joining you. I'll never betray my friends. Now get out of here or come and get me!"

Fear? Who had made any mention of fear? He would've shrugged. Instead, he just pressed the ignition button upon the lightsabre. The orange beam came to life with the tell tale Snap-Hiss and then he shook his head. "Then you'll die." He hadn't activated the blade since acquiring it on Kaeshana. It felt... Odd. He'd have to fashion his own soon, likely after the Sith Order was done on Midvinter.

To start, he swapped his lightsabre to his right hand, and with his left, he made his attempt at wrenching the girl off the very earth she sought to protect while he used the Force to amplify his speed and senses, as his lightsabre came in quick and dangerously, threatening to split her in half from hip to shoulder.

She could feel the force around herself and there was [member="Jericho"] and [member="Honoko"] who were prepared. Seeing parts of it when she twisted with the rifle itself going around. With the others here she could see some of the fights on the wall that were happening now. More of the padawans were getting involved as far as things went as well as some of the jedi. The different groups were still sending to the others as she could see where they had cleared more of the streets. Keeping up the pressure before she let her senses flare out with the force while she was going and she was listening to [member="Claire Ouron"] from the comlink. Attention to the young padawan who was being confronted until she was not as certain about some of the things here. She knew well the power of fire and there was far more to it when you thought about it. She also knew the jedi master of the young girl and she also knew how much trouble there would be from the disappointment in it. "Padawan Ouron." Willa said it while she was walking and working to make it so the channel was private thanks to the comlinks Son-Jan had made for them. "Listen and don't react to me. I can give you a little in the ways of fire and the darkside with more knowledge then most of these things would even have."

She remained focused and ready for anything they might be bringing out to her. Information from the others when she spoke. "Fire is dangerous, it destroys and burns. It has been used by the darkside and others to destroy countless times... and it is essential to the world. It is what got you human's out of your caves, taught you how to evolve and cook meats, to fight back against the monsters. When it is controlled it can be a powerful tool that protects life but it must be in balance. What the darkside does is take the good of the element and twist it into something out of balance, turn what was used to protect into something that torments." Her eyes were glowing in the helmet a little golden as she was vahla, two things you rarely tried to debate was the darkside and the power of fire. A look at others as she knew how to purge heretics from them and her hands came out as she moved controlling and working with the flamer units who were moving through it. "The darkside is destructive and corrupts the body and minds of all who use it, you are not weak willed like many of the others; THe jedi fighting for the sith here or just using the darkside because they decided to fight and don't have any fallback aside from getting angry." Her eyes looked forward with some more interest in the area.

"Plus padawan Ouron you know the history. Thousands of years of the sith, of dark jedi, of the darkside being nothing but evil and wicked. If it was so ideal, if it was such a proper way then the galaxy wouldn't resist it, people wouldn't resist it. Atrocities carried out in its name by the ones who preach its superior power but cannot extinguish the lightside of the force any better then the jedi can just get rid of the sith. The jedi just don't constantly tell themselves or others how great they are. Just that the darkside is not stronger then the light." Which it wasn't when she moved going up towards the wall and seeing Honoko where some of the were working on things. Jericho was out there with the two other jedi masters who were there preparing and fighting. She could see a lot of the ranger's when she saw some of the units itself. They had the massive millipede walker that was patrolling around and using its massive sie to run down and smash graug under its massive walker heels. Willa stayed there for a moment when she was looking out towards the walls and seeing more of the ranger's who were setting up everything for them. She knew a few more of the danger's as proximity were showing that more were arriving and the turbolasers were primed and firing.

