Orex was seething. "The Grey". He hated the word. Orex was no Sith and certainly no Jedi and now he would suffer the brunt of fanatic absolution. Jedi and Sith alike viewed themselves as the absolute power within the Force and according to them, if you didn't align with one, you were the other. The Grey were a useless bunch, enjoying the Dark Side but indulging the Light also. This left with them with no purpose, no significant presence. Useless.
Orex was deep within the Dark Side and understood the implications of raw Power. But he simply refused to align himself with the Sith as he felt they never quite achieved the standard they themselves set. He was something else. But he hadn't quite named it yet.
Orex watched as Ravenous charged toward him and descended in an aggressive arc. He ignited the Purple Blade and brought it above his head to meet the streak of red making its way for his skull.
Impact and a tremendous spark of colliding light as Ravenous brought his blade down upon Orex's head.
"Do not be mistaken by the blade and my position in the Force. Darkness is the path to strength, there is no balance."
He knew it would likely be a fruitless endeavour to continue trying to persuade Ravenous, but he did not intend to give up. Allies were always of great benefit. Orex pushed against Ravenous's blade with nothing but Anger and managed to create some distance between the two.
"Your presence in the Force is weak. Do not allow arrogance to cloud your judgement. I can be of great aid to you."
Orex began to realise their similarities. The scar on the sides of their faces, their painful past and their unhinged anger. Orex was prone to blistering rage that clouded his sense of logical thought but had recently begun to control it under his new mentor. Yet this control was not something he had mastered just yet and he could feel his Anger spilling into his mind. But the power that came with it was enticing.
