[member="Victor Tesla"] was smoking. So that was one of the two, anyways. Although him napping might have given her the excuse needed to avoid the appointment altogether. But that just wasn't meant to be.

Kay walked over to the chair opposite of his desk and sat down, crossing her feet at the ankles after tucking them under her seat. She folded her hands together, interlocking her fingers as she placed them on her lap. "I'm okay...I really miss my tea though." Yet she had been without it before, during her captivity. It was her crutch however, always had been for as long as she could remember.

"How're you?" Small talk. Gotta love the small talk.

I am a son of the Mountain.
Victor's hand came over his mouth to stifle a rising yawn. After recovering the Doctor clamped his cigarra in between his teeth as he leaned back in his chair comfortably. Something about him seemed slightly mellow, showing maybe there was an actual person under the anger, annoyance, sarcasm, and cigarra smoke that was his exterior. "Been better. Your Medical wing is a joke and the current staff is lazy as hell."

He took a soft drag from the cigarra before exhaling the smoke into the air. "Oh, I ordered your meds today so they'll be here tomorrow. Also I already cross checked your precious tea with all of the medicinal records. You'll need to try not to consume more than four cups a day but you can still drink it."

"Anyway let's get to it." The Doctor muttered before starting to sift through the papers and datapads that crowded his desk.

"Let's start with your childhood, I'm sure that's a fun story. Tell me about it." He said, as his hand continued to search his desk hoping to find whatever he was looking for.

Kay smirked as [member="Victor Tesla"] criticized the medical wing and her staff. "Well, why else do you think I was hiring someone to help fix it all up?"

A sigh of relief passed through her lips as he gave her the best news of the day. She can drink her tea!!!! Four cups was about her average anyways, so it was all good. "Oh thank you." Kay dug into her pocket and produced the rest of the caffeine pills that he had given her yesterday. She plopped them onto his desk. "Here you go. I won't be needing them anymore."

She folded her hands on top of her lap again, watching him as he seemed to be searching for something or other. "My childhood? I was dropped off at an orphanage on Naboo when I was young. It wasn't so bad. I learned what I could, made friends, did all of the usual stuff. It wasn't bad as far as childhoods go."

Kay's response to Victor's question was about what he expected. Bare bones and straight to the point. Not that it was necessarily a bad thing but he knew there would have to be more to her childhood than that.

"So do you remember any of your childhood friends? Any school's you particularly liked?" Again his tone was rather friendly, a bit out of character for the naturally irate Doctor. He took another drag from his cigarra before ashing it out the window once more.

Returning to his desk he exhaled a bit, still seeming to be looking for something that was not yet revealed to him. "Ok...so if there isn't much to be said about your time as a child what about Naboo? Were their any places you really enjoyed? My Wife and I liked walking the banks Solleu river whenever we had time."

Tesla seemed to be running low on patience as he searched and searched. Eventually he used his arm to sweep over the table, forcing all of the papers and datapads to the ground beside the desk. Though it was done in a calm manner there was a supreme look of defeat and annoyance on his face.

Kay shook her head a little. "I don't remember anyone, no. Just bits and pieces of little events, playing games, running and playing in the woods. Every orphan wants to be adopted, I just wasn't one that was picked. But that was okay. I helped to look after those that were there.

[member="Victor Tesla"] asked her about where she liked to go. He spoke of walking along the river. Kay's expression soon went blank as she thought about Naboo, but not in her distant past. It was more recent than that, but still in her past. There was an invasion by the Techno Union, aided by a man whom once was her boss. It was all for the good of the people, she was told. Yet people were taken hostage, sent to prison camps, their homes and possessions confiscated. She tried to stop it, blew up some of the war machines, but it was of no use. Naboo was outmatched.

Still keeping to that memory, she asked Victor a question instead. "What's it like on Naboo now? Is it still under occupation? Or is it peaceful now?"

I am a son of the Mountain.
Tesla paused to consider Naboo. During his time on the planet the occupation hadn't yet taken place. He tapped his fingers on the desk before exhaling softly. "Last time I was there was right before the occupation. It was a while ago."

The Doctor paused for a moment, contemplating Naboo as a genuine smile came over his face. "I assume you went to Theed? I think out of all the cities I've been to that's the one that I actually liked."

Moving on, Tesla considered her words about her childhood. The fact the woman could not remember anything other than basic facts could mean something the Doctor hoped was not the case. He decided to skip forward a bit. "Ok, moving out of your early childhood what about your first time leaving Naboo? Where did you go and why?'' The Doctor questioned

Kay nodded a little, leaning back in her chair a bit as she thought back on it. "Theed was very pretty. We got to visit it a few times, usually for the election ceremonies." Maybe that was where her interest in politics started, seeing that no one had to be highborn to govern.