The killzones were there ready for use when her mind was racing. She could hear a little more from Claire and the girl was speaking which was brave. There were some others before she was coordinating and came around a corner of the wall firing a shot into someone. Letting her body be guided and the mag pellets themselves become encased in fire when she let the shots go freely. She was moving through with the force as information came to her screen so that they could see. The heralds and her ghost snipers were set up, their powerful movements giving a lot of the better more enhanced and powerful forces. A blast from a rocket launcher as it detonated sending some of the enemy troopers into the air when she stopped standing still on one of the rooftops. Cloak in the wind before seeing some fo the bears smash and slash into the things coming after them. She wasn't certain about what would happen with the padawan but they had combat medics who could save her and heaers. Plus her master had sent the triage class which was launching its runners that were able to bring up and get quickly patients where they were needed to heal them. Others were being brought down for them to use when the sounds around her in the helmet were being picked up and she could see Honoko.

EASTERN GATE OF THAINBROEK
MIDVINTER

While nodding at Lyra's decision, Vitor then glanced at Jorryn who had a different choice on the matter. The former had already hit the throttle to her own speeder bike while the young businessman had decelerated the closer they got. Keeping their distance from the bear with a warhammer, he let the light hair colored woman hop off his vehicle and gave her an understanding nod.

"Do what you must, Jorryn." Vitor stated before the engines of his speeder roared leaving the acolyte and the scenes that unfolded behind him.

Avendahl's own bike soon caught up with Lyra's and the duo were already in close proximity to the gates. Upon the eastern gatehouse, figures seemed to be engulfed in violent action. Vitor did not zoom in with his visor to get a better glimpse but prepared for something erratic.

They had to reach the top of that wall and the acolyte remembered the basics of his blackblade guard armor. A grappling hook on his wrist would be his key of toppling the gate. Although Lyra seemed prepared, at least more than Jorryn, Vitor was not sure if she had any way of joining him up there.

:: I have a grappling hook on my wrist. If you have no other way of getting up there, you will have to jump upon me when I give you the signal. :: Vitor broke the silence through the comms. Lyra probably had figured out that their speeders were goners. There was no way they could slow down and not risk being struck by some defenders. The duo had to leave their speeders crash into the walls. At least, that was what Vitor's plan was.

If Lyra did not have any other way of getting on top of the gates other than the suggestion Vitor gave her, the young acolyte would move his own speeder closer to hers the closer they got to the gate. When the moment was right, he would propel his grappling hook forward onto the edge of the gate and let it pull him off the bike towards the top of the gate while leaving the bike to crash into flames in the walls of the city.

Upon the gates, Vitor would find a trio of Jedi battling a very familiar face.

Thengil!

The same Cathar that slew the Jedi on Yutan that the blue bladed lightsaber in Vitor's hands belonged to. The blue blade materialized in his hands and Vitor wondered if Thengil would recognize him despite the former donning the armor of the Zambrano's notorious Blackblade Guard.

For Imperia, the slaughter was a religious experience. Make no mistake, it was an act of sport as much for her as it was for her companions, but it was also so much more. Each scream that filled the air before being cut short was a testimony to the power of the Darkness. Each murder was a work of art, each life snuffed out an offering made to the source of Power that flowed through Imperia's body. The screams and whimpers that filled her ears became her holy choir, the scents of charred flesh and spilled blood, her sacred incense.

Such religious devotion was, of course, a lie. Make no mistake, Imperia believed it to the core of her blackened soul, but it was a lie all the same, one told so that she might retain some semblance of sanity in the face of her own monstrous nature. She was a sadist of the highest order, a being that gained not only pleasure, but power from the suffering of others. Power that, as it turned out, was about to prove very useful. The Knight felt it in the same instant her companion did - the unmistakable, obnoxious light that marked a Jedi's presence in the Force. Breaking away from her danse macabre with Aria, Imperia ignited her saber, fully prepared to add another body to the pile.

Crimson ligthning danced along Imperia's left arm as the Jedi made herself visible. It shrank, slowly, concentrating itself upon her palm, ready to arc forward and char the Light-Sided Fool's flesh. Then something unexpected happened - Aria and the Jedi began conversing. Ah, so they knew one another. Old friends, perhaps? Well, Jedi didn't truly have friends, not in the same way that any other creature had friends. Still, it was an interesting chance for Imperia to see if her companion had truly severed ties to her old life.

"Tubal, shush. One needn't be rude, even to their enemies. Aria, dear. Would you like this one to yourself?"

