Chapter I - Your new role.Congratulations, Recruit! If you are reading this primer, you have successfully passed the screening process and are now one of many hoping to complete Basic Training and join the ranks of the Sovereign Army and place you name within the wall of heroes! Since the inception of our great Nation, the Sovereign Army along with its strong brotherhood with the Sovereign Navy has stood as the safeguard of the Sovereignty and its citizens. Now you, alongside the countless men and women by your side across countless training facilities across our great nation, will become the next generation of heroes to fight against the countless threats to our very way of life.
Within the pages of this primer you will find all the information required to faithfully do your part within the Sovereign Army. As part of the core doctrine of the Sovereign Army; "A smart soldier is an alive soldier." holds a lot of weight within the legions of heroic men and women who sign up to serve their nation with the highest form of civil service. As such, all information found within this primer is mandatory to all recruits within the Sovereign Army during their time within Basic Training. With this core doctrine in mind, every soldier is held to a standard worthy of honors within the Armed Forces, thus the requirement of all soldiers to not only study this primer but memorize its contents to the letter has been proven by Sovereign War Theorists to increase not only combat efficiency but camaraderie by Eighty-Five percent!
To summarize, the contents within this Primer will include;
- Your standard infantry equipment issued post-graduation of Basic Training alongside coverage of other common equipment you will be utilizing upon the field.
- The Core Ideals of the Sovereign Army.
- A summary of known threats to the Sovereignty and a clear guide on how to combat them.

Chapter II - Equipment & You! The kit that'll save your life!Serving within the Sovereign Army is perhaps one of the most prestigious forms of civil service that a citizen can undertake to serve this great Nation. That is not to say, however, that it comes with a near constant danger of death or severe harm being inflicted upon you or your brothers and sisters in arms. To combat this, the Sovereign Armed Forces equips its brave ground troops with the best armor and weaponry that can be fielded, ensuring both your protection from harm and the means to inflict even greater harm upon those that would destroy our great Nation. Within this chapter you will be familiarized with the equipment that a standard infantryman within the Sovereign Army will find themselves equipped with on a typical combat deployment. Study this carefully! Knowing the insides and outsides of your issued equipment is essential to peak operational efficiency; your life may be forfeit if that extra magazine you packed slows you down or you find the enemy baring down upon you having not packed your combat blade!
The A400 is the standard issue blaster within the Sovereign Army that is issued to rifleman and non-specialized troops. Capable of discharging roughly 150 shots per power pack at the effective range of 100 meters and with an adjustable electroscope to top it all off, the A400 is fully capable of handling itself on the field as a typical blaster rifle should however, thanks to the bright minds at Barabian Systems, the A400 has a hidden surprise. Once reconfigured, the A400 can be swapped from its standard blaster rifle configuration to a more powerful marksman configuration; a more powerful shot with an effective range of 250 meters however with the reduced ammunition capacity of 40 shots. This ability to swap between one or the other allows not only marksmen but the entire unit to swap to a longer ranged capacity should the situational parameters call for it.
The Glie-50 is the standard issue sidearm of the Sovereign Army typically handed to armor crews, officers or specialized troops. With the effective range of under 50 meters and with an ammunition capacity of 50 shots per power pack, the Gile-50 is a capable sidearm and backup weapon. This is only solidified by the three-round burst that the military variant of the sidearm possesses as opposed to the single shot function of the police variant. The sidearm is also reasonably light, if somewhat lacking in durability and thus will require more care to upkeep than other weapons within the Sovereign Army's arsenal.
Every soldier deserves a kit and a shield that'll protect him in combat. Fortunately the S-01 Infantry Combat Armor is standard issue to every soldier within the Sovereign Army, created with the intention to keep you and your brothers and sisters in arms alive on the battlefield. Created using a mix of both Duraplast and Armorweave, these materials will ensure that a soldier is as protected as they can be in regards to their armor. The S-01 comes packed with features designed to assist the wearer with effective operations upon the battlefield. Despite the numerous utilities and features of the S-10 ICA, each set comes with a cape as standard issue, which is an iconic symbol and badge of honor of any Sovereign Army soldier. The S-01 ICA also comes with the standard kit of two weeks rations, a first aid kit, ammunition pouches and a combat knife as standard.
Chapter III - The Core Ideals! The Genetic Makeup of a Sovereign Army Soldier!Whilst standing alongside your brothers and sisters in arms within the Sovereign Army, your personal fame and fortune will not only garner a significant boost in the eyes of your fellow peers and citizens but you too will learn what it means to carry the banner of our great nation. To this end, whilst serving with pride and enthusiasm to do your part, the Sovereign Army expects each and every soldier under the flag to carry the core ideals with pride and willingness to protect them with their very lives. As part of the core doctrine, it is stated that if one card falls, the whole tower weakens and crumbles. Privates, all the way through to the Generals that lead the armies of the Sovereign Army are expected to uphold these core ideals to the very letter and keep them fresh and memorized in their minds. They are as follows;
1: You are a shining beacon in the darkness to this great nation and its citizens. When threats rise with the intent to topple and wipe out everything and everyone the Sovereignty stands for, you will answer the call. Alongside your brothers and sisters in arms you will act as the sword and shield of this great nation and will stand tall in the face of adversity. Go fourth with heroism and light the torch of hope to act as a rallying cry for all to witness and mark your name down in history!
2: Show no mercy to our foes, for they will seek to end not only you but our very way of life. For this, there can be no leniency or respite for those that would seek to destroy us. Either on the battlefield or off, fight not only for yourself but for your brothers and sisters in arms and the citizens rooting for you back home. It is only through the absolute destruction of our foes that the borders and all that lie within it can rest easy.
3: Differences and rivalry between the Sovereign Navy and the Sovereign Army will always be persistent, as is the very history and tradition shared by the Sovereign Armed Forces as a whole. When times are tough, however, remember that it is only through the combined efforts of the Navy and Army that the Armed Forces will bring the destruction and safety of our borders in times of crisis and war.
4: Manpower and equipment are equals in the eyes of importance and as such, the care of your equipment is primarily your responsibility. Poorly maintained equipment has more often than not led to a death that could have easily been avoided. Don't leave it to chance and don't give the enemy the possibility to exploit your laziness. Take care of your equipment and it in turn will take care of you.
Chapter IV - Perks of Service! Citizens LOVE the cape!Chances are, during your enlistment process, you hadn't the time to familiarize yourself with the perks of service, maybe you hadn't the time to do the research prior to your enlistment or you simply forgot. Whatever the case, the full list of perks of service within the Sovereign Army has been complied and listed below for your convenience. As if the chances of going down in history as a hero didn't catch your ear and attention enough, the perks of service include;
- The right to wear the cape! A status symbol among the men who did their part within the Sovereign Army and, prior to your honorable discharge, you will be granted the right to wear the cape when you return to citizen life! As confirmed by Civil Theorists thanks to numerous surveys, it is confirmed that citizens do indeed love the cape!
-The rights of a full citizenship. As you know, civil service is a requirement to obtain a full citizenship. Being granted a full citizenship, you will be able to not only vote but also stand for election.
-A fully covered medical and funeral care program for both during enlistment and honorable or medical discharge.
