BREAKING NEWS: Historic Shift in Governance on New Cov as Nora Laan Triumphs in Democratic Elections

Ilic, New Cov — A new era begins today on New Cov, as Nora Laan has been declared the winner of the planet's first-ever democratic elections, marking the end of the New Cov Biomolecule Corporation's centuries-long corporate rule, most recently under Director Liin Terallo. The shift in governance has sent ripples across New Cov, signaling a move towards a more inclusive, people-powered future for the neutral planet.

Laan's victory also ushers in a new administration, one that promises greater transparency and public involvement in planetary affairs.
"This is a victory for the people of New Cov," Laan declared in her acceptance speech. "We are charting a path forward where the voices of all citizens matter. Our new government will be one of fairness, progress, and unity."

Meanwhile, in a separate but significant move, the New Cov Biomolecule Corporation is merging with the N&Z Umbrella Corporation, with Terallo taking on a new leadership role at the helm of N&Z Laboratories. The merger is seen as a strategic move to consolidate power in the corporate sector while Laan's new government navigates the political landscape.

A grand ceremony to mark the occasion is taking place in the domed city of Ilic, where leaders, dignitaries and others from across the galaxy have gathered. The event will include a formal inauguration of Nora Laan, followed by a grand celebration featuring a dance with an open bar. In a nearby complex, visitors can enjoy shopping, additional bars, and an extensive business expo showcasing the latest advancements in technology, pharmaceuticals, and corporate innovation. Above the expo is where gamblers and drinkers can make their wagers and enjoy the local spirits.

Despite the joyous occasion, security remains paramount. As New Cov is considered neutral territory, fleets of security ships are stationed in orbit, with ground forces ensuring that the event is not disrupted by any conflicts between warring factions.
"We will ensure that peace is maintained," said Security Director Sael Vantor. "New Cov remains a sanctuary for all, regardless of allegiances."

This historic day is expected to set the tone for future galactic diplomacy, and the galaxy is watching closely as New Cov embarks on this unprecedented new chapter.

Stay tuned for further updates from Ilic as the celebrations unfold.

OBJECTIVE 1: CEREMONY AND DANCE.

The inaugeration of Prime Minister Nora Laan is taking place at Ilic's City Hall, which will be then followed by a dance. Pick your partner and move to the music! Guests are also welcomed to the open bar and tables of refreshments. Balconies offer stunning views of the city, as well as a little bit of privacy from the crowds.

OBJECTIVE 2: SHOPPING AND BUSINESS EXPO.

Adjacent to City Hall is the Convention Center with shopping, food and also it is where foreign companies are welcomed to showcase their wares to prospective clients. If you've got credits to spare, items/services to sell, this is the place to be!

ZKHh3ne.png

OBJECTIVE 3: DRINKING AND GAMBLING

On the upper floors of the convention center is the Ilic City Casino where guests can drink to their heart's content and take a chance with Lady Luck at the numerous card tables, slots and dice games!

OBJECTIVE 4: BYOO

Bring your own objective! However I do caution you on stepping outside of the protective domes. The jungles are full of dangerous flora and fauna. And it is for a VERY good reason that the populations of New Cov are safely residing within the domes.

Hello everyone! Seeing in the LFG that there is a potential for violence, which I am okay with as long as both parties agree, I do ask that no acts of terrorism be commited! This is a perfect opportunity for espionage, battles of wit and wisdom, and of course for fun! Please enjoy yourselves responsibly, ha ha! ;)

Also I'd like to give a HUGE shoutout of gratitude and thanks to Jonah Jonah for creating the graphics <3

Nora Laan

Prime Minister of New Cov
OLvqnyL.png

OBJECTIVE: 1

Newly elected Prime Minister Nora Laan stands close nearby the stairs of the small stage that was created just for this event. Her gown chosen for this evening glitters in black and gold, not only to go with her golden curls, but also to signify a new beginning and a new era for New Cov.

Cradling a glass of red wine in her hand, Nora quietly observes both the staff and guests alike as they begin to step into the grand hall. Her eyes are full of hope, of joy, as well as a slight hint of nervousness. It is what one can expect from a newly elected politician.

The former mayor of Ilic City ran her campaign well and she looked forward to the new path that lay ahead of them. One could argue that the whole event was a waste of taxpayer's money, however NCBC and the Terallo family fronted the costs. So it was a celebration for all of the Covie. And she was eager to get started to mingle with all of the guests.