Lynn stood there as the Force consumed her. The meditation bracelet her Master had given her which only helped her stay calm and focused even in the heat of war. She watched his methods before replying, "I am young, but not naive. I know why you want to see the woman who severed your connection of the Force and if you want her, you must go through me." Lynn waited patiently, not moving, but studying his actions. Most assumed when spinning a lightsaber it was showing off, but it was really stretching the wrist and loosening up preparing for combat.

Lynn waited, on his approach, being careful not to move or react, she saw with every step how much weight he was putting into them due to the snow which was suggesting his movements were heavy and reckless meaning he was going for power over speed. Her farsight showed her his first move would be a shoulder barge. She would react by side stepping and with her palm she shot it forward at the point of his shoulder with a Teras Kari technique called the striking sarlacc. It was a subtle move with enough force to dislocate the shoulder.

This was not going well at all, everything Tyluko did to try and help [member="Catherine Soja"] appeared to end up backfiring and only ended up making things worse. He wanted to help, he wanted to do all that he could but it seemed that he was simply just getting in the way. "What am I doing? Nothing I do works, come on come on, focus you are a Jedi." he told himself. He let the currents of the Force wash over him in an attempt to calm himself, but the constant commotion around him made it difficult. The Force seemed to be pulling at his mind in a multitude of was; somewhere off in the distance he could sense ripples in the Force rough and violent like a the ocean in a violent storm. He now realized that whoever had made the voices that he had heard earlier were now engaged in combat with each other....one guardian of light ([member="Xander Carrick"] ) and two agents of darkness ( [member="Matsu Xiangu"] , [member="Korog Zordaal"] ) he wondered if he should go over and attempt to assist the other Jedi, for it seemed that the Force was calling him that way. But suddenly new ripples started to form in the Force; dark ominous ripples, and they appeared to be coming from [member="Vitha Sat-thuron"] and Tyluko knew all to well what that meant. He could feel the anger and hate bubbling around the Avogwi like a geyser ready to blow "Vitha, what are you doing?!" Tyluko yelled to her, trying to snap her out of it. But he was interrupted by the arrival of another agent of darkness, this one clad in some sort of ominous black armor. ([member="Vitor Avendahl"] )

Tyluko muttered under his breath "Spirits be with us" He spoke as he rose his sword.

The girl moved, and in missing his target he hunched his bod up and tensed, and her strike landed right in the middle of his shoulder blades, knocking him forward and stumbling in the snow to his knee.

He stared down at the snow and felt the embarrassment and frustration boiling up along with the dull ache in his back – embarrassment as a hit by a low level Jedi, and frustration not having more power to take her down. All brought on by HER hiding up top.

Connor span up and faced her and held his blade out.

"Foolish girl.”

He edged forward, taking it slow and steady, watching and feeling her movement. Watching her stance and her body. Reining it all back to a more careful and calculating approach rather than heavy strikes.

He span the blade once more in a 360 move and lunged forward bringing it down to cleave her in two – he wanted to get her engaged in combat.

Sorel stood impassive. Patience had latterly become one of her virtues and she could wait as long as it took to resolve the current situation. In fact, a slower pace tended to indicate lower temperatures. As a rule at least.

Her eyes remained on Aria, her face calm and her lips forming an ever so slight smile. A friendly sign.

Her arms remained folded across her chest and her breathing was regular. She could just as easily be waiting for a shuttle connection as being in the middle of what was rapidly becoming a warzone.

She heard the voice to her side. Clearly Aria had companions – although that didn’t mean she was necessarily with them for the long haul. But her gaze remained on Aria. So far the Force had not indicated she needed to act, so she hadn’t.

The ball was proverbially still in Aria’s court.

