Possible Levantine Merger

The Levantine Sanctum has been given a Faction Recall notice, meaning they have two weeks to bolster activity or lose their status as major faction.

They came up with a couple choices: Either remain as they are but increase activity around the site through dominions, faction role-plays, etc., or merge with us. Or just take the hit and go back to being a minor faction.

If you do not know who the Levantine Sanctum are, they are essentially a group of people - FU and NFU, and not all Jedi - who do not wish to engage in the usual warring of factions, but rather explore and investigate the galaxy and its worlds. They're a peaceful bunch, but not without means to defend themselves.

This poll is not meant to decide what this merge would entail. This is merely to hear from you - our members - whether or not you would mind letting them merge with us, effectively adding their memberbase and resources to ours. Most of their territory would be lost and in need of reclaiming through future dominions, should we wish to.

If majority wins in favour of merging we'll start talking about how the Levantines will be implemented into the Silver Jedi Order.

It grows our member base, potentially adds the Explorer Corps or Frontier Corps to our (very few and far between) Antarian Rangers (or adds the Rangers to the Explorer Corps), and gives us some Force Users with very unique flavor, such as Coren Starchaser. Plus, more NFUs!

I don't see a downside to this, other than I already have two characters here and this would add a third if it happened. So, I'll likely look to put either Zak or Sor-Jan in a different faction so that I'm not 'alt stacking' Jedi in one faction.

'Alt-stacking' your Jedi is not a bad thing, friend. Embrace it! :d

On a more serious note, I support merging. I am admittedly somewhat biased since I'm also in LS. As is Tygara, the planet Kaeshana's space elves will be migrating to. Moreover, it does grow the member base for SJO, open up new areas for expansion, storylines etc.

Admittedly issues of integrating LS into SJO will have to be ironed out, but I believe those can be handled smoothly, especially since while LS is less Jedi-based (then again, Sio is not a Jedi either), its founding principles overlap to a significant degree with SJO's.

See, with the LS, it's more a matter that they won't go invading someone, but if someone comes knocking... well, you can't really turn down an invasion. As it's been said, they've had the means to defend themselves.

Of course, no-one's come knocking!

And look, SJO hasn't gone invading anyone, either. It's the same thing. :)

You know I'm for this and am also be willing to do nerds to do to make this go smoothly. And if you need a ear a stick for some of Corey crazy needs plotting.

Nope I I'm here for the SJO being one of the foundation builters if I was there at the beginning. I'm here now for the order. Okay so those lao :p but you guys still love me and all my zeltron wisdom and sexiness.

If they are in to exploring and have no way to defend themselves should they run into trouble, it would be our duty to aid them.

Also, I am looking to explore the Galaxy to further the growth of Nagate in his abilities and knowledge of the Force and all of its benefits.

We (speaking as an LS) will bring in our Frontiers Corp. It'll give a unique flavor, and different avenues of education for the Jedi of the SJO. Bringing in the NFUs from our faction shouldn't be too difficult, they're all looking for the freedom that the Sanctum provides. Don't tread on them and it'll be fine.

A different fleet aspect, and us backing up the SJO during invasions will give it a bit of flair as well, working the integration through roleplay can be a smart, and fun, story arc. Especially if certain character personalities are tossed to one another, the very untraditional to the more traditional, etc.
