Makari Valeal
Tough Student
Ambria
Operation Towerfall/Project Susanoo
5/25
Renzil Town seemed liked one of those country towns where everyone knew each other. The type of place filled with mom and pop stores and where you couldn’t find nothing to do for fun if your life depended on it. Makari had experience living in such a place, but it was only for a few months thankfully. He wasn’t a city kid, but he didn’t like the idea of everyone being in his business all the time either.
Juri found them a motel on the edge of town. “We’re sharing rooms,” she said nonchalantly. It didn’t bother Makari either, but he felt slightly offended that she was comfortable enough to share a room with him and not expect some type of shenanigans. He looked at his face in the mirror for a while and shrugged though. Well, everyone couldn’t be attractive he guessed.
As they unpacked their luggage in their motel room, Juri started to fill him in on Luca’s schedule. The man he was supposed to keep track of 24/7, although he was still struggling to accept that his former history teacher was in league with mass murdering Sith.
It seemed ridiculous, but so was the galaxy. He heard about all of the Mandalorian raids into the Republic, and wasn’t sure why they were the target of a crusade, when to many ordinary citizens, no matter how corrupt or just the Republic was, the Republic had always been the symbol of protection and security to most. Sure there were terrorism attacks here and there, but where in the galaxy was there truly peace?
Makari put it out of his head though, because if he acknowledge his animosity towards the Mandalorians, he would also be acknowledging that he was doing nothing personally to stop their aggressions.
But maybe after Operation Towerfall ended, he would take his training with Cathbodua a bit more seriously? The way things were going right now, he couldn’t keep turning a blind eye and pretending it wasn’t his burden to bear.
“Where do you want to go for dinner?” Juri asked him.
Makari looked at her with a smirk. “You mean where can we go for dinner. This is ain’t exactly Coruscant. The pickings are slim.”