The unease one feels when someone so powerful in the corruptive dark side of the Force draws near is, for most people, utterly terrifying. For Thurion, it merely gave him pause in his relentless slaying of Sith now littering his surroundings. He trampled their broken bodies with total disregard, and his once-polished armour and clean tabard carrying the blue and gold of House Heavenshield were both now stained in the blood of his foes. His hair laid matte against his head in a mix of sweat and blood. Watching [member="Darth Prazutis"] butcher his people ignited his Valkyri lust for battle, and so he raised his sword Snowfall and issued forth a mighty battle cry before he - aided by the Force - leaped high into the air to meet the charge of the Sith Lord propelled by his jump pack head on.

The average Valkyri blade may give way to the supreme and twisted craftmanship of Daesumnor, but his was far from just any ordinary blade, and so steel struck against steel mid-air with Thurion grabbing hold of the lesser Zambrano. As Prazutis' jump pack started succumbing to the sheer weight of these two titans of war, Thurion intended to steer their inevitable descent towards one of the abandoned buildings away from the immediate fighting so as to prevent further casualties at the hands of the soul-sucking blade the Sith Lord carried.

The two crashed through the roof and smashed through wooden beams until both Jedi and Sith hit the ground hard, now closed off from the rest of the battle raging on in the background. Thurion shook off the momentary daze caused by the impact and got back up on his feet, summoning his sword into the palm of his hand. "Braxus," he spat his name, as if utterly disgusted with it. "I see Kaine no longer deems himself worthy of facing me in person. Instead he sends his lapdog to do his dirty work for him." The Grandmaster then nodded to himself as he watched Prazutis get up on his feet, his face etched in stone. "Very well, then," he said as he held out his blade towards the Sith Lord.

"Have at thee."

She had had enough of the banter, either he would come out of his ship or he would not and there was simply no way she would have ever enter his ship to find him. She did not fancy the idea of walking into a cage.

Death.

It was all Calder could feel as he ran. The Force, the Spirits, it didn't matter which he viewed it as, the stench of death had simply wrapped around him. Someone or something that bathed in the Dark had come, and it's overwhelming stench sent a shiver down the large bear's back. The sound of an engine woke him of this fear though, and as he turned he saw a speeder without a rider coming right his way. There was no way to dodge it, not at this speed, so all he could do was stop his run and turn, swinging the Icehammer.

The hefty weapon slammed into the side of the speeder just as it reached Calder, and with a roar he sent the machine flying to the side. For the first time since he left this planet and found himself in cramped spaces, he was thankful for his size. Now, for the rider. His armor shifted on his fur as he turned to face the man who had been riding the speeder, and the feeling of death once more took over.

Fear crept it's way along his spine as he stared at the bone masked Sith. There were no spirits around him, they seemed to die before they got too close. Icehammer could only clench his grip on the weapon he was named for, and stand there. Fear kept him still, unable to charge his armored foe.

"You were there to take something that did not belong to you."

The two clones materialized into one as she spoke of meeting halfway. Well, if it succeeded in getting her out of the city then he saw no reason not to do it. Considering he'd been trying to draw her out all along, it was a small victory for him. Also meant that he didn't have to go into the city and find their civilian populace and start slaughtering them as vengeance for Korriban. That put him more at ease. They hadn't come there to conquer the world, but to strike a blow against the Jedi themselves. That was something he was going to have to point out to certain Sith Lords who had unleashed Graug and Vong on the world. That sort of thing was purely unacceptable.

"Very well. Meet me halfway."

With that, the apparitions would disappear altogether.

Back on the ship, Leos opened his eyes. He looked at Arus and Milan and then stood to walk to the door, deactivating his saber and sliding the dagger into a holster at his back. Stepping out, the two felines followed him as he headed through the ship and out of it into the snowy world beyond. Immediately he was flanked by two of his Vermillion Guard, they likely expecting to be going with him into the city. Perhaps they thought that a victory had already been won? He wasn't sure, but he did know that wasn't quite the case, so he waved a hand at them dismissively.

"Captain remain with the ship."

"But, sir. We can't assure your safety if we do."

"I will be fine. Arus and Milan will protect me if things go sour, I assure you. Keep the ship protected and be ready should we need to leave."

"Very well, sir," the Mirialan Captain said, sounding both worried and defeated at the same time.

