Strengths:
Highly Protective: Able to withstand high amounts of damage across the board, with highly protective shielding systems. In addition, its high strength regenerative underlay can repair all but the most severe damage with about two hours of effort, and with brainwave regulators that almost completely kill pain, and advanced biofilters that can protect the occupant from all but alchemized diseases.
Up in The Sky: Once again displaying an intelligence as keen as that of any professionally trained engineer, Laertia created an powerful jetpack system that allows one to hover and fly for long periods, as well as stop and turn very quickly and precisely, due to a combination of high powered jets and micro repulsors. The system can remain active for up to forty minutes before needing a recharge. Can compact and detach in an emergency.
Customizable: The wrists have multiple attachments that can be mounted depending on the mission, including a micro chaingun developed by Laertia, a wrist mounted shotgun, a wrist laser and a razor disk launcher that is completely silent.
HUD: Comes With 18X variable zoom, Thermal, Night, and advanced targeting capability to aid in wrist weapon usage or general weapon usage
Mobility: Constructed to bare minimum specifications for heavy armor, the armor was designed for close to full mobility as possible, enabling them to fight without restriction.
Weaknesses:
A given definition of "Heavy": The barest possible amount was applied to qualify as heavy armor, meaning it it can take only four to five hits from conventional damages, and six to eight direct hits from the damage it is rate highest against before the armor or shields fail.
One at a time: The jet pack or the shields can be active, not both, meaning the user is more vulnerable airborne.
Speed: While allowing for more mobility than average it is still quite heavy to run around in, and the user may tire if forced to run for an extended period
Acid: Vulnerable to acid, which eats through it quickly
Paddle beams: Won't stop paddle beams.
Power systems: If disabled by Ion, it will take them ten minutes to reboot and another ten to recharge all systems.
Armorweave: While most of the surface is covered in thin plating, armorweave at the joints is vulnerable to vibro attacks.
Blunt: A club could knock the person wearing this for a loop.
Large target: The jetpack achieved its strengths by being made wing like...which makes it a large target from the ground. The pack itself can only take a few hits before it fails.
Altitude: Altitude ceiling is at eight hundred meters.
Sonics: Can only withstand two sonic pistol shots
DESCRIPTION
The Pilot's Chitin is an armor system developed by Laertia for use by Jedi to quickly traverse terrain and engage foes, or to reach or rescue those in otherwise inaccessible locations without having to turn to large vehicle systems. Precise and protective, with high defense against bio hazards, the chitin is held back by lack of speed, power distribution concerns, vulnerability to acids, sonics, and paddle beams, and flight time limits. Meant more for special missions than conventional duty, the Pilot Chitin can get a person in and out of a tight spot in a hurry and with a minimum of fuss, bringing hope to the innocent at the pit of despair to see one flying to them...or a touch of fear to any Dark Adept who thinks they cannot be reached.
