D O M I N U S
As it has been mentioned earlier, the CIS military is in need of some loving; in particular our Army and Naval branches. With the tremendous changes that came to the faction over the most recent weeks, coupled with a certain laptop going nuclear (damn thing), the time had come for a hardcore brainstorming session on what to do next. So, a few of us sat down and brainstormed this afternoon and the beginnings of an update was devised. Below is what we came up with and I'd love to hear your thoughts on these potential changes. I appreciate your time, feedback, and sticking around to make the green on the map one of the best factions on the board! XD
Major Change: Dread Guard/Phantom Corps -> Confederate Marine Corps
With the exodus of Liberty Concord and the slowing of Phantom Corps progress, I thought it proper to combine what remained of the two units into something new. The Confederate Marines are to be a branch of the CIS Navy dedicated to combat in a variety of battlefields; such as boarding enemy vessels, orbital drops, and ground operations. The Marines are to have the finest weaponry, armor, vehicles, and other accommodations available and are poised to be the mainstay of our organic units. With the exception of the SpyNet and Templar Order, if you are a human/near-human/anything non-droid and want a soldier role, this is the place you'll be.
New Unit: Ragnell Squadron
Tremendous interest has been expressed to get a starfighter corps going within the CIS. So, in order to continue to show our military love, Ragnell Squadron has been created by our very own [member="Esther Griffon"]. If you have a love for piloting starfighters and have been itching to get behind the wheel of an epic vessel, this is the unit for you. For now, there are only 12 slots (standard squadron number) open; but if popularity soars, we'll accommodate. The sign up for the Squadron can be found Here.
Fleeters: Admiral Classes and Info
One of the other things that the military has been lacking are dedicated fleeters and a structure in order to accommodate them. So, one of the potential changes is this simple ranking system:
The Confederacy is the droid capital of the Galaxy, yet we have no standing unit of droid, player characters. As it has been alluded to via the Pre-Board and on Skype, we seek to change that with an ambitious project by designing a commando unit available for play! When the submission goes up and is approved, we'll begin active recruitment for this team; but if you're interested in playing a droid, let me or [member="Marek Starchaser"] know.
So, that just about covers it for the ideas we touched on in our brainstorming sessions today. If I missed anything guys, feel free to fill in the blanks; and once again, your feedback is very much appreciated.![Smile :) :)](data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7)

One of the other things that the military has been lacking are dedicated fleeters and a structure in order to accommodate them. So, one of the potential changes is this simple ranking system:
- Commodore: Commands anything larger than a starfighter/freighter, but smaller than a Corvette.
- Rear Admiral: Commands Corvettes - Frigates
- Vice Admiral: Commands Cruisers - Heavy Cruisers
- Admiral: Commands Light Star Destroyers - Star Destroyers
- Fleet Admiral: Commands Event Ships
- High Admiral: Commands Event Ships/Commands the Navy
