Plasma Power! (Jeff Solaris)

Veino inspected the training saber, double checking it to ensure that would work properly. As it was not his own saber, he didn't have the sensitivity and awareness to it that he had with his own. He didn't want it to explode. That would be unfortunate.

He activated it, examining the blue blade as it hummd. A different pitch than a real one, but that was the differences in energy. Then he deactivated it again and sat down to wait for [member="Jeff Solaris"] to arrive to begin the instruction. It would be a little more complicated than before, because his other students had all had previous experience with lightsabers. He would have to start from the very beginning. Even then, it would be complex. He was so used to using the Force in combat, he wasn't sure how to teach lightsaber combat without it. It would be oddly simplistic, really, without the undercurrents and much of the philosophy that was inherent in the skillset.

A new droid, one that Veino had never seen before in his life entered the room. Yet on his fore-arm was the logo of Suvian Sciences which meant the droid was somewhat affiliated with Jeff. In all actuality however, the droid was Jeff. Jeff had recently decided that his body needed a powerful and personal approach to being upgraded. The P-1000 "Colonel" Body would suffice for now as his new form. "So are you ready Veino? I'm here to learn a lot about the light-saber and become at least fairly skilled with it. Wildness is not an effective fighting style with it. I've obtained this new body because my old one kept freezing up, and locking up. The servos and most of it needed replaced. So I just decided a new body was in order. I'm willing to do whatever it takes to learn how to use a lightsaber properly. "

Veino tilted his head in surprise at the new droid model, but then it spoke and he knew it was Jeff. Time to begin the teaching. He offered out the training saber and removed his own from his belt, turning the power down to prevent injuries. He took a deep breath and began to speak.

"Lightsabers, while similar to swords, operate on completely different principles, given their unique traits. A weightless blade being one of them. To understand them though, we must go back into the past when metal swords were used. Zones of attack, slashes, parries, and lunges were all developed then and we have adapted them to use with Lightsabers."

"So the light-saber fighting styles originally originated from the fighting styles of Metal Swords, but had modifications made to them. This is good information to know." This was spoken by Jeff as he took the lightsaber from Veino and twisted it in his hands experimentally. It felt light weight, but just somehow right for him to use presently. It would be a good asset. "So the question is, what style shall we learn first?" A lightsaber was a formidable weapon in the right hands, and Jeff believed his were definitely the proper hands to handle one.

Veino nodded, "Shii cho. It's the first and oldest form that all other forms are based off of. It has six zones of attack, which are targets. The first is the head. Two is right arm and side, three is left arm and side, four is the torso, specifically the back, five and six are the right and left legs." He activated his own blade held it in front of him. "Most Shii cho attacks are horizontal swipes from side to side at any one of these targets. Go ahead and try to take a slash at any me in any one those areas."

As per the instructions of his present mentor Jeff immediately went into a slash at his head with the training light-saber. For a droid, his slash was a lot quicker than it should be. "So how am I doing so far teacher? Any need for improvements in my momentum?" Jeff knew he needed light-saber education because it might one day save his skin anyway. There were FAR too many Sith or Jedi loose in the Galaxy for his tastes. Something needed to be done about them being virtually unstoppable.

Veino's saber flashed up and caught the training saber on his own blade. The two crackled for a moment, and then he stepped back, lowering his blade, and considering. He considered the question, frowning slightly. Then he nodded slowly., realizing an rea of improvement. "Use your entire body for the momentum. It should come from your legs and move all the way up through your arms to the blade."

[member="Jeff Solaris"]

This time Jeff paused for a moment, and then went into an all out assault on Veino using his whole body for momentum as he began a barrage of rapid-fire slashes at him. Each slash was aimed at one of the areas that Veino had mentioned. All of them were relentless. Jeff needed to learn to slow down, and control his attacks. "How am I doing now teach?"

Veino moved in and out of the slashes, blade flashing to meet each one, bolstering his arms slightly each time the blow landed to deal with the mechanical strength. None of them landed, and he stepped back, considering. "They're reckless. Uncontrolled. Easy to predict. Easy enough to dodge or block. They're all fairly straightforward. There are no feints or diversions to attempt to throw an opponent off. Need to be subtle."

[member="Jeff Solaris"]

"You want feints and diversionary tactics? Very well teach."

With that Jeff launched into what seemed to be a stab at Veino's face, but quickly moved the blade to go for his left arm instead. It was a move Jeff had never once tried before in his life. Jeff's moves were now more cunning. A feint at his leg, a stab at his right arm, a feint at his face again and a slash at his neck with the training saber. These attacks were ferocious, but more cunning still.

Veino didn't move this time. His lightsaber moved to block the one at the left arm, then a twist to evade the one to the right, and then he swung the blade to catch the one near his neck. Then he stopped, blades cackling. He stepped back again and lowered his blade.

"Better. Your footwork gave you away though. And I knew the real moves before you made them. Remember. We can can sense what happens before it happens.You need to learn to recognize that as well."

He began to move through a series of moves, slowly and deliberately. "Each lightsaber form is composed a series of groups of movements called velocities. Once you recognize them, you can know what move comes next. Later on, you can begin to combine them into advanced movements, even combining forms into a personal style."

He paused for a few moments, "I would recommend Djem So."

So Force Users could somehow know ahead of time what attacks he was going to perform. This would make being able to take them down more complicated. Especially if he ever took a bounty on them, which was highly unlikely given the state of the Galaxy. As Veino made his moves slowly Jeff moved the light-saber to block each one of them. Djem-So was the recommended style. "What is special about the style of Djem So?"

"Djem So is a style that focuses on strong attacks to essentially bash through opponent's defenses," Veino replied, pulling out a datacard. "Unlike Soresu, which is my preferred style, Djem So doesn't require being able to know where attacks will land ahead of time. Its theory is that a strong offense is a strong defense." He slipped the card into his datapad and brought up the information on the form, and handed it to [member="Jeff Solaris"] to see.

As he looked at the information Jeff took a moment and smiled. Djem So would fit him perfectly. Granted it would not be a match for the Jedi or Sith, but at least being proficient with a light-saber would save him a lot of time and trouble later. "Veino, how would you like to make your own order of Force Users when we're done training together here? I've decided Suvian needs to expand into getting their own in house group of Force Users. Especially given that there are far too many killing each other or innocents out there."

Veino raised an eyebrow at the question. His own Force order? A corporate Force order at that? It almost made him shudder, but he shook his head instead.
"I already have a Force order to which I belong, and they have my oaths of loyalty." He considered for another moment, "And I'm not sure how many you could find who would wish to be part of a company. We've...not always gotten along with corporations very well."

Part of that was corruption. Part of it was a few companies had hunted and experimented on them. Combined, most he knew stayed as far away from large companies as possible, and some small ones unless they knew they could be trusted.

"When next we meet Veino, I shall be human. This will provide me with an opportunity to learn how to control the Force. It is something I'll need no small amount of help with. So can I count on you to help with my training when I return?" This was asked, because Warren had every absolute intention of becoming human. There were a multitude of reasons why he wanted to become human. The most notable was no amount of clever science could even remotely come close to matching the Force. Sure there were ways to disable the Force scientifically, but he wasn't gonna rely on cheap shots like those against Force users unless given no other choice. With that, Warren walked out slowly...waiting for a reply.
