Palace Physician Please

Royal Palace - Chasin City - Commenor

Though Chasin City had it's own hospitals, one of which was partly funded by the Red Ravens, Kay didn't quite have her own physician. Sure the Palace had it's own medical wing, but most of the doctors there were on loan from the hospitals. Now was the time that the Palace needed a full time physician, one to call all the shots, tend to the wounds and illnesses of her guards, her staff and of course for herself. Although she was adept at healing herself through the Force, it was a gift that she kept secret. So letting the doctors look after her on occasion helped to keep up the ruse.

An advertisment was sent out, not just on Commenor but in the nearby systems as well. Even though her planet was not prone to war from outsiders, they had their own inner conflicts that were normal in society. Some conflicts however, were a little abnormal.

Now she waited in a meeting hall. All interviews were to be held there and all candidates were to be brought from the docking ports to the Palace itself. After the security checks, the candidate would then be escorted to Kay. And as always, she'd be found with a cup of tea in hand, a datapad on the table infront of her. Mystery holo-novels always hooked her into their stories.

"Get that thing the hell out of my face before I show you why amputations are my favorite procedure..." The ornery Doctor shot towards one of the spaceport's security officers. So far the entire day had been a pain in Tesla's backside but he tried his best not to show it. Sadly for all those involved Tesla's ability to hide his discomfort was on the scale of a Rancor's ability to balance itself on one hand. After he was thoroughly searched for any contraband he was ushered onto a speeder skiff to be taken to the palace. The driver glanced back at the naturally unkempt man as he activated the transport.

Tesla was by far no image of beauty and he did not need reinforcement to this fact.

He held a rigid jaw line that was currently covered by a nice five o'clock shadow. His lab coat, which was surprisingly clean and well maintained, lightly brushed over the top of his heel as he adjusted himself to lean on the speeder's back railing.

Normally Tesla took his medical bag anywhere he went but this time he was forced against such actions because of the rather strict security laws on the planet.

The aged Doctor let out a rather exasperated sigh as he saw the palace come into his view. It had been nearly a month since he left the fairy festival known as the Galactic Alliance. He had decided to move into the private fields hoping for a change of both scenery and an ability to focus on his own research.

The skiff pulled into a small clearing in front of the palace and Tesla stepped off only to be met with yet another security officer. "Follow me, please." The man stated before Tesla gestured for the officer to take the lead. The Doctor paid little attention to the palace and it's interior. The job here was to take over as the head of the palace medical staff and he felt no reason to deviate from the requirements of that mission. It was not until they found themselves staring at a closed door that Tesla arched a brow at the man. He knocked once before tapping the console beside it, allowing it to slide open.

Tesla looked up to see that he had been brought directly to his interview. Good, at least he was dealing with a person who wouldn't waste his time. The hall was in matching fashion to the rest of the palace and like the rest of the palace he paid it little mind. Tesla approached the center of the room, his footsteps creating a soft echo to break the silence of the room.

Before he spoke the Doctor adjusted the glasses on his face, allowing him to get a clear look at the woman. She was fair, soft skin and pretty eyes, beautiful hair that the Doctor would compare to nubian silk. All in all she was a beautiful young woman with a compelling presence about her.

He did not wait for an invitation to sit. He quickly found himself in a seat across from her but he did at least initiate the conversation. "Mrs. Kay, I presume. I hope this won't be overly painful for you." His tone held a natural sarcasm that could easily be misinterpreted as pointed malice to the wrong person.

Kay was so wrapped up in her holo-novel that she didn't even realize that the door was closed. At least not until it opened anyways. For a moment she froze in place, staring down at her datapad, as if she was waiting for something to happen.

It wasn't until [member="Victor Tesla"] sat down that she looked up and composed herself. The appearance of his white lab coat didn't do well to bring her comfort either. [member="Thraxis"] had ruined that when he had stuck her inside the mental institution that he had built....

But he was not Thraxis. This was her home, not the fake mental institution. Victor's expertise was in a different field entirely. Thankfully.

Kay smirked a little at his comment. She folded her hands on top of her datapad. "Yes. Thank you for coming. I hope that your trip here was comfortable. At any rate, let's get down to business...What are your credentials? Worst and best experiences in your field? And how strongly do you adhere to doctor/patient confidentiality?"

