I would like to ask for the recently approved species submission the Barkspawn to be taken back from its approved status and put through the Factory once more for the following three reasons,

Most importantly,
There were no edits done to the submission based on what I have requested of the writer to edit and elaborate on, while he did answered my concerns and questions in his reply he did not apply them into the submission itself. I have asked him about that per Skype before my sudden LOA and he said that he will edit the submission soon.

Furthermore,
The questions he had based on the concerns I put up, specifically for the Barkspawn's cloaking ability as I questioned its effectiveness against Non-Force Users during the day out in the open, were not answered neither by me nor the judge that approved the submission.

Moreover,
I had further questions and concerns based on his answers to my initial edit requests, for example when we spoke about the Semi-Corporeal abilities of the Barkspawn it was mentioned that it can be harmed by Force-based attacks in that form and it stayed on the ground at all times while moving instead of floating as the Starweird. Based on that I was going to ask whether this vulnerability extended to weapons imbued with Force such as some swords and if it is moving via walking, running, sprinting, etc. does it mean that the creature's paws could still be damaged by conventional weaponry like caltrops since moving via ground instead of floating means that the Barkspawn has to push itself off of the ground, that suggest at the moment it touches the ground it has at least partial physical form since otherwise it would just phase into the soil instead.

In conclusion,
Based on these three points I would like to ask for the submission to be put through the Factory once more so the Writer can make the edits I have required, I can address his concerns based on my judgement of the creature's cloaking abilities, and I can ask further questions about the concerns I had with the submission. Since this is all centered around just the Strengths and Weakness section, everything else in the submission looks good, I believe I can get it done rather quickly, but as it stands, as one of the species judges and the judge that worked on the submission initially, I do not agree with the submission's approval.

Thank you for taking your time to hear my concerns.

I didn't understand why Cade took over it from you, but I trusted his judgement when it came to final approval.

If [member="Ashin Varanin"] wants to pull it out for editing, I can see the reasoning for it.

On the other hand, Valik has made multiple submissions and has not abused them. Another way of looking at this would be to wait and see if it became a problem first before pulling it out for further edits.

As I told Valik on Skype,

He is a good writer and I trust him to not abuse the species, although from what I understand he won't be using it personally,

But at the same time I want to be equal on all subs, if I'm going to be a balance and detail obsessed hard-ass to one person, I'm going to be a balance and detail obsessed hard-ass to all of them, regardless of who the writer is, and I stand by my point that the Strengths and Weaknesses section should be expanded upon, as requested in the sub per my questions and concerns, as it is addition to the site's lore and folks will most likely face it in combat at least once.

Some context for [member="Valeria Aetani"]

[7/30/2014 4:41:55 PM] The Owlbear // Doctor Jan: I have an issue with what Jacen is doing in the species section, for one he has taken submission on which I was working on without notifying or asking me first, second he has approved the Barkspawn even though the edits weren't actually made, nor was I done asking questions about that submission
[7/30/2014 5:11:48 PM] Jon: I have an issue with the species section having one- to two-week backlogs. He was deputized, and did what he did when I told him to.
[7/30/2014 5:12:02 PM] Jon: He was picking up the slack for you and Kaman, on my orders
[7/30/2014 5:15:34 PM] The Owlbear // Doctor Jan: He could have at least notified me or ask if I had any more concerns on the submissions that I was working on before, what seems to me, blindly approving them, Barkspawn submission did not receive any edits from Valik, he has answered my questions in the thread but has not editted the submission itself, yet Jacen approved it
[7/30/2014 5:16:15 PM] Jon: That's a problem for whoever tackles the secondary approval. As far as we both knew, you were flat on your back drugged to the gills
[7/30/2014 5:16:34 PM] Jon: This was 'lend Jan a hand while he's medically indisposed and the backlog is ridiculous'

That was the extent of our conversation. If you'd come to me with specific concerns, I would have addressed them. However, the clarifications were made (and yes, that second post of Valik's is binding as part of the species sub), and two very experienced judges stamped it. When you poofed and I deputized Jacen to take care of the backlog, it stopped being your responsibility. I also have trouble accepting the 'everyone should be held to the same high standard' line when your tech subs are getting recalled and gutted for blatant brokenness and abuse.

You've been here long enough to know what a factory admin is, as evidenced by you coming to me first. Attempting to go over my head like this isn't what I need to see. Frankly, it's asking Dad when Mom said no -- but this ain't Dad's business, and Mom's the one with the rolling pin.

I'll be addressing this in the short term.