Thel was on a mission, though he was doing his best to hide it. He wove between the crowds of people, dodging droid servers and bureaucrats, all the while scanning the crowds for a certain someone. Well, any one from a family of someones, actually.

It had been a week since Lord Omri Lord Omri tasked him with investigating the merger with N&Z, starting with the Terallos. Thel wouldn't have even been able to attend this party if it hadn't been for the old man getting him an invitation. He caught a few of the fancy guests staring at him, but overall his presence drew a lot less attention than he'd feared. In fact, most of these people were too busy focusing on his Aunt Meleena Bloodscrawl Meleena Bloodscrawl , whose beauty and charm attracted the elites like moths to a flame.

That freed him up to look for the Terallos. Ar'chii and Liin seemed the most likely candidates to have information to share, though Thel wasn't sure if Ar'chii was even in attendance. Liin definitely was here, but he wasn't sure if he'd be allowed anywhere near her. Hell, he couldn't even guarantee she'd be willing to speak to him. He was just a kid, after all.

Thel underestimated himself terribly; while he still felt like a kid on the inside, he was a lot more grown up than he realized. He only felt inferior because he spent most of his time around older adults. Yet if he were to interact with someone his own age, he'd probably have an even harder time relating to them.

With his search having thus far proved unsuccessful, he made his way over to the craft table, grabbed a plate and piled it high with refreshments. These days he was almost always hungry. Even if he didn't accomplish anything here, he would at least eat well.

OLvqnyL.png

OBJECTIVE: 1

To say that I am looking forward to this evening is an understatement. In truth I had been carefully planning it for weeks. Shuklaar Kyrdol Shuklaar Kyrdol and his forces were set to handle the security, and there is little doubt in my mind that some of my guests will be bringing their own. However I do not anticipate vioilence; that is unless some guests have a bit too much to drink, of course. But still it is better to be safe than sorry.

I chose a silver gown with a long train for my attire for this evening, accompanied by a beaded cap and a black feathered fan. Amongst my jewelry I wear my special Covines Ring, which I find could be very useful this evening. Even though I lack the right eyesight to properly see the ring's full potential, I can at least see some of it's advancements.

I give Nora Laan Nora Laan a small dip of my chin followed by a small smile. This night was for the both of us, however I am more than willing to allow her to be the focus for the guests this evening. With the seperation of some of my duties, perhaps I will be able to enjoy a dance or two. Who my dancing partners will be is anyone's guess, but I am promising myself that it will be a delightful evening.

My curiosity is drawn to a young man filling his plate with food. I do not recognize him, yet he is dressed for the event. With an amused smile I approach him and speak quietly to him in a bid to offer him some advice; "You should pace yourself. I can guarantee that the platters will be refilled throught the evening."

New Cov. Nyles didn't know what it was about New Cov that inspired people to be such di'kute. The company had underestimated the extent of the protection contract that they had required. Not anymore. New Cov had a Strill fleet in orbit, but today was a special day, and the alor wanted nothing to go wrong, so Nyles had promised to oversee things personally. In so far as the situation in the air and in orbit was concerned in any event. Anyone that wanted to start something today was going to have to go through them, and that wasn't a tasking that he'd wish on his worst enemy. New Cov was a neutral planet, however, and there were a few people expected to show up that the company had been...less than conciliatory with before. That was the reality of this business however, as long as they didn't try to start something, there would be no issues.

The entire formation's complement of stealth, stealth-detecting RP-01S 'Sur'ulur' Recon Probes were spread out with minimally overlapping sensor fields to cover as much space as was possible. The slack was picked up by the long-range detection stealth-detection suites on the Morut, Gra'tua and Verdyc. The formation's corvettes had paired off and were split about four ways between providing in-atmosphere security for the event, close-in security for the formation, patrolling and being held in reserve as a rapid response formation. A squadron of fighters, droid-fighters, fighter-bombers and super-heavy bombers from the Morut, Gra'tua and Verdyc were all tasked handling close-in security for the event around the capital. Thanks to the 'Manda' battlenet, Nyles saw everything his units saw.

"Everything's in place, alor," informed Emri, his XO, from across the main display. "Someone tries something, we'll know it." Nyles wrenched his attention from the display for a moment to look back up at her buy'ce. Emri had a point, this kind of event? There was no shortage of chakaare who wanted what New Cov had. Then there was the chakaare who just wanted to start osik for the supposed fun of it. He wagered those sorts never had to do the mind-shattering math behind the logistics of it all. The company had developed a highly complicated jump schedule program just to handle it all.