I am a son of the Mountain.
The moment Lady Kay began to speak Dr. Tesla produced a small metal case from his breast pocket. He listened to the woman's words as he opened the case, eyeing the contents inside. Like him she was straight to the point, he respected that more than anything. As she spoke her first question the Doctor eyed key parts of her anatomy. First was her eyes, they had no extra bagging or lines to point to a lack of sleep. So that could be a small testament to her mental state at least being in a controlled state. He hated having crazy bosses.

"I started studying medicine when I was eighteen. By the age of twenty four I had graduated from the Coruscantian medical academy. Using my medical degree I took a military commission in the Galactic Alliance, my record there should speak for itself. My patients had a 74 percent survival rate for the first ten years of my career and it only improved from there."

The Doctor finally produced the contents from his small metal container. A cigarra, a long thin piece of paper with tobac rolled in the center of it. The side of the container served as a lighter which he used to ignite the tobac. After taking one soft drag from the cigarra he placed the container on the desk in front of him.

"My military record was sent to you via data transfer, I assume you've already given it a look or else you wouldn't have called me here to speak with me."

Another short drag was given before the Doctor exhaled a small cloud of smoke up towards the ceiling. "My worst experience was when I served upon the Alliance Medical cruiser "Tranquility." We had recently received casualties coming from a failed invasion of a Sith casualties. Our ship's original orders were to stabilize the patients and prepare them for transfer to a more secure location. Our ship got caught in the middle of fleet combat and we were disabled for three days while we waited on reinforcements. The ship held over two thousand casualties while only a little under thirty Doctors were available. You can imagine how three days of that wasn't exactly a vacation to Naboo."

Tesla leaned back in his chair before running a hand over his curly mess of a formation he called hair. "As far as my best? I don't know lady, take a look at my record and pick one. There all just patients at the end of the day. As long as they live it's a win."

"My degree and expertise lie in general medicine and I'm a pretty decent surgeon. I also have minor's in the bio-medical, medicinal, and therapeutic fields. I've been a doctor a long time so I've picked up a lot along the way. I can treat aliens as well but it helps if I have reference material and ideally a nurse who is familiar with that species."

The woman's final question brought an arch in the Doctor's brow as he took another soft inhale of his Cigarra. "Now that's the gold isn't it? Everyone wants the Doctor who will just patch you up and won't ask any questions." Tesla stood up with a rather amused smirk on his face, turning away from the woman as he took a moment to contemplate his words.

"I'm no saint, and I didn't become a Doctor to necessarily do good things. I'm a scientist, means I want knowledge and experience, I don't much care how I get it or who I get it from. But...I'm not without my own rules of doing things. Being a political figure head I'm sure you have your fingers in the latest of dirt right?" He made his way back to his seat, reclining once more as he continued.

"Here's the deal sweetheart. You have two ways of working with me. One, you tell me nothing and if any of your personal life somehow backfires on me...I'll sing like a Mynock to save my hide. I'll tell anyone anything to save my skin. On the other hand, you let me know what I'm getting into. I decide if I want in and if I agree than you have full confidentiality. You see most people don't understand how intimate the Doctor/Patient relationship is. I have to know you'll trust me with your life and you have to know you can trust me with your life. So the best way to do that is let no secrets come between us. So that's my offer Mrs. Kay, take it, or leave it."

The Doctor flicked his ashes onto his small metal container, smiling at the woman yet still having a rather disgruntled aura to him.

Kay studied [member="Victor Tesla"] while he spoke of his credentials and fields of study. One way to discover if people lied in their application was through whether or not they spoke with passion in regards to her questions about his education and work history. So far he was passing her test.

Members of the Galactic Alliance didn't tend to stray to this part of the Galaxy, though their territory was getting closer. Perhaps things had gotten bad there and Victor felt the need to get out of there while he could. Or perhaps he was the first of many to come, and she would have to work hard to maintain Commenor's neutrality. Or perhaps he just came to the point of his life where he needed a change of scenery. Regardless, he was here.

She watched him while he got up and smoked while he answered her final question. Kay sipped her tea, keeping her composure while she contemplated him being captured by her enemies and forced to answer questions. The fact that he could blurt them all out if he didn't find her worthy, well, that was a bit concerning.

And yet she liked his attitude, even if it was confrontational. She needed more people that didn't see eye to eye with her. It gave her a whole new perspective, a different way to think and perhaps solve a problem.