[member="Victor Tesla"] changed topics slightly, still delving into her past, causing her to think about things that she hadn't thought of in years. "My first trip? I don't remember...When we got old enough and had some credits, we booked transport to wherever we could afford looking for adventure. I met my late husband during one of those trips. We first bumped into eachother on Coruscant, then Yutan and others. Those were the fun and carefree days...." She smiled a little to herself as she thought back on it. If only things had remained that way.

I am a son of the Mountain.
Tesla knew better than most that taking trips down memory lane can be both painful and enjoyable. So far they seemed to not hint into anything that was directly damaging to the woman. His eyes watched her closely, how she would shift as she talked, how the pitch in her voice may change depending on the memory. Though the smile that the woman produced was one of the first thinks he took note of. Taking one of his blank datapads into his hand he quickly input a few things before setting it back onto his desk.

"So why don't you tell me about how you met your husband, his name may be a good start." The man approached, rocking in his chair steadily as he fell into his own train of thought.

It's possible she is suppressing her memories....Suppressing more recent memories can result in accidentally damaging your older memories as well. He exhaled before listening for her response.

Normally when she spoke of her late husband, it was usually about the circumstances surrounding his death. Sometimes she would get to talk of other things about him, but normally it was always focused on his death.

"His name was Shaw-Ku. We were both young, in training for our fields. We met at a club. His Master tried to get him to intimidate me, to pick a fight. But I denied him that and showed him no fear even as he thrust his lightsaber into the wall beside my head. That earned his respect. Over time that respect grew." Shaw was her protector and strategic mind when it came to military operations and special ops. What she had learned from him helped her greatly in her slave liberations. It helped save her from getting caught. But now that she had such a high position, getting caught was quite easy.

Tesla stood up, drawing his back into a tight stretch before gesturing for [member="Lady Kay"] to continue, not wanting his movements to cut her off. The Doctor began to search through the pile of paperwork on the floor before finally finding a sheet of paper that he had been searching for. Placing the paper on the desk he exhaled a bit before listening to the rest of Kay's story.

"Shaw-ku, that's an interesting name. Was he Atrisian?" Victor questioned with a curios arch of the brow.

The Doctor produced a pen from his pocket, jotting down a few things before leaning back in his chair. "Ok, so you two met in a club. Why don't you tell me about your marriage itself? Did you have a ceremony?"

Kay shook her head, idly watching as [member="Victor Tesla"] rummaged around to look for something. "No, he was from Bakura." That was part of the reason that she loved that planet so much. They had a cabin there, and it was also where she got her supply of Sapir leaves from.

So it was a piece of paper that he was looking for. She didn't bother snooping as to what he was writing. More than likely she wouldn't like it anyways. "We had a small ceremony, just with a few friends. Our marriage was good for the most part. It wasn't until his killer came into our lives that things started to fall apart." Kay tried to keep it all together during that time. But it didn't work.

Kay fidgeted with her fingernails. She had to relive his death over and over again during a part of her captivity. It was easier right now just to try to shut that all out.

I am a son of the Mountain.
Victor had searched for the paper for the sole reason of having something to write Kay's most noticeable irritants. Though he had a thousand datapads he personally preferred paper to everything else. The Doctor adjusted his glasses before arching a brow at the woman. "Came into your lives? I'm guessing whoever killed your husband wasn't just some guy?" Victor prodded, a curios tone overlaying his voice.

Though he was curious of that he wanted to try and stay out of Kay's husband for now, allowing her to ease into it. "Anyway we can talk about that a bit later. So how did you become a Queen?" He asked, his pen hovering over the piece of paper as he did.

Kay shook her head a little. No, the killer of her husband wasn't just some guy. If only it was so simple as that. Just the very fact that he could be pulling her strings even now, was something that had crossed her mind a time or two, especially during her captivity. But to what end? She hadn't a clue.

[member="Victor Tesla"] then changed the topic brought her discomfort, if only because quite a few had been asking her the very same thing, focusing on the deaths of the Elders most especially. Kay let out a heavy breath, not really a sigh, just moreso a breath of slight frustration on the topic. "After my release from captivity, I went straight to the Elders. They died soon after and given that I was the President, and that they had no heirs, the mantle of ruler fell to me. Though instead of hiding away like I did, I chose to be out in the open."

I am a son of the Mountain.
Tesla, who was ignorant of Commenor as a whole decided this may also be a time for him to educate himself. "Elders? Sorry I don't really know much about this planet aside from it has crappy cigarra's and you're the Queen."

