Pale Demon (Maja)

Remy looked at her master as she was talking about the crystal that she would need to find not make a real one that had her interest rising. She wasn't certain if she knew how to construct a saber ot with its tiny parts but she had a few ideas of what she could do with it. "Understood my master." There was a look at her blades though while she bowed. "I do not know, my king sought to raise us up within the One Sith and bring back the might of the old ones. He believed the sith were powerful but only the purebloods could truly bring the needed conflict to evolve and press them into something more dangerous. Conflict after all culls the weak and brings forth the most powerful." She stood back up while rolling her shoulders. "The magics of the sith, not just what we knew but what the human's created as well. That is what I seek should I prove worthy."

“I owe a lot of my Abilities to another time – as are some of my philosophies. The One Sith have strong leadership that ensures the Sith do not quickly turn against one another, further weakening the Order. My approach is simple. To chose an Apprentice that will grow beyond what I am capable of. To pick the strongest and worthiest to one day surpass my abilities.”

“One day I shall die, but the Sith will live on.”

“A saber is part of my arsenal. Not the main part, but a necessary one. Weaknesses undo us in the end. We cannot afford them. And I cannot be focused or even bothered about a concept of a special race. I am Vahla – but that is just part of who I am. The power of the Dark-side should not be dispersed among the masses – you are right. It should be concentrated on the few that are worthy. Yes, conflict is one means. Arduous trials are another.”

“Power comes with a price. It is a burden. It demands sacrifice. You seem willing and able to meet the challenge, but we shall see.”

“Now, to your training.” Darth Zilti scanned the room, as if looking for inspiration. “Actually, to truly understand what it means to be a Sith, you need to understand the Code. Not recite it! Any trained monkey can do that. I mean understand its meaning. For that delivers what I suspect you seek. But the Dark-side will devour those who are unable to truly control it. So tell me what the Code says to you.”

Darth Zilti felt it was an appropriate way to spend the time. It was required if the next steps were to have any meaning.

The way her master was speaking about the code had Remy wondering more curious now. The old tongue didn't have codes or ways, her mouth rolled around more of the words as she remembered what the king had taught them in the palace. "Dzworokka yun; nyâshqûwai, nwiqûwai. Wotok tsawakmidwanottoi, yuntok hyarutmidwanottoi." She said it not fully understanding the rule of two as he had put it but he had then wanted and gotten the ones there to fight with the victor having a chance to serve as his apprentice. NOw she was standing a little taller looking over her master.

"There is no code among my people, that was created by the humans who came." She didn't know the sith code she knew the Sith traditions and lifestyle some of the human's had intermingled into and this was a vahla which she had never encountered... Their species looked human same as some others.

Maja looked at the girl. It hadn’t occurred to her that she didn’t know the Code. It’s words – in and of themselves – meant nothing. But the concept behind the Code was – in Maja’s mind – core to being a Sith. The fact that each line built on the previous. The steps required to move forward – it all mattered and was relevant to the girl’s training.

Maja rummaged in a drawer and pulled out a datapad. “Read this. The words are there but the meaning will take some thought. I shall return in an hour. And I shall have questions.”

Her tone was not dismissive but it was clear she expected her Acolyte to study – and to take instruction.

Remy looked at her master and as she took the datapad her head tilted a little to it. She was saying the words in basic and then spoke as her master was leaving. She knew this... but it wasn't a code it was a doctrine... Perhaps time had changed it from what the old tongue called it. "Qotsisajak." She said the word while moving to a section of the room and sat down looking over the datapad and the 'code' as her master had called it. Something these human's lived by or vahla lived by. She would need to make sure she remembered that distinction while saying the words now out loud.

"Nwûl tash. Dzwol shâsotkun. Shâsotjontû châtsatul nu tyûk. Tyûkjontû châtsatul nu midwan. Midwanjontû châtsatul nu asha. Ashajontû kotswinot itsu nuyak. Wonoksh Qyâsik nun." She said it while going into the words and then in basic with the translated section of it. "Peace is a lie, there is only passion. Through passion, I gain strength.Through strength, I gain power. Through power, I gain victory. Through victory, my chains are broken. The Force shall free me." She was thinking about what it meant and she understood using her emotions and passions to empower herself.

There was a grin on her face while she was making mental notes of the words and what it meant more to her and following her peoples ideology strength, conflict, power were all important. Her chains were there with this language barrier that was crafted with her species being near extinct and the lack of skills compared to her master.... She would break these and seek to empower herself. She would learn what she could from her master and the talents she had to share and mold her with.... One to seek power.

This was no going to be a long lesson. In truth, you could tell someone what the Code meant but they didn’t have to believe you. It was in many ways personal – but the consistent message was that it was necessary to position yourself as an Acolyte on a journey to become a Master. To both seek and achieve the freedom spoke of.

So Maja returned, feeling a little like a schoolteacher but believing the teaching was a necessary part of their relationship. Just as she’d referred to the Code as she’d progressed thus far, she expected her Acolyte to do the same.

“OK, I’m not planning on analysing the thing line by line. Instead I simply wish to know what the Code says to you. If and how you will use it. No more and no less.”

Remy rose up when she was watching her master reenter the room with her standing tall and setting the datapad over to the side. She had been working on memorizing and thinking about it. There was always more and when it came to a person thinking about it... Remy looked at her master letting her eyes lock before she spoke. "That the human's who made it got the idea of my people but needed more then it just being a way of life to understand. These words are true of what must be done to become stronger and advance. I also looked at these rule of two and it seems amusing." Yes she had more pride but from reviews of the code and looking into it... there was a great deal of it from how her people lived and were emulated by some of these creatures. "I believe learning from you to gain power and strength until the times comes to break such a chain will be a welcomed experience."

Maja smiled. As summaries of the Sith Code went, it wasn't bad at all.

'The Jedi are doomed to failure because they are weak," she said. "Only the strong survive, and the Force will make you strong. A Sith knows when to unleash the fury of the Dark-side," she informed her, "And when to hold back. Patience can be a weapon if you know how to use it, and your anger can fuel the Dark-side if you learn how to control it."

"And you would do well to be wary of me. But not afraid. The only thing I want you to be afraid of is failure."

"Now...I shall be busy until we reach Dagobah. Until then, read from the notes I have shared and prepare yourself. Learn to connect with the Force so that you can call on it as and when you need it. Because believe me, you will need it."