Kay smirked at the different pet names and titles that he had given her. Perhaps he just didn't know what to call her. So she decided to help him with that. "In public you can use a Royal title, but in private, Kay is fine
"
To not withhold secrets from him, that was a little dangerous. More so for her than himself. "As for secrets?...I have many, some that I keep hidden from everyone. Politics is a very dangerous game, most especially for ones like myself." Victor could make light of all of her secrets and not understand the depth of trouble that they could land her in. Or they could make him turn away from her entirely. "I've had to hide my Force abilities in order to serve in politics at all, for it was forbidden. Long story short, I was recently captured, tortured in almost every way that one could think of for many months until I was released. There are some scars that I just cannot heal on my own, some physical, some that are not." She didn't go into anymore detail. "Working for me comes with some risk that would only grow larger should my secrets be revealed. I have strategies in place to protect Commenor from threats from without. I cannot have a threat from within either."

She remained silent for a moment, going over the various things that she could do to root out a spy within her ranks, before sipping her tea and meeting Victor's gaze. "Should you work for me and prove your loyalty, I'll not keep anything from you. Does that satisfy you, Doctor?"

I am a son of the Mountain.
There was no huge shock transferred to Tesla when Lady Kay revealed she had an affinity in the ways of the force. Though the Doctor was not the biggest fan of force users he did not necessarily discriminate against them. They had the ability to become injured just as much as anyone else, hell usually more than everyone else. The Doctor considered her words for a moment before taking another shallow drag from his cigarra, exhaling a small grey cloud into the air once again before ushering a response. "That will work. If it makes you feel better I don't want to know your business for any personal gain of my own, just because I like to know the situation I'm putting myself in. You understand." Though he may not give it off Tesla was well acquainted with the political world and it's dog-eat-dog ways. If anyone knew the value of knowledge it was a politician.

The Doctor pinched the small embers that sat on the mouth of his cigarra, Kay not aggravating him to the point of a second or third to continue the conversation. "So let's say I agree to this. I have a few demands, and they are not negotiable." The man's glasses shifted to the edge of his eyes while he spoke to the woman. "I want my own lab for personal research and experiments. You'll be kept in the loop of what business is conducted there but no one outside of myself will be allowed in."

There was a moment of pause before he continued with his list of demands. "I want a proper medical staff. At least two assisting Doctor's and four supporting nurses, preferably ones that appeal to the eyes." His humor, like his words was rather dry, though he allowed a small smile to overcome him never the less. "I want full citizenship to your planet as well and I assume you will provide lodging." He leaned back in the chair, gesturing to her with a flair of his wrist. "Oh and I don't want anyone to know I'm here. Use a Moniker in place of my actual name. My presence here is to be completely unknown. Now if there is anything inside of that you have a problem with you can have a good day. If not, you're due for a check up."

Tesla spoke with a tone that showed he felt no reason to BS the woman. Everything about the doctor was very face value and left little to be desired as far as authenticity was concerned. Though at times he'd slip into a rather condescending tone it could very easily be understood that this man was simply a jerk. "What do you say sweetheart?"

Kay gave [member="Victor Tesla"] a curt nod as he was satisfied with her answer. However as he stated that he now had demands that could not be negotiayed, she raised a brow. A lab for experiments? And no one was allowed in? Who's to say if he isn't lying about what was going on in there? Perhaps cameras were in order. Being a Queen, she couldn't risk people working on plots against her.

She began to drum her fingers of one hand on the table as Victor began telling her about more of his demands. Two more doctors, more than likely full timers that will not have the time to work in the local hospital. Well, perhaps she'll seek doctors from some of the other cities.

Next was four nurses, and pleasing to the eyes? Well, he didn't say who's eyes they needed to be pleasing to. It could be Commenori that only a mother could love, if she truly wanted.

Full citizenship, lodgings, fake identity. He was hiding from someone or a group of someones. That much was clear. Whether or not that past would catch up to him here was anyone's guess.

Kay quit drumming her fingers as it seemed his list was over. Victor would have be running the whole medical wing of the Palace, so of course he'd be living there too. Has it ever been this difficult to hire somebody? No. But she could get rid of him easily enough if she had to. There were places that she could put him and he wouldn't have a soul to talk to. That is if she didn't decide to kill him first.

"Fine...dearest...I'd say that you're hired. I'll have everything prepared for you inside of a week. Your office and bedchambers are available to you now, however. Unless of course you would rather wait." It wasn't as though she was eager for a check up right now anyways.