It was not his preference to leave them behind, but he'd called Coci out, and marching into battle against her with his Vermillion Guard was not on the agenda. So he trudged through the snow with the Maalraas at his sides, though he quickly snapped his fingers and sent them off to blend into the snow, utilizing their cloaking abilities to hide themselves from sight and mind. They would be there, but they wouldn't come unless he called them. A contingency for his well-being, more or less, at least for now. He did intend to face Coci alone, after all. As he walked to meet her, his thumb hit the switch to change which crystal was activated in his saber, moving the Vexxtal crystal into the active chamber. His armor shimmied through the snow, making him appear to glide slowly. If not for the red glow he might have blended in. Still in the pouch, waiting to be drawn upon if necessary, the Skull of Mythos.

The rage he felt burned, but he had become slowly used to it ever since acquiring the skull. For now, Coci was the center of that rage, and vengeance for the loss of their people on Korriban was the goal. How to stop rage from destroying you 101: focus it on a goal you are actively attempting to achieve. And when it was over, he would lock the skull away again, taking his reprieve from it.

At the halfway point he stopped, stood, and waited.

He spared the acolyte [member="Jorryn Fordyce"] a cursory glance before his attention focused back on [member="Calder Icehammer"] who had so deftly battered away his bike, the machine tumbled end over end before burying itself in a nearby snowbank. The beast held in his hands a massive war-hammer encased in shimmering ice, a dangerous weapon for even a Dark Lord of the Sith to contend with when wielded by such a massive creature.

But he was unperturbed, the Force was with him.

In his right hand he held aloft his runeblade Derriphan, and in his left he gripped the shaft of Upraetor iv Kiztaga and the feeling of fear that Calder felt slithering up his spine was magnified by the Skull of Gaius Zhuta. He said no words as he advanced, the Dark Side palpably swirling around his muscular form as his casual stride evolved into a charging sprint, the snow parting as he thundered down the plain towards the massive Beorni.

He thrust out with his staff, a cone of telekinetic energy slicing through the air that crackled the ground as it passed and was on a direct collision course with the Jedi. The Dark Lord was significantly smaller than the Beorni, but he was stronger in the Force and this initial thrust was only the preliminary strike. He raised his staff up at an angle and thrust out with his blade to cut a horizontal swath at Calder's midsection, a shield of energy forming around his staff to act as a defensive measure against the Beorni's massive hammer.

"Of course."

Aria had made no secret of her intentions when Imperia had invited her along for the ride; she hadn't come to Midvinter for the sake of the Sith, or for any other purpose besides a personal vendetta against the Jedi. She stood alongside the Sith, of course, but it was just as Sorel had said - Aria fought on Midvinter today for herself. Selfish, perhaps, but that wasn't as much of a problem as it perhaps ought to be.

The others caught her attention. Indeed, entertaining a conversation with a Jedi Master in the midst of battle would come across as rather suspicious, but this would likely prove a harder fight. If she was going to most probably lose a fight, there was no reason to begin such a fight until it was absolutely necessary; especially so when she was surrounded by people whom she respected too much to let her see fail, if she could at all help it. No, no need for a fight just yet. Her saber was drawn already - she'd be prepared, should she need to be.

"Mhm." She turned her head briefly to respond to Imperia's question. "Stay nearby if you like, although I'm sure you'll find something to stab further away."

Her focus was back on Sorel.

"Pity, but I won't try and change your mind." It was rather difficult, unfortunately, to leave an impactful decision on somebody's alignment when Aria's own was so ambiguous. She knew how to fix it, of course, but she was still rather hesitant on that matter.

"Have the Jedi held up well?"

Silly question, silly answer, she supposed. But she needed to evaluate the situation a bit.

