..:: Appearance ::..
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Outwardly, Orloch's phenotypes appear to have favored his Pau'an ancestry. His features are gaunt and pale, and he is incredibly tall in comparison to most humans, but only little above average for a native of Utapau. Yet, some of his genetics reveal nods to his Vampirika ancestry. His skin, while pale, is almost an alabaster white, much like other Vampirika. Under times of great emotional stress, such as anger or extreme sorrow, his vampiric nature will come to the surface. His canine teeth would extend, and his normally black eyes brighten to a shade of bluish-silver.
In terms of fashion, he keeps things rather simple. He is normally seen in a variation of Utapauan robes, usually monochromatic in color. His more iconic look is a black robe not unlike the kinds made famous by port administrator Tion Medon and Jedi Master Lar Le'Ung. He also carries a cane on him, which conceals his former Jedi lightsaber. In addition, the cane adds to the facade of being partially venerable in his great age.

..:: Personality ::..
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
In his many years, Orloch has proven his ability for patience. In part, it is because of his training as a Jedi. Yet, one can also owe his patience to the longevity granted to him that allows him to simply outlive persons who had caused roadblocks in his line of work. In addition, the old hybrid has grown a sense of practicality and decorum out of being the majordomo or aide to many of society’s upper crust.
Personally, he is a very kind person,despite his outward looks being somewhat gruesome. He is a patron of the arts, loving to view hologalleries, art collections, and listen to music. Had he the tolerance for sunlight, he could have likely be seen cultivating a garden.
However, he is no pushover. Should one bring insult to Orloch, or his masters, he is quick to reprimand the voice of insult. Should those under his care become threatened, he would be among the first to draw a weapon to defend his House, and to defend it with fierce loyalty.

..:: Strengths ::..
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Longevity: Being born of both Vampirika and Pau'an ancestry, Orloch is a naturally long lived being. Biologically speaking, his life borders on what some would call "immortal" in comparison to the life span of a human. Yet, he is still mortal in the way that he can killed by severe wounds and sickness.
Vampirika Biology: His maternal bloodline has granted him access to some of the staples of the Vampire species. This includes super human strength and agility, along with heightened biological sense such as sight and hearing. Furthermore, this side of his genetics also allows for rapid healing.
Jedi Training: Over a thousand years before the present, Orloch was inducted into the Jedi Order of the Old Republic, prior to the implementation of Order 66. Under the tutelage of a Master, Orloch eventually achieved the status of Jedi Knight in his comprehension of the Force and skills of a lightsaber. Despite hiding his status following his leaving the order and subsequent survival under the Galactic Empire, he still retains the knowledge.
Silver Tongue: For many years, he served as a majordomo and aide to various individuals in his centuries of life. This has given him a way with words, knowing how to make arrangements and act as a steward to his different masters' affairs.
Patience: In combination of the meditative training of the Jedi Order, and the great longevity granted to him by his heritage, Orloch has learned to take things in patient strides.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
..:: Weaknesses ::..
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Photosensitivity: Because of his vampiric ancestry, Orloch is reactive to strong, constant sources of ultraviolet radiation, such as most young stars. As such, prolonged exposure can lead to burning of his skin, and if left long enough, possible death by shock of receiving such painful injuries. Additionally, he is deeply affected visually if viewing direct sunlight, risking blindness.
Silver Allergy: Much like ultraviolet radiation, the exposure to true silver causes his biology to react. More commonly, it would likely burn his skin, and likely cause death if silver weaponry or shrapnel pierced a vital organ of his body.
Hemovoric Diet: While he can take pleasure in other cuisine, it would offer no nutritional value. He must consume hemoglobin-based blood, or likewise substitute, in order to satiate hunger. In addition, failing to consume his hemovore biology would throw him in a violent mental state that Vampirika have dubbed “blood madness”.
Nightshade: Like other Vampirika-born, the toxic compound known as Nightshade is lethal to Orloch if the correct dosage is somehow ingested into his body.
Wounds: While his hybrid ancestry leaves him a long, natural life, he is not unkillable. A bad wound to vital organ systems, such as his brain or heart, would render him dead. Similarly, any severe wound where over hemorrhaging is also likely to kill him.