I am a son of the Mountain.
The conditions were set, the terms had been agreed upon, for all intents and purposes Kay had now shifted in the eyes of the Doctor. She was no longer just a woman who was wanting to hire him or even just a person he worked for. She was now his patient, and though she did not know it that meant her life had more value to him than his own. In response he adjusted his glasses back to the full frame of his face. "If the office and bedchambers are already prepared I can examine you now. Since you've been recently tortured we'll go on to assume you have PTSD. We'll start physical than move to mental once you're prepared."

Tesla stood up, turning away from Kay for a moment as he paused in consideration. Almost a nervous tick, the Doctor deeply despised being watched while he was in deep thought, so in an attempt to trick himself he would turn from his company. "Also...I have a sensitive connection to the Force myself. I'd appreciate if you would not go poking around my mind, It's enough of a wreck up there as it is."

It may have come out sounding like a joke but the Doctor was very much afflicted. However, that was a tale for another time. He walked over to a nearby window, opening it as he spoke to the woman. "Also as your Doctor I recommend you not be tortured as often as possible. Bad for the life expectancy." He returned to Kay's desk only to retrieve the small pile of ashes that rested on his cigarra container. He walked the ashes to the window where he dumped them out, partially hoping there would be a passerby to collect on his improvised disposal technique. He closed the window while turning an expecting glance towards his new patient. "Shall we?"

Examine her now? Right now? She wanted to delay it but the look on his face told her that no amount of arguing or excuses was going to deter [member="Victor Tesla"] from doing his job. But what did he mean by moving to examine her mental state once she was prepared? Her thoughts went back to [member="Thraxis"] and his Doctor personna. She made a note to herself to try to keep them away from eachother for as long as possible. It was safer that way.

Kay blinked in surprise as he told her not to poke around in his mind. It wasn't her habit to do so. That was dangerous as it left her mind open as well. Didn't it? That thought made sense, but she couldn't for the life of her remember where she had learned it from.

She smirked as he commented on torture shortening her life expectancy. Was he trying to make a joke? Or did he suspect that she was one of those crazy people that enjoyed pain?

As the ashes were dumped out the window, they landed on a gardner that was tending to the flower beds. His shouting could be heard as the window closed.

Kay got to her feet, grabbing her datapad and leaving her tea cup on the table. "Sure. Right this way..." She led him out of the room and down the hall, keeping herself quiet as she pondered on how to delay an examination. It took a few minutes to walk through to the west wing. Near the end of the hall was a series of doors. Some were bunched together, indicating smaller rooms, while others were further apart. She placed her hand on the doorknob of one of them, taking in a deep breath and closing her eyes before she turned the knob and opened the door. It took a second or two before she opened her eyes and stepped in. The room was Victor's new office, which was furnished comfortably with the usual, desk, filing cabinets, couch and lounging chairs. There were shelves for a small medical library and a set of stairs. "Here is your office. Up the stairs you'll find your bedchambers and ensuite. Now I'll leave you to let you get yourself settled in."

I am a son of the Mountain.
Tesla enjoyed a warm smile when he heard the yelling of the gardener down below. Two points.

He followed the Queen, his hands slipping into the pockets of his labcoat as he did. As they moved through the palace Tesla began to soak in the interior and mold a forced taste for it. It was as all nobility's housing was, over the top in elegance and style. Though it was just enough to keep the Doctor from going crazy.

As she ushered him into the new office he wasted no time in making himself comfortable. Making his way over to the desk Victor pointed out a few things as he noticed them. "Nice size. Good spacing. And best of all it's not in the middle of the wing so I don't have to listen to every idiot who walks through the hall. It will do."

The Doctor slipped into his chair, propping his feet on the desk as he crossed his arms and leaned back in the chair. "Whatever you like, sweetheart." He immediately closed his eyes, deciding that a nap would be a good thing to invest in.

"You'll find that sound doesn't travel. The walls are pretty thick. Of course if an explosion or firefight broke out, that's a different thing entirely.

The staff will take care of your meals. Just let them know what you'd like.Have a good day and I'll see you in the morning."

At least [member="Victor Tesla"] didn't complain about the room. Kay left him to get himself sorted, though it already appeared that he was comfortable. Who knows what he'd be like in the morning....

******************

As promised, the very next day, Kay arrived at his office. It was mid morning, so not too early. Hopefully Victor was awake.

She knocked at the door and then opened the door, stepping inside. "Victor? Are you ready to see me?"

I am a son of the Mountain.
Victor had not budged from his spot in his office for the remainder of the evening. He slept through the evening until the early morning when finally his eyes opened on their own accord. The Doctor had shifted his position sometime in the middle of the night, moving from a leaned back position in his chair to practically laid down over the desk. Standing to his full height a drawn out yawn escaped the man as he turned towards the windows behind him.

