Outer Demons

Orange flashed up to split the emblems in two. To some it may have been a symbol, a metaphor for bringing down Anja herself. But the twin strikes manifested themselves as nothing more than self-defense, a rather simple display all told, but one that got the job done. "Have I ever denied that? I'd like to kick your teeth in too, this time, if it's alright with you." Typically fights between them were one-sided when it came to the verbal side of things, with Keira more than making up for the lack of comments on the other woman's part. Now it seemed they would trade some manner of banter, though of the less witty sort, not that she had expected anything less. Sometimes she forgot the Host Lord was even capable of speech, given her constant silence.

The illusion that manifested itself was regarded with skepticism and a caution of sorts as well. Stepping back, she released a burst of the Force weaker than the one before, hoping to dispel the arachnids, whether they were tangible or otherwise. Mentalism wasn't a facet that she had explicit experience with, preferring to focus her time on that which could be utilized entirely within the physical realm. It was better to throw one's opponent against the wall with a blade to their throat than simply making them believe such a thing had transpired. But it was fitting that Anja preferred such tactics. It was just another divide that separated them, and another reason they would never find themselves allied.

Not allowing herself any time to falter she began her own attack, striking out quickly and tenaciously, pressing the offensive despite her currently weakened state. To back the other woman up against the wall would be the first step in securing her second escape from The Primeval. Not augmenting either her speed or strength with the Force, she was conserving her energy on that plane for another eventual repulse that would hopefully serve as a finishing move. Of course, this train of thought was terribly optimistic. The chances of her overwhelming her opponent in any sense were slim to none given her current state, and even if she had been in peak condition she knew she was vastly outnumbered besides.

Much to her frustration she wasn't able to keep up her typical pace for an extended amount of time, and whether it was due to the illusion that currently pained her or the persistent exhaustion that plauged her both mentally and physically was hard to say. Regardless she broke away, chest rising and falling with each breath, it taking a certain amount of effort to simply remain standing. But she refused to falter, knowing that weakness in either party would be swiftly capitalized upon. "Didn't you have a friend with you that last time? I'm starting to miss his ugly mug. At least he was fun to be around." Provoking that scarred warden had been something of a pastime of hers in the years previous. At least he was entertaining in his own way.