"You know, I'd much prefer if someone didn't, but then again, we wouldn't get paid like we do," he responded with a laugh. Those were the unavoidable facts. Not that he minded, really. It kept food and gal in their bellies, ammunition in their guns and fuel in their ships. Truth be told, he had no shabla clue what else he'd do. Though a break would be nice. Mandalorian society for the most part was built around enjoying the breaks in routine, in conflict. Manufacturing and farming too, but those largely existed to feed the ability to fight. As far as he was concerned, no matter how many times the aruetii had tried to tell them otherwise, there was nothing wrong with that. After all, how was fighting other people's wars any more morally irreprehensible than starting those conflicts?

"That Mereel guy knew what he was doing when he wrote the codex, alor," said Emri, echoing the last thought he had. He supposed that's what happened when you knew someone that long. The SuperCommando codex really did capitalize on the fact that Mandalorians weren't the only ones with long memories and short fuses. Not to mention every other combination that led people to wage war against each other. The galaxy really did have enough wars for them to fight. Just maybe for one night, however, regardless that he was getting paid for the eventuality that something would happen, he hoped something wouldn't. Nyles just nodded in response and returned his attention to the display.

Karl was seated in his Courier-Class Yacht's captain's chair watching the stars streak by as his vessel barreled toward New Cov. He had wanted to stay on the planet after his meeting with Liin Terallo Liin Terallo , but was unfortunately called back to deal with an issue at the Dac shipyards, someone had unintentionally unplugged a server after issuing an update causing several issues to happen, but it was all solved before the party started.

Karl had chosen a unique black floral patterned suit as his evening attire, he wasn't representing the Empire of the Lost in a large capacity tonight, so no pressed military uniforms and high boots. But he still wore a pin on his lapel of his Empire's sigil, laurels and all. Above it was another pin from the company he was representing, N&Z Umbrella Corporation, specifically the EnSol branch. He was the Director of it after all, a prestigious position granted to him by the Marquis Tertius C. Nargath Tertius C. Nargath . Prestigious enough for him to make an appearance, his first appearance as Director, at a social event such as this.

His ship dropped out of hyperspace and transmitted his clearance codes to the Strill Securities fleet. He didn't have any worries about being stalled and would make his way to Ilic, after being sent approval from the fleet. After landing he would make his way to where all the festivities were happening, City Hall. Stepping through the threshold followed by his unstealthed security, C1RC3 (her 'attire'), Karl would give a nod to Liin if he caught her eye, but would make his way to the bar and ask the barkeep,

"Hello there, could I get a gin and tonic; less gin, more tonic, please? I don't want to be flabbergasted before the evening is through. Thank you." After receiving his drink he takes a long sip before heading into the crowd.

Valery stepped into the grand hall of Ilic City Hall, her Keshian dress flowing elegantly around her. The deep green fabric clung to her figure with a perfect blend of modesty and allure, accentuated by intricate golden details that caught the light as she moved. Her hair was swept back, allowing a few strands to frame her face, adding an effortless charm to her regal appearance.

Her hand slightly rested around Kahlil’s bicep as she led him through the bustling crowd. The atmosphere was vibrant, filled with dignitaries and guests celebrating the historic occasion. The hum of conversation, the soft clinking of glasses, and the distant sound of music from the dance floor filled the space, creating a lively backdrop.

Valery guided Kahlil toward one of the balconies, a serene escape from the busy main hall. From their vantage point, they could see the dance floor illuminated in warm lights, couples already swaying to the music.

Valery leaned against the railing, her amber eyes scanning the view before settling on Kahlil. “It’s incredible, isn’t it?” she began, her voice soft yet brimming with pride. “A first successful election. It feels like a true turning point for New Cov.”

She paused, her gaze drifting momentarily back to the crowd. “Who knows?” she added thoughtfully, her eyes meeting his again. “Maybe one day, this could lead to New Cov joining the Alliance.” A gentle smile curved her lips as she reached for his hand, squeezing it lightly. “What do you
think?”

Usually, Tertius would not care all too much for the whole idea of parties and soirées, but in this case he had a reason to show up. As it was partially in honor of the new representative government on New Cov, but also the inaugural party for Liin Terallo Liin Terallo 's entrance to the larger N&Z family, a company being led by what the Marquis of Valkan called his 'collection' in an affectionate manner. After all, he had and was still spending a lot of his time to get talented individuals into the company, allowing them to be free and in turn allowing his company to flourish. Lady Terallo was such an individual that had the potential to not only lead, but to create a new direction for the N&Z.