Adjusting his glasses once again Tesla leaned back in his chair, a weak smirk on his face as he spoke. "Matter of fact when I saw that this place was looking for a new Head Doctor I had to search the holonet just to find out where this planet was. I don't usually venture out to foreign planets without reason."

The words rang of truth though the Doctor had been to far more planets than he let on. In fact the entire reason he was surprised he had never heard of Commenor was because he had been to many of the neighboring systems before for one reason or another. Victor shrugged before continuing his line of questioning. "So you became Queen? What were some of the things you changed? You don't seem the coasting type."

Kay was surprised that [member="Victor Tesla"] hadn't heard the the Elders. But then again, she wasn't too surprised. Commenor was just outside of the Core, the population was small and they didn't do much to get in the way of the Galaxy's affairs. The Commenori stayed home when it came to war. And when war came to them, plans were set to get everyone to safety. It had worked smoothly when their system was attacked during her election campaign to be President. So her confidence in her little world was well placed.

The subject changed slightly and she was grateful for it. Kay sat up a bit as she spoke. "Well, I cracked down on the criminal underground more. And instead of just incarceration, the prisoners work in the mines." Of course if they caused too much trouble, then they were executed, but she didn't touch on that. "There were Ministers and others, I call them the Loyalists, they objected to my rise in power, so they were arrested and now live off planet somewhere. A Jedi negotiated their release. But our economy still grows each day, as does the new businesses and allies that we gain. We are still seen in a good light. People respect our neutrality."

Even Victor could admit he was mildly impressed by the Woman's capacity to handle the position of queen. He knew there was no way in thirty-two hells that he could even begin to dip his hands into such a destructively painful world. To be a politician was bad enough, but to be a Monarch was another beast entirely.

"So what the hell made you agree to be Queen? Seems like a lot of work for little reward." The Doctor questioned, his tone showing an extreme dislike for politics and it's muddled world.

"I don't know, maybe I'm being hypocritical. Being a Doctor isn't exactly the most reward profession either." He muttered, placing his chin in his hand before continuing.

"So what do you think is your biggest challenge as Queen?"

[member="Lady Kay"]

Kay clenched her jaw as [member="Victor Tesla"] asked her why she agreed to become Queen. It wasn't as though she had a choice in the matter. She wanted to tell him as much, but thought better of it. No need to get into that right now.

Victor changed the subject anyways, commenting on his own profession. Being a doctor did have it's rewards; every life saved, every wpund healed was a victory. Surely he saw that? Maybe it was too commonplace now.

Then he asked her another question. Kay tilted her head to the side a bit while she thought it over. "The stress. I'm at a bit of a disadvantage given my situation. There are always those that want to argue and it's a fine line between making them change their minds or removing them from the picture permanently. It's not exactly a job that I can walk away from." Well she could, but that would leave a real mess in her wake. Commenor could suffer badly as a result.

I am a son of the Mountain.
Victor gave off a slight shrug when she spoke about walking away from her job. He glanced back over to her before shaking his head. "No I suppose it's n-" Before the Doctor could finish his words he began a small fit of coughing, pulling his hand to his mouth to cover it as he did. Once the fit had ended he adjusted his glasses before simply looking back to [member="Lady Kay"] "Tell you what. Let's call it a day. I'm hungry and out of cigs."

That was not the entire truth but it was enough of it that Victor felt no need to explain any further. The Doctor absently rubbed his chest as he leaned back in the chair. "Besides we don't want to go over too much in any one time."

Kay-Larr

Kay blinked as [member="Victor Tesla"] began coughing. Perhaps he had one too many cigs. She wasn't quite sure how long he had been smoking them, but his addiction was far worse than her own addiction to Sapir tea. Perhaps it was his small comfort, as the tea was hers.

She got to her feet, in no way wanted to argue and encourage him to make her stay. This session was probably going to be the easiest of the bunch, and the sooner that it was over, the better.

"Not a problem. When did you want to see me again? In a few days?" More than likely he'd say sooner than that, but she could be hopeful. Who know what he'd be like if she ever missed one of his appointments. More than likely he'd be even grumpier, if such a thing was even possible.

I am a son of the Mountain.
Tesla took a moment of pause as he considered her next session. The Doctor still had to finish setting up the hospital as well as procure the medications for [member="Lady Kay"]. His hand went to his coat pocket, pulling out his cigarra container and prying the seal open. Setting a cigarra in between his lips he let out another cough, forcing him to catch the cigarra in his hand before placing it right back.

"Let's say five days. Gives me three to go through the medical wing and two to recover from the idiots in said wing." He stated with a rather exasperated look on his face. However that, again, was not the full truth. But it was enough. "Next time I'll have your medication and we'll talk more about your late husband. See you later, princess." He offered a mock wave as he lit the cigarra.