After opening the windows Victor produced his cigarra container, igniting one of the small sticks as he leaned on the window frame.

Commenor. A planet he made no attempt to visit before taking this position, now this was his home, how peculiar. Victor took a long drag from his cigarra stick before turning back to his desk, tossing the container onto the piece of furniture. Just as he was about to activate his console he heard a soft knock erupt from his door. Immediately following the knock his door was opened and produced Lady Kay.

Why the hell do people knock if they just open the damn door anyway? The man thought, eyeing the woman curiously as he took another drag from his cigarra. "Don't you see all of these patients I have...?" He responded to her question sarcastically.

"Of course I can see you sweetheart. Take a seat." He slumped back into his desk before activating the console in front of him, activating a holoterminal feature within the desk. "I like to keep video records of my patients and their sessions. If anything in the future happens it could save your life, don't worry no one other than me will see it." He said the last part almost as if it was a burden for him to point it out. "Let's start with your profile. What's your age? Oh wait let me guess.....twenty-nine?" A curious brow was perked at her awaited response.

[member="Lady Kay"]

Kay smirked at his sarcastic wit. It wasn't as though she knew that no one else would be there. Nor did she know if [member="Victor Tesla"] was settled in enough to get the examination done and over with. But it seemed as though he was.

She sat down on the chair at the other side of his desk. She was about to protest at the mere thought of being recorded, especially if she was to refrain from keeping secrets from him. If someone was to get a hold of them, they could be used against her. Even Victor could do so. And she didn't like that idea, even with his assurance of the contrary.

Another smirk with roll of her eyes as he tried not to insult her with her age. Perhaps it was a test to see how truthful she'd be. "37 standard years. Height is 5'7", weight 130lbs. I'm not a vegetarian and I drink a lot of Sapir tea. Now if I find any of that on some dating holonet site, you'll be in big trouble."

I am a son of the Mountain.
As Tesla listened to the woman go through her basic height and weight measurements his eyes flitted over her, as if verifying all of the information. Though he had jokingly under aged her he had guessed she was in her mid to late thirties. When he found his analysis to be correct he simply leaned back in his chair once again, smiling somewhat triumphantly.

Her comment on her finding the information on a dating holonet resulted in a good natured snort that came erupted from the Doctor. "Damn, you caught me."

He propped his left leg up onto the desk while going over a few more questions in his mind, finally he brought them to life. "I assume you're human. Are you fully human or is there any alien DNA in your family?" As he asked the question he checked the timer on the holoterminal, glancing down to the desk to make sure he was keeping enough time in between questions.

"Any siblings? Children?" He asked in a nonchalant voice. As he looked over her she didn't particularly seem the "mommy" type but in the Doctor's experience you never really did know.

He took a good look at her eyes and held up his hand for silence. "Mrs. Kay's eyes are dark grey though there are yellow particles that can be seen within her eyes. Her hair is dark brown and at the time of this session it is past the bridge of her shoulders." He brought his hand down before looking to the woman with a tired expression. "Always forget that part. Now, What is your planet of origin and are your birth parents currently alive?"

[member="Lady Kay"]

Kay smirked a little as [member="Victor Tesla"] snorted. At least she lightened the mood a little bit. Or at the very least, eased some of her own tension.

She folded her hands on her lap in a bid to try to keep herself from fidgeting. To his question on her family's history, she shrugged her shoulders a little. "Fully human, as far as I'm aware. Though I haven't seen our family tree." There wasn't much about her family that she did know.

To his question of siblings and children, Kay chewed the inside of her cheek a little before answering. "One brother, he's older by a few years. No children. I'm not able to."

Then he mentioned her eyes. Right, she forgot that she wasn't wearing contacts. Wearing them had become a bit of a habit as of late. There are times among new people when she needed to hide her Force sensitivity.

"My birthplace? I was told Naboo, but I don't know how true that is. And why would my parents being alive or dead have anything to do with this?"

I am a son of the Mountain.
Tesla listened to the woman's answers without pause. He took special notice of any shifts she may have made when talking about her parents. Though Tesla was not a fully licensed psychologist he prided himself in understanding how the human brain worked. When she brought up her inability to reproduce Tesla glanced at her with an arched brow. "Barren? Is it a genetic deficiency or was it induced?" Even the Doctor knew a subject like that could be touchy for the most reserved of individuals, so he tried his hardest not to be completely negative.