The chairman was quite proud though, the construction of the new Dome for the N&Z's permanent division on New Cov was well under way, with the foundation having been layed and the engineers and architects working dilligently to plan the layout perfectly. It was one of the things he wished to convey to his new associate at this party.

His arrival though, would not go unnoticed by Shuklaar Kyrdol Shuklaar Kyrdol 's effective and well known Strill Securities' cordon safeguarding the planet of New Cov, for the Marquis arrived in one of the N&Z's newest warships, adorned with the emblem of the N&Z, but also his personal sigil, denoting exactly who it was that approached the planet. There was little need for worry though, considering he had all the clearance necessary for approach and an orbiting position around New Cov, allowing a small shuttle to bring him to the planet's surface along with a small security detail in the form of his own Valkan Guards

Upon his arrival, there was no doubt some discussion he needed to conclude in regards to the stationing, the effective clearance, duties, and freedom of movement his personal guards would have...especially given the knowledge that not one, or two, but three members of the N&Z Board of directors were present and while he had faith in the current security of the party, one could never be completely certain. With the Valkan guards being extremely professional and thorough in their job, it shouldn't have been much of an issue. That said, when Tertius managed to have his detachment of guards accepted as additional security for the proceedings, he found himself walking into the grand city hall, greeting everyone as he calmly moved on to get himself a glass of wine to indulge himself a bit, dressed in his newest attire courtesy of Chi Chuchi Chi Chuchi 's boutique, with elegant black and navy blue undertones, with a broche displaying the House of Nargath and subsequently two pins denoting the N&Z and the teritory of Valkan all neatly adorning the left side of his chest.

From where he stood, Tertius motioned both Karl Von Strauss Karl Von Strauss and Liin Terallo Liin Terallo to come to him, as congratulations were in order.

I had a very long journey from Korriban to justify my trip with my wreck of a ship. I traveled to a planet in a neutral zone, which means weapons are banned here, whether for Sith, Republicans, or anyone else—ugh. I reluctantly leave my weapons in my ship's locker, sighing, as the ship descends into the atmosphere. I head to my wardrobe to change my appearance.

My student attire is replaced with a wealthy businessman's outfit. The delivery from Chi Chuchi's boutique arrived just in time. The ship reaches its assigned docking spot. I maneuver to dock the ship, and once it's landed, I step out of the airlock and take in the surroundings of New Cov. It's highly recommended not to leave the domes, at the risk of encountering the local flora and fauna.

I grab my travel bag, sling it over my shoulder, and head toward the location mentioned on my invitation ticket.

I arrive at what appears to be a large building, with guards at the entrance. I approach them with my hands in my pockets, keeping a neutral pace. As I get close, I'm confronted by the guards—they're not joking about security for this event. I look at the two guards pointing their blasters at me.

"You there, state your identity. I hope you have an invitation? Coming here like that…"

"Relax, I have an invitation. Here it is." I rummage through my bag and hand them my official invitation card. The guards scan it to verify its authenticity. Then they hand it back to me.

"Our apologies, just a precaution. Please go through the security checkpoint. No weapons or illegal items on you?"

I go through the security scanner, which starts beeping. I search my bag and take out my datapad.

"Oops, it's just my datapad. Sorry. I'm allowed a means of communication, right? No, I don't have any weapons; we're in neutral territory here."

"Yes, you're allowed to have it. Glad to hear you say that. If you're not here to cause trouble, then you're good to go. Thank you for your cooperation; enjoy your evening."

The guards let me pass, returning all my belongings. I'm now inside the festive venue. I put my bag back on my shoulder and sigh—a small victory. There are plenty of activities available, but first, I'd like to greet the host of this event—it's the least I can do.

Given the high-profile guests, it's no surprise that I got stopped by the guards at the entrance, considering my background. I send a message to the party organizer on my datapad. -Hello, I would like to meet you, where can I find you? Thank you.-

Sylvia Organa had been absolutely elated to be given an invitation to the inauguration of the next Prime Minister of New Cov. It was wonderful to get to witness their governmental setup in full swing. Of course, a definite priority of hers was to introduce herself to Nora Laan Nora Laan as a Senator for the Galactic Alliance and make connections so that the seed may be planted for them to want to become part of it as well in the future, however it wasn't a break all goal. Friendship and fun were the most important.