"Get those men inside the Maw, now! Let's move!" Vixley was still attending to a dying soldier as he could see off in the distance, the Sith, were starting to get battles over the walls. Scans of the local militia of Midvinter showed that the technology level of the Sith Soldiers would make this an almost slaughter-fest. Vixley looked down at the soldier he was attending, but his lights were fading long before he got to him, but he was still breathing. "Get this soldier into the Maw, come on," he ushered over one of the gurney droids. When it arrived, he helped the droid get the soldier up onto it as it hurriedly paced back to the Maw. The Maw didn't have enough room for the armies the Sith and the Silver had, but Vixley wasn't going to stop. "We set up a Triage, here." He spoke out loud, over the comms to his droids and the frequency the MX-2 was on. He walked over to the Maw and knocked on the side, signaling for the hologram to appear. "Listen, launch the O-D-R's," he continued, opening up a side panel and pulling out two Trauma Care Packages. "Alexis, do you read me?" he requested, walking a short distance from the Maw and sitting them down.

"I've got you, Vixley, what's up?"

"You read the beacon? Drop a crate here, we're just outside the gate." He opened the up and yelled out for the GH-7 to leave the Maw, telling it to stay here and treat the wounded. "After that, head over the wall, and drop some parachuted supplies in... their gonna need them more than us."

"Vixley, why are we helping the Sith? They're killing everyone!" Alexis said as she turned the ship around, heading in Vixley's direction as one of the medical droid prototypes in the cargo hold began moving one of the supply crates.

"It doesn't matter who we help, what matters is what we're helping. What we're saving. These are people, alive, with families, loved ones, people who care about them. Just like you, Alexis." He looked up to see the MX-2 flying in overhead, thankfully, it hadn't taken any hits after the space incident.

"Alright... get ready, package incoming." The winds had picked up, at least for the ship, but it wasn't going to get any colder, it was already freezing with the snow. The package was pushed out of the cargo hold and it lowered down.

Vixley ran over to catch up with it. "If only we had some heaters. GH-7, if you find an abandoned home, don't be afraid to use it, for any patients." He said as he caught up with the crate, catching it, and dragging it to the Triage set-up. "All we've got is the beacon to signal this is a triage. But you let anyone in who needs medical care, alright? I don't care if we use all the supplies. Lets get a gurney over here!"

Leaving behind a beacon, many medical supplies, and two droids, Vixley got back into the Maw and started her up. The MX-2 was heading over the wall to drop medic supplies, parachuted. The crates had the medical symbol on them. They would be dropped towards the center of the city, and towards the gate. Hopefully, the ship wouldn't be shot at. ([member="Willa Isard"])

"This is Vixley, Combat Medic One. I'm heading for the Gate." He spoke on all public and civilian frequencies. No one had responded, which wasn't unexpected during all this chaos. But he was accomplishing his mission, so he had to push the limit.

The waifishly-proportioned, aristocratic blonde clutched his cloak to him, holding his walking stick close to himself as the wind rose from a howl to a roar. He had held back from the initial waves, the ones that had met the iron wall of Midvinter's defenses and smashed them open for the galaxy to see, but no longer - now was the perfect opportunity. He inhaled, the icy air cutting raw against his lungs, and whispered a brief spell of concealment under his breath as he plunged his staff into the ground, his atrophied limbs groaning as he stepped forwards with a small attache of Sith troops.

He had his own purpose for coming to this battle. Surrounded by the dead, the dying, feeling their life energies seeping up from the battlefield? All that vitality would not go to waste - here, he would grow ten times stronger - this was the way of the Sith. Feed on war. Feed on death and power, and make yourself stronger.

He wrapped himself in the fog of war as he made his way forwards - he had to be wary of blaster bolts, mortar shells as he traced the edge of the battlefield, like some sort of perverse vulture, but he would not be their concern. Someone else will handle him, they will think. Or, he's no threat to anybody. Or they may just forget. The Force could grant glory... but it was just as useful when it gave obscurity.

A wounded soldier's pained groan turned to a sigh of death and relief as he coaxed a wisp of purple mist from between the man's stubbly, split lips, inhaling the tiny spark of the corpse's life essence. He smiled, and swept his head from left to right, looking for who was nearest - on the battlefield, here, he was home.
