Point Defiance Station: Reunion

He knelt down and looked at her wound. The flesh was red and blackened by the heat and impact of the blaster bolt. It would scar and hurt like crazy but she'd live. Tough, kid.

"You'll live." He said before he took a grenade from his hip and held the actuator down. He stood to a crouch and went to the corner as blaster bolts seared the air. He tosses the grenade back hand into the coridor and rounded the corner his concussion rifle rising as he took a hasty knee.

The grenade flashed a white light and spewed smoke as he fired one blast from the big rifle. The shot flew, rippling the air like the wake of some sea monster near the surface of a murky sea. Sound seemed sucked out of the corridor a moment as 4 meters of concussive force slammed into the troopers and sent them to the ground.

In a moment he was up, rifle hanging from its sling around his shoulders as he started firing with the ripper at the prone bodies.

"Come on, ad'ika!" He bellowed, "I'll cover the rear."

Cory grunted, pulling a stim from her belt and stabbing it into the injured arm, the adrenaline pushing the pain away as she rolled her shoulders and got back to her feet, blaster secure in her hands as she took point again, keeping a steady jog as she lead them back towards the docks.

She picked the path carefully, listening the the troopers chatter and keeping them out of the direct line of fire. Pools of resistance had started form and they passed more than a handful of fights clogging the corridors with smoke, ozone and bodies. Cory was hard wired to avoid direct combat with the sith in any form so whatever guilt tried to maifest in her gut she stamped down quickly.

They ducked behind containers in the docking bay, watching the troopers accost a variety of pirates and smugglers alike. The scream of defence turrets made her smile as she spotted the Liberator doing a very good job of keeping imperial paws off her hull.

“That’s mine.” she nodded. “We can get clear, wait for things to quiet down then come grab yours.” she checked the power pack on the blaster as she spoke. There was a whole lot of trouble between them and the ship. She shrugged to herself, slid the blaster into her belt and pulled free her batons.

“After you.”

He stacked himself by the entrance to the corridor. His weapon pulled in tight and to the dirt. He was a battering ram at one time. All he could do was smash and move forward. He had learned since the early days, but his first impulse was still frontal assault. His head swam with memories again, but this time he held himself in check a lot better.

He took an small lock detonator from his belt and stuck it on the bulkhead and backed away toward the opposite entrance. With a quick silent count down on his fingers for Cory's benefit, he hit the detonator on his gauntlet and waited for the shouts and boots of the Sith troopers to come looking and headed through the other entrance and took cover behind shipping crates that would get them closer to the ship than just running and gunning through them all.

He gave a nod to Cory and checked his concussion rifle rounds. He was low but he thought he would have enough.

"You look fast," He said quietly, "I'll cover your run to the ship. You spin it up and I'll be right behind you."

With that he nodded three times and popped up over the crates and fired toward the center of the group and sent the four nearest troopers flying to the deck.

"Go." he said all business as he began to come around the crates to draw fire and give cover.

Cory didn't like this plan, she didn't want to leave him behind but she was also smart enough to know it was their best option. She blew a sigh of annoyance out her nose, then broke from cover as [member="Ordo"] opened fire. She didn't look back, even as a stray blaster bolt whistled past her ear. The ships automated defence systems recognised her, lowering the ramp as she approached, she was up and in the belly of the ship before it'd fully extended.

"Fire up!" she yelled, throwing herself into the pilots seat, startling Princess who was sleeping happily in the copilots chair. The Liberator warmed up quickly as Cory fired up the weapons systems and brought the ship off the docking bay floor by a few feet she swung the ships nose towards the sith firing at her uncle.

"Eat Shid." she spat, burying them under laser fire.

He backed toward the Ship as the Sith began to recover. He fired again and sent them ducking but he only hit a few. A bolt hit him from the side and sent a jolt of pain up his side. The other Sith had decided to wrap around. He was going to be flanked hard.

He turned and fired then sprinted away toward the ship. He was hit again twice and went down hard on the boarding ramp just as the canons opened up on the Sith.

"Go, Go." he shouted through his helmet as he pointed the rifle down the boarding ramp and fired in the direction of the troopers. Three more flew away to lay still in the deck.

Cory punched the controls for the landing ramp, still raining fire down on the docks as she did. Ordo would either move deeper into the ship or get dumped inside. A green light flashed to tell her it was shut and she swung the bose away from the station, blaster fire pinging harmlessly off the hull.

She pushed the engines to max, throwing herself back in the chair. Something crashed in the corridor and she winced, muttering apologies to no one in particular. Alarms blared, warning of target locks. The space beyond the station was full of sith freighters.

Activating the cloak, she moved towards them avoiding direct flight paths with troop transports. The alarms stopped singing at her and she dialed back the engines, slowing them down until they were past the flotilla where she swung the ships nose back towards the station and brought the Liberator to a full stop.

She slumped back into the chair and allowed herself to breath.