Being on a currently unaffiliated planet, though, she knew the dangers associated with her being present here. She'd had a target practically painted on her head for as long as she could remember, one that had only grown since becoming the current Senator of Alderaan. Nos had insisted that she wear a stealth armor body suit —practically invisible to the naked eye, but strong enough to protect against many forms of weaons— beneath the beautiful flowing blue gown with golden accents she had intended to wear, which of course she did, albeit begrudgingly. His judgment was one that she trusted above all else when it came to matters of protection in the end. With this and her chocolaty colored hair rolled into a couple of loose buns at her head, a simple golden tiara between them, she'd entered the hall.

She glanced at Nos, her arms around around one of his. A bright, warm grin graced her lips and her icy blue eyes sparkled with her joy. She had practically begged him to wear a nice suit, even had one made with a full armor weave and the crest of House Organa in the shoulder so he wouldn't have to wear his typical gear, which he looked dashing in. That being said, she knew for certain he was still armed to the teeth. That was his job, after all. "I know you're technically on duty, but let's have a little bit of fun tonight."

Sylvia then glanced around the room to take a look at everyone who had already arrived. There were plenty of faces she had yet to meet, but there was one who she recognized all too well, Valery Noble. So, the man with her was likely her husband. There was no harm in popping in to say hello before moving on to introductions to others. Besides, she wanted to get a good look at that view before the sun fully disappeared for the night.

Practically tugging Nos along with her to the balcony, she stopped at the edge only to admire what the planet had in natural beauty against the city, the sunlight casting golden hues across buildings and folliage. "Oh look at that, Nos, it's absolutely stunning!" Definitely worth the quick detour.

She then turned her attention to Valery and Kahlil, "Grandmaster Noble, wonderful to see you again. You look as lovely as ever. And you must be Master Noble then, a pleasure." She said, giving a quick bow.

New Cov was a place he'd now visited a handful of times. Each time he got to explore a different aspect of the world, which allowed him to dive deeper into its culture. This time, the reason for his visit was a formal dance and installation of a prime minister. If he'd had access to his formal clothing from back on Lazerian IV he'd have worn something befitting his station, something delineating his noble right, but that world was still unsafe for him at the moment, something he hoped to rectify relatively soon.

Balls like this were a good way to meet people, especially ones that could help. Caelan was hoping that, perhaps, some of the senators of the Alliance would be present so that he could speak with them. Getting an appointment was difficult, and with his own training he rarely had time to get away to even try to meet with them. Everyone had a busy life, except when something like this came up, and then they all seemed to have time for it.

He entered wearing a tailored suit, choosing to dress more aristocratically. There was dancing going on, and plenty of people milling about. Someone offered him a drink, but he could tell by the look of it that was alcoholic and so he politely declined before moving towards the bar to get a glass of water. His throat was parched, and if he was going to be speaking with people that wasn't a good thing. As he sipped the clear liquid, his eyes scanned the crowd, noting a few familiar faces, including that of Valery Noble Valery Noble and Liin Terallo Liin Terallo .

If nothing else, at least he new a few people there.

The news of NCBC’s merger with the N&Z Umbrella corporation was a pleasant surprise for Darth Reign. Two corporate allies coming together could only stand to benefit the Diarchy as well.

Reign had come alone, owing first to his friendship with Liin Terallo Liin Terallo . Dressed in a three-piece suit that matched the black and gold motif of his usual robes, he strode through the city hall, nodding politely to the guests.

The Diarch made his way to the bar, ordering a glass of Correllian Whiskey, a personal favorite of his. As he glanced around the party, he took note of a few familiar faces. Some more friendly to him than others.

As he locked eyes with the Chairman of N&Z Tertius C. Nargath Tertius C. Nargath he raised his glass in a small salute, honoring the momentous occasion for the other man.

Spying the newly elected prime minister Nora Laan Nora Laan standing near the stage, Reign made his way over. As he approached, he bowed low. Saying
“Congratulations on your election Prime Minister, this is truly a historical occasion for the Covie.” He smiled at the woman before continuing.

“my apologies my manners have left me again, My name is Lord Reign, I’m a friend of Liin Terallo Liin Terallo , it is a pleasure to meet you”

The Zeltron bodyguard of Lady Sylvia Organa Lady Sylvia Organa had intended to stay vigilant but soon found himself averting his eyes; an attempt to avoid eye contact from men, women, and species he didn't know how to identify. From every angle a face was always turning towards him as if they recognized him. He’d never any of met them, of course. The Madame Senator’s presence on his arm thankfully drove off all but the most bold of interested parties. Nos felt like he must be the only Zeltron in the galaxy that hated this kind of attention.