..:: Early Years ::..
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Orloch Moretti was born to a woman of the Vampirika Moretti bloodline. At the time, the vampiric clan held on to the idea of hybridizing in order to make the bloodline stronger. His mother had seduced a Pau’an senatorial aide, Orloch’s biological father, believing that Utapauan genetics had bred highly intelligent individuals. Yet, he did not have his father in his life. For most of his infancy, he was raised under the care of his mother and grandfather. Even more so, this family life did not last forever. The young hybrid was soon to show his sensitivity to the Force, bringing the attention to the Jedi. After much persuasion, Orloch was brought to the Jedi Temple on Coruscant.
As a Jedi Padawan, he was placed under the care of a mentor just as unique as himself. An Umbaran who, under the belief of the council, would be a great pairing due to the mutual need of the darkness. Under his Master’s guidance, he underwent the same tasks asked of every Padawan. He went under the Gathering on Ilum, gaining an ice-blue crystal for his lightsaber. He successfully passed his trials, becoming inducted as a Knight of the Order, serving as a peacekeeper on dark worlds. For a time, he even did his time as a Temple Guard, whose masked uniform allowed him more freedom than before.
But with all his triumphs, tragedy was just around the corner. At around his 100th year of life, news came to him that his mother had been killed. It was suggested that agents of a rival clan had poisoned her with a nightshade-laced dart. As her firstborn child, it was Orloch’s responsibility to take her place. So, he respectfully retired from the Jedi Order and took up his mother’s former position as the Moretti’s majordomo.
..:: Clone Wars ::..
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Orloch’s life had been a mostly quiet one following his mother’s death. Yet, trouble brewed when the Naboo Crisis occurred in 32 BBY, and more so when the Clone Wars broke out not even a decade later. Like many cultures at the time, the Vampirika clans were divided between the prevailing Republic and Separatist political ideologies. Orloch, personally, was a closeted Seperatist sympathizer. He believed that the Republic had become bloated by bureaucracy and corruption, and empathized with the sentiment of those who wished to secede from the Republic.
Barring that, he did not let his political beliefs influence his work on Coruscant. He honored deals his clan arranged with the Republic, and relatively kept quiet on his ideology. He became more uneasy as the war came to a close. He was horrified by the collapse of the Separatists, and the reorganization of the Republic into the Galactic Empire. Most of all, he felt the painful ripples in the Force that came about with the systematic destruction of the Jedi known as Order 66. He had managed to avoid it due to his retirement from the Order many years earlier.
..:: Age of the Empire ::..
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
As the Empire tightened its iron grasp around the Galaxy, Orloch withdrew public usage of any knowledge he gained as a Jedi. He kept his work as the Moretti clan’s majordomo, taking care of their arrangements with the Empire. His political ideology changed yet again. While not involved directly as figures like Leia Organa or Mon Mothma, Orloch was a supporter of the Rebel Alliance. He would sometimes give quick shelter to Rebel agents, long enough to keep stormtroopers off their trails.
Also, during this period, he became betrayed by his own bloodline. Perhaps inspired by the Empire’s Human-centric cultural doctrine, some of his kinsmen banished him from their clan out of a need for “blood purity”. He was able to support himself with the amount of credits he had saved over the years. He was also among the few who felt the wound in the Force that was created when Alderaan was destroyed. He became overjoyed when he heard the news of the victory at Endor, hoping for a great future in the hands of a new generation.

..:: Hibernation ::..
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Feeling weary from the past decades of war and strife between the Clone Wars and Civil War, Orloch took it upon himself to partake in one of the older traditions of his kind. Setting aside a physical chest of credits and other valuables for when he awoke, Orloch entered into a stasis chamber he had installed deep beneath his residence on Coruscant, intending to seal himself away for only a few decades. Partway into his self-induced suspended animation, the pod’s timer malfunction, prolonging his hibernation for centuries.
..:: Present Day ::..
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
When he finally awoke, it was with a daze. Being asleep for so long caused him a great deal of hibernation sickness, including partial blindness. He emerged from the stasis, to his surprise, in 830 ABY. As he had done before, he had kept to the shadows as he gained his footing in this new era. This galaxy was much like the one of his bygone era, one marked by conflict and strife. In the meantime, he managed to use his funds to gather himself a new ship and a servant droid. He survived on his leftover fortunes, and even worked alongside healers with his Force abilities for a short time, if only to have an easy access to blood to feed his hemovore diet.
It was not until he heard of the rise of a name he had not heard in many years that he became more active in galactic affairs. Amelia Sorenn, now Sorenn-Syrush, his kinsman from his mother. He kept back from initial contact, however, the sting of the Moretti’s banishment and Amelia’s own anti-Force agenda was fresh. As soon as he heard tell of her acceptance of Jedi and agents of Light, he was among the first to offer his services. While not apart of House Syrush’s ruling family, he was nonetheless glad to be among his own once more.
