Padawan advancement

People, stop spamming. :p

Right, so Tionne is willing to take up padawans, since she has zero.
However, I do have a few requests for future students

1.I am not only interested in training, but also character development. Tionne would bond with her students for life.
2.I lean towards mission oriented RP. Temple threads are too routine for my taste. So, where Tionne goes, her students go as well.
3.Tionne is a Watchman, which falls into category of Sentinel. This means I can't teach you how to become a healer or master swordsman. If you want to be a Jedi Shadow, a mentalist or any other cross-class, I can help you.
4.I expect people playing my students to write deep, introspective posts. I need to enjoy reading us to be supermotivated to post.

If you comply with all above, I am willing to post regularly and you wouldn't need to wait for a reply for more than a couple of hours at most. Think about it.
*raises a cute, furry eyebrow*

You have at least one Padawan, Boss.

*grins adorably*

A pet that will be doing Yoda acrobatics and waving around a lightsaber...oh, and using the Force! *makes weird whirring noises while waving his hands mysteriously and twitching eyebrows.*

The Padawan FAQ is kind of vague on that specific point, but activity seems to be the bottom line answer.

In general, your master/teacher puts you forward to the FAs for knight promotion (then its an all Master vote, followed by the RPJs for final decision, for promotion to master level).

When I looked at your bio, I noticed you haven't updated it with your threads -- which could make it difficult for a FA to know where your character was in terms of what development you've done with him.

If you haven't already, you should look at the Jedi Progression templates that [member="Corvus Raaf"] supplied. Having all your Jedi training and faction threads in one spot, available for the FAs and Jedi Masters to review makes it easy for them to know who is ready for advancement.

Some people post in the progression thread, and some make a separate thread for it. Here's mine, for example.

If you already have a thread tracker, great! I just couldn't find one when I looked through your bio or your profile (or the Jedi Archives of the Republic or Jedi Academy)

And, a final note, from the Progression template thread:

There are a few prerequisites noted in the forms e.g. Faction threads. There is no prerequisite number of skills required to progress to the next level but for Padawans, the Trials (or equivalent) should be completed as a minimum. To progress to Master, at least three Padawans should have been trained to Knight status.
Hope this helped. :)

I am going to be forward about this: I don't check anyone's progression trackers, and I never made one for myself. My threads are all in my character bio.

What does this mean? I won't check your progression trackers either. If you feel you're ready to be promoted and you don't have a master, PM me and I will look at your threads then. If you are my student, I will promote you when I think you're ready, but you're welcome to PM me and ask how you're doing or something along those lines.

(What I mean by that is you should still have a place where your threads are up to date so that they can be looked at when the time comes...I will still ask to see them all, I just don't actively check unless there is a need.)

Is the Progression Tracker system dead, then? Or are there people who still rely on it?

It isn't dead. If a padawan comes to me and asks to be made a knight, I'm going to want to see it. It is less used if you have a master. But for those seeking to get promoted without a master it is certainly important.

It's not dead, like Kian said. I just do not actively look through Padawan's progression trackers to see if they should be promoted. If someone comes to me or one of the other FA and asks for promotion, then that is when we will ask to see either: your progression tracker, or your list of threads within your character bio (Take mine for instance, I have all of my threads separated by type in my bio, but no progress tracker).

In the case of my own students, I keep track of their threads as best I can and when I see them ready to be promoted, I will promote them, unless they ask me before hand whether I feel they are ready and they give me a list of reasons that can substantiate why.