“These karking pheromones” Nos cursed under his breath.

He had lost control over their output years ago but it must be especially bad tonight. Perhaps the proximity of so many people or his own nerves made them especially potent today. The worst possible timing for a flare up.

Strangely, a passing glance led to eye contact of a different kind. Discerning, measuring, most certainly not a side effect of Nos's Zeltron biology. Despite only lasting a fraction of a second, Nos solidified the image of Darth Reign Darth Reign 's visage in his mind - there was a significance that Nos could not yet discern from the man’s glance.

"I know you're technically on duty, but let's have a little bit of fun tonight."
Sylvia’s voice pulled Nos from his thoughts.

“Of course Ma’am. A little bit of fun. Duly noted.” Nos teased, taking her suggestion as if it were an official order.
“You see them too, right?” Nos whispered, asking Sylvia as he quickly pretends to be looking past a Twi’lek he had accidentally made eye contact with.
“Tell me honestly, are the pheromones that bad right now, or is this normal for these kind of celebrations?”

"Oh look at that, Nos, it's absolutely stunning!"
Nos was thankful that Sylvia pulled him towards the balcony to observe the spectacular stellar rays illuminating the city. Her timing was immaculate -though likely accidental- as it dissuading the Twi’lek from approaching him.

Nos sighed in relief. The balcony proved to be a reprieve from the social anxiety of the dance room.

The view was nice, though the Senator’s excited gaze towards the city reflected the golden light better than any urban sprawl could.

Nos quickly turned his gaze away from Sylvia’s face before she could catch his stare.

He. was. on. Duty.
He needed to get back to acting like it too.

Nos noticed the couple nearby just before Sylvia turned to them.

"Grandmaster Noble, wonderful to see you again. You look as lovely as ever. And you must be Master Noble then, a pleasure."

Nos silently bowed a greeting - he recognized Grandmaster Valery by sight now and, by reputation, Kahlil Noble at her side.

Nos separated his arm from Sylvia when she approached them closer, trying to be discreet about keeping his distance considering his untimely pheromonal output issues.

“These karking pheromones” Nos muttered to himself again.

"You should pace yourself. I can guarantee that the platters will be refilled throughout the evening."

Startled, Thel turned to look at her, powdered sugar smeared around his lips. A beautiful woman stood before him, clad in a silver gown. Her blonde hair was crowned with a cap decorated with beads that shimmered in the light, and a black feathered fan fluttered in her hand like a raven’s wing. It took him a moment, but he soon recognized her. This was Liin Terallo. Liin Terallo had just walked up to him and started talking casually—

He could hardly believe this was happened, but he knew it was an opportunity he couldn’t afford to miss. Snapping his slack jaw shut, he plastered on a nervous smile. “Right,” he said, wiping his mouth. “I just, uh… Everything looks really good. I just had to sample it all.

the light at the end of the tunnel

It had been a long time since Ala had been to anything this fancy. As per usual, she felt altogether far too plain. She had dressed too simply compared to all the CEOs, aristocrats and politicians. It was not her scene. So she had determined to simply be comfortable.

Whenever there was a change in governance, especially a change in ideological norms, there was always a danger of unrest. As such, a Jedi presence during events like this was a must. It was not for her to interfere, but if others attempted to do so it was only fair that she be present to stop said interference. Surely that was not interference in and of itself? Right?

Right.

Whatever her justification, Ala did feel a tad nosey. Poking around areas that perhaps did not concern her. This was a place of subtlety, intrigue and Machiavellian schemes. It was decidedly not her scene.

From far across the room, she caught Valery Noble Valery Noble 's gaze and offered a playful wiggle of her fingers as a wave to her friend. Valery looked gorgeous, as always, and that only intensified Ala's insecurity. She should leave.

I should leave.

Instead of giving into her racing heartbeat, she took a moment to breath, calm herself and accept her reminder. This was a new experience. New experiences were good, and would help her grow. She couldn't cling to the life of the young Jedi Knight that was now so far behind her. She needed to reinvent herself.

As her gaze wandered over the dancing crowd, she caught sight of several important looking figures. Her senses spiked when she noted Darth Reign Darth Reign . Through narrowed eyes she determined to keep an eye on that one. With all that was transpiring here, any dark side influence would be a definite concern.

As she stared at the dark sider from across the room, she continued to walk through the crowd, her attention only refocusing on where she as as she nearly walked straight into an older gentleman. She blushed immediately.