There was a moment of pause as she said she was from Naboo. Tesla glanced up at her, for the first time the Doctor showed more emotion that most would consider possible with someone like him. Taking a rather prolonged drag from his cigarra he broke the moment of pause. "Understand something, Mrs. Kay. As your Doctor there is no information I take from you out of personal curiosity. Now that you're my patient I am responsible for your physical, mental, and emotional well being." After concluding the statement the Doctor flicked his ashes out of the window behind him.

"Now, you said you drink Sapir tea, are there any other herbs or teas you consistently take in? Any medications? Surgeries in the past twenty years? Also as far as your communing with the Force, would you say it is a hindrance or asset to your mental stability?"

[member="Lady Kay"]

Kay-Larr

Yes, she was barren. Not exactly a good thing for a Queen, or for her prospects in general. But it is what it is. "I'm not sure. I figured that I was born that way, but given that my father had me given up for adoption when I was very young and my Force sensitivity was discovered, I wouldn't put it past him to ensure that another like me doesn't pollute the bloodline."

There was a change in [member="Victor Tesla"] 's manner as she spoke of where she was born. It was curious to say the least. Maybe he had been on Naboo, or cared for someone that was from there, or was even born there himself. Regardless, it was nice to see something other than his bedside manner.

He sure had an odd habit of disposing his ashes out the window. Kay made a note to get him an ash tray.

She raised a brow slightly at the mention of tea. "I drink Sapir tea the most, perhaps five or six cups a day. No medications. And surgeries? I don't have an exact count on that. I was experimented on by an Arkanian scientist that wanted to study the extent of my healing abilities nearly 18 years ago. Then with my recent kidnapping...well...a lot was done to me. I'm sure that there was a lot of surgeries done to repair the damages. I don't think that my mental stability is connected to the Force. Only by the people around me. That's normal, isn't it?"

I am a son of the Mountain.
Victor listened to her words, reciting them to memory as they were spoken. The more that was said the more he was able to expand on her medical profile. He made a mental note of her having very little family information. It was one thing that could very well contribute to a deteriorating state of mind, not that she had one. When she came back with a question of her own his response was back to it's normal, dry manner. "Yes, those around you have a remarkably huge impact on your mental state."

pulling his foot from the desk and taking another quick drag of his cigarra the Doctor idly began to tap his wrist as if he was forgetting something. "So you have one older brother. Out of contact I assume. Your family and heritage is shaky at best and you have no ability to reproduce?" The words were not spoken in a manner hold condemnation or even a great deal of negativity. He was merely looking at things as he always did, through a medical eye.

"Ok, so let's move on to your physical stress. I need you to give me a list of your top five worst injuries you've experienced in your life. Try to remember these need to be physical injuries." He exhaled before ashing out of the window once again, as he returned he adjusted his glasses and gestured towards the woman. "Oh, also take your clothes off, I'll need to conduct a physical and I'd like to knock out two birds with one stone." The Doctor's tone was nonchalant and monotone, showing there was no indication of a joke as he spoke to the woman.

Kay nodded to [member="Victor Tesla"] 's points on her brother, her lack of family connections, as well as her inability to produce. Only perhaps by cloning would she ever be able to 'have a child' in some way.

"Five worst injuries?" She asked not only him, but herself. It was difficult to narrow it down, especially given her recent capture. "Off the top of my head, and in no particular order...I had all of the bones in my limbs broken, been beaten to the point of organ failure, whipped with barbs so badly that my flesh was pealing off my back, burned by electric currents and...I don't want to try to remember any more. I was never allowed to pass out until after the doctors brought me back from the brink of death."

At his request for her to take her clothes off, she hesitated. Kay was a modest person and didn't often undress with anyone nearby. But...he did need to see the scars or anything else that she wasn't able to heal herself. She looked to him."Right here? Do you have to record it? If a slicer hacked into your system and got a hold of it..." Blackmail. She could see there being a lot of blackmail.

I am a son of the Mountain.
As Kay listed off the things that had happened to her he exhaled, holding his hand up for her to stop speaking. "After all of that where do you feel your mental health is? On a scale of 1-10, how close do you believe you are to having impairing mental problems?" Tesla glanced over to her out of the corner of his eyes. He did not wait for a response before glancing down to his cigarra which was close to it's end. The doctor stood up, leaning on the window sill as he mashed the ignited tip of the cigarra against the window's exterior. "Honestly I'm surprised you're even coherent with all that happening to you."
