SPECIAL FEATURES
Propulsion
Communications
Miscellaneous
Strengths:
  • Extended Operations: The Outcast was made to maintain itself and its complement for a significant amount of time without docking.
  • Anti-Fighter Defenses: The Outcast’s weaponry is designed with multiple fields of overlapping fire from a significant array of point defense weaponry.
  • Behind Enemy Lines: With specialized Hyperdrive and Communication Systems, the Outcast is able to operate quietly behind enemy lines with reduced chances of being located and detected.
  • Carrier: The Ship features a number of squadrons and support craft.
Weaknesses:
  • Low Armament: The Outcast has very little in the way of capital weaponry, consisting only of a handful of mass-driver weapons and a set of smaller composite beam cannons to support them.
  • Over Strain: When using the enhanced engine systems, there tends to be a drain on shield power during and for a short time afterwards in addition to their other weaknesses. If the shields are down, weapon systems feature a power drain and lights might dim or flicker.
DESCRIPTION
The Outcast Home is the mobile home base for the newly formed Outcast Squadron and its associated personnel. As the largest ship of the small force it is forced to act as a replenishment vessel and a repair ship for the starfighters that traffic the ship, its living space has to accommodate a significant number of visiting personnel.

The Outcast Home features fairly comfortable living quarters for the full-time crew allowing for individual rooms in the aft of the ship situated above the reactor core of the vessel. The captain’s quarters feature a Ghostwave communication and encryption module for him to send and receive updates from Command. Visitor Quarters are split into two groups, Trooper Bunkrooms and Staterooms. Bunkrooms sleep nine on four bunkbeds and one single bed with equipment lockers built into the walls for clothes, fatigues, and weaponry. Staterooms are designed to offer a decent bit of luxury with a foyer, bedroom, and private refresher.

Above the Main Hangar are the pilot quarters, allowing for them to get to their craft as quickly as possible. The Pilot quarters are set in a circular pattern surrounding a common room which is supposed to be for the private use of the squadron, accessible via turbolift which contains several very basic amenities such as light cookware and refrigerators. The Squadron Leaders and Executive Officers each have a private room and office attached to the common area, and a simulator room for the squadron to practice with is to one side. Each flight of three pilots share a room and refresher but have their own closet and storage lockers for their equipment.

Hangar Layout
The Outcast Home features a large main hangar bay set at midship and secondary prow hangar. The Main Hangar has port and starboard entrances which are shielded and can be closed by blast doors, with space of a number of starships, featuring two full squadrons, their associated gunboats, plus several other repair and recovery vessels. In the center of the hangars ceiling there is a traffic control office which controls a tractor pressor beam and the internal defense turret to prevent boarding. Several lifts allow for heavily damaged vessels to be lowered into mechanic bays below the hangar. The prow hangar is for a single larger vessel, such as a freighter or shuttle, to launch from. There are also several places for larger vessels to dock externally with the Outcast.

Propulsion
The Outcast Home, despite everything else, is not a mainstay combat vessel. It isn’t designed to slug its way through combat or be present during battles. Because of this, its propulsion units are extensively upgraded and modified. The engines are more powerful and feature better handling and turning radius than most, but also feature a full suite of Mandal Hypernautics engine units allowing for bursts of speed or maneuverability and emergency reverse thrusters. Alderaan Engineering also provided a set of rotational thrusters so that it could make occasional extreme course corrections if needed, making its movements unpredictable.

Its hyperdrive is a Dha’karbakar Hyperdrive, known for its ability to slip through early warning systems and enter monitored systems without triggering most Hyperspace sensors. This was used to allow the Outcast Home to move through monitored enemy territory with relative safety. A precision Navicomputer was included to allow for quick jump calculations, redirecting hyperspace coordinates while in transit without having to revert to realspace, and to supply the Dha’karbakar with the necessary processing power for it to perform at maximum capacity.

Miscellaneous Systems
Outcast Home is based off the old Nebula-class chassis produced by Mandal Hypernautics and heavily modified by ArmaTech Industries and Alderaan Engineering before being further modified by Outcast Squadron when they acquired the vessel from an unknown benefactor. The ship features a Ghostwave Communication Module for untraceable communication while deep in enemy territory, an Ion Scrambler to prevent enemies or authorities from tracing the source of communication signals they might detect. A solid fuel converter allows the ship to take on waste and trash to be converted into fuel for the vessel to cut costs on resupplying it and the associated vessels of Outcast Squadron. Finally, an LE-8 Sensor Dampener distorts and reduces the effectiveness of nearby enemy starfighters by piggybacking across their targeting computers, limiting the range of their sensors and targeting computers.

Defensive and Offensive Systems
The vessel features a rugged Mandalorian Steel, Euk’gar, hull and reinforced frame which is both highly durable and very light-weight. Layered over this armor and hull is a military grade Deflector Shield and the ship features several banks of Port, Starboard, and Aft AE Dampener Chaff launchers to round out its defensive measures.

In terms of weaponry the Outcast Home is lightly armed, with two batteries of Fast-Mounted Mass Drivers and Composite Beam cannons acting as its primary weaponry, offering only light capital weapons. Its antifighter weapons however provide several fields of overlapping fire from four batteries of point defense lasers as its primary defenses. Supporting these are two batteries of Witchfire CIWS for disabling incoming missiles and lightly armored interceptors, DM Guardian batteries targeting enemy fighters with their ion tags and nano missiles that are used quickly in conjunction. Ra Defense Missile Turrets target heavily armored bombers and gunships with salvos of multiple missile fire meant to batter them down with brute force explosives.