"Forgive me, sir," she said, largely in deference to his being her elder.

Judah Dashiell Judah Dashiell Kahlil Noble Kahlil Noble Valery Noble Valery Noble

Once upon a time, she had thought herself quite clever working her way into events she wasn't supposed to attend. It had taken a great deal of effort and gifting. Now she found herself at the inauguration of a new planetary governor because Judah Dashiell was simply invited to such things.

She had picked out something quite plain, letting the contrast between deep blue and white do the visual work.

Azula was perfectly relaxed enjoying the music and a second glass of wine, but she couldn't help but notice the tension across Judah's brow as he saw something over her shoulder.

She didn't turn to look.

"Judah?"

One would think that a Sith would never tire of politics, a cunning game of manipulation and hidden daggers that, in theory, someone like Darth Anathemous would have excelled at.

But she wasn't most sith.

When the High Inquisitorial Governor of Echnos was informed that one of her secret "business" contacts, Liin Terallo Liin Terallo , was hosting a party on New Cov, she practically begged the order to approve a mission to the planet for "observation". Not to advance the politics of the empire, but rather to escape them for an evening.

It would have been the perfect vacation, one which looked productive to the inquisition on paper, but in truth gave her the perfect excuse to simply exist outside the purview of her dark lord for just one day, drinking, eating, dancing, whatever she could do to get her mind off the dark machinations Darth Carnifex Darth Carnifex would soon subject both herself and her apprentice to.

"I've yet to sense any of his lordship's agents here," she glanced down at Tamsin, pressing her black polished lips into a feint smile.

"We might actually be free to enjoy the party without his eyes upon us. I'm sure you could do with a break from training anyway."

Kaila exchanged a glance with the Mandalorian guards under the command of Nyles Kote Nyles Kote , although she didn't recognize their armor beyond those feint memories of their shared people which Carnifex hadn't fully erased via alchemy. A pang of guilt struck her as the duo passed them by, knowing her once-countrymen had probably seen the sith inquisitorial badge pinned to her dress. It served only to remind her that she had equally few friends here as she did in sith space, her complicated and secretive loyalties earning her the ire of people who should have been her allies, if only she would not be discovered for reaching out. A risk she could not take, both for her own sake and Tamsin's.

That conflicted feeling only seemed to amplify as the High Inquisitor entered the hall, approaching the dance floor. There were several force signatures that washed over her like a light suddenly burning within what was once a dark cavern. She didn't recognize Valery Noble Valery Noble or Kahlil Noble Kahlil Noble 's signatures, only that they were in stark contrast to her own, which reeked of dark power achieved by tethering many souls to one body, all previously powerful dark lords in their own right until she had consumed them.

And they could surely feel it too.

Carnifex had not taught her to hide her presence from the force, and perhaps wisely so for caution that any one of his apprentices could one day betray him in the night, just as they had done to her and she to them before slowly being eliminated by her own hand.

Perhaps she couldn't fault him for it, but it certainly made her life more difficult than it needed to be.

There were others of course, equally unfamiliar to the young darth, but it was that intense light which stood out to her the most.

"There is a Jedi here," she narrowed her golden eyes in the rough direction of the light's origins, even she couldn't quite place it to any one face.

"Perhaps a few, I am yet unsure. I do not think their order would openly attack you on neutral ground but some can be... unpredictable, and not always alliance affiliated. Best we act with caution."

Wearing a simple black tux, Judah thought he complimented Azula Tindara Azula Tindara well. Considering her skin tone, the simple white dress certainly stood out, creating a complimentary effect he couldn't keep his eyes off her for long. They had been invited due to his ties with Liin Terallo Liin Terallo and N&Z Umbrella Corporation to ring in the inauguration of Nora Laan Nora Laan .It would be a faux paus if he didn't attend, besides, a quieter night at an inauguration was needed after what happened on Mek-Sha.

Lowball glass in hand, he had been nursing his Corellian whisky as they talked, waiting for an opportunity to see either Miss Laan or Miss Terallo. Always a wait at events such as these, everyone wanted a chance to get their two credits worth in. To try to grease the palms of the government.

Frown came to his face thought at the sight of Valery Noble Valery Noble and Kahlil Noble Kahlil Noble .Why were they even here? He tried to remember if New Cov was a Galactic Alliance planet or currently independent. A blank was drawn.

Eyes found Azula's again and he offered a tight smile.

"Nothing, just saw someone across the room. Everything is fine." He paused. "Not as exciting to be here when you're invited, is it?"

Tired from dealing with the guards, I head to the bar almost on autopilot, hands in my pockets, keeping a neutral expression. I glance around, taking in the scene—a lot of people here, far too many for my taste, and I naturally find myself gravitating toward the walls. It doesn't help that I left my weapons on my ship, which was a foolish move. If things go south, I'll have to rely on my Force lightning and well-honed escape skills to get out unscathed.

I take a seat on one of the luxurious bar stools, leaning an elbow on the counter and resting my head in my hand, the exhaustion showing on my face. The bartender catches my eye and asks the inevitable question—what I'll have to drink. Hmm, what indeed? I look left, then right. No one here to tell me what to do, no one to judge my choice. Perfect. I go for something simple but effective.

My hand taps thoughtfully against my chin as I scan the extensive menu. They're really living the high life here, and I'm actually enjoying the ambiance—the music isn't bad either. The bartender watches me, waiting as I mull over my choice.

"Well? Have you decided?"
"Yeah, uh, a Tarisian Ale, please!"
"Thank you. Here's your beer."

He slides a glass of Tarisian ale across the bar, and I catch it with a bit of excitement. A smile pulls at my lips as I lift the glass, savoring the first taste with my eyes closed. It's good. Really good. For now, I'm settled at the bar and plan to stay a while. I noticed some slot machines a little further up, so I might try my luck in the casino after a couple more rounds. Might as well enjoy the night!
"Now that's good," I murmur, pleased with a smile on my face.

The bartender smiles, satisfied that I'm enjoying the drink, before turning back to his work. Relaxing here, away from the academy, feels surprisingly refreshing. I let myself sink into the moment, the taste of the ale lingering on my tongue, the music blending into the background. The cold of the glass against my hand and the gentle buzz from the drink remind me that sometimes, it's worth slowing down, letting the chaos outside wait.

my datapad rings to tell me that the Corelian builder has completed my ship, cool after that I will be able to go get it and start working efficiently. I want to go visit this ship, I'll be able to go so quickly, it'll be so cool! I put away my datapad satisfied with the news. Hell yes. my dark aura is clearly a blot in the middle of these people but I noticed that I am far from being the only one to have dared to come here, so everything is fine, I blend into the crowd, I feel the aura of lord much more powerful than me. But, I don't know them so I stay in my corner, I'm here to party and make connections.

Prelude - Amongst Friends

Xitli, a towering figure among the Avali elite, exuded confidence as he surveyed the opulent Expo hall. His gaze swept across the bustling crowd, taking in the intricate displays of technology and the eager faces of potential investors. His mind, however, was focused on a single goal: to solidify his position as a dominant force in the local pharmaceutical industry.

Pateviridae, his most prized possession, was the centrepiece of his exhibit. A marvel of genetic engineering, this versatile virus held the potential to revolutionize medicine. As visitors marvelled at the intricate display, Xitli couldn't help but smile. He had come a long way from the dark days of the Yuuzhan Vong War. A product that had helped her secure their future.

Xitli was pleased with their lucrative partnership. As he delivered his presentation, he pondered the future. With Commercial and Scientific Agreements with the New Cov Government and the N&Z Umbrella Corporation, secured his financial future was assured. More importantly, his political rivals had reason to fear, as this new business partnership secured him a place with a female from the Mexocotl Clan. As the sole business partner, an attack against him meant an attack against the Mexocotl and Citalee - a red line very few of his rivals would be willing to cross.

Peacocking Dragon

Xitli, resplendent in his serpentine avian elegance, ascended the grand staircase of City Hall. Each step was a stage, and he played his part with a dramatic flair. The crowd parted before him, their eyes drawn to his shimmering plumage and imposing stature. As he reached the balcony, he found a prime vantage point—a towering marble column. With a graceful coil, he wrapped himself around the pillar, his wings unfurling like a peacock's tail.

A human, a mere mortal in a uniform, approached him. "Sir, I must ask that you refrain from climbing the architecture."

Xitli tilted his head, a single eye gleaming with amusement. "My dear, this is quite comfortable. Is there not a more suitable place prepared for one such as myself?"

Using his glamour to full effect, her gaze, mesmerized by his otherworldly appearance, flickered uncertainly. "I... I'm not sure, sir."

"Then might I kindly ask that you find out? Perhaps, speak with President Liin Terallo Liin Terallo or Khan Nora Laan Nora Laan ?" Xitli suggested indulgently
