The two finally reached the ship, and the moment Kasady set a foot on the ramp, Valery knew the big question was going to be asked. She looked at the blue-haired woman, who perhaps felt uncertain about her own future now, and smiled,
"Killing someone, even a slaver like this, has certain consequences that can't be avoided," Valery began, which she expected to make Kasady nervous.

"I will make an honest report about what happened, which details how I was betrayed and stunned after we made our escape from the slavers. You sadly escaped with the ship, and with the ongoing focus on the slavers, it'll likely not be worth the time of the Marshals to try and find you." Valery hoped Kasady would catch on to her proposal, which would allow her to get out of here on the shuttle without any problems following her. It Valery was willing to take.

She smiled softly and stepped away from the shuttle,
"I'm so sorry it went this way, Kasady. But thank you for your help and may the Force be with you," Valery added before she readied herself to get stunned. This part was going to suck.

Kasady

Guest
Kasady inhaled sharply. The worst sprang to mind, but when Valery finished there was a moment of pause. She blinked. It registered. "...Oh."

As appreciative as the gesture was, Kasady could only frown. If only things had gone differently, then this end might have been a little less bittersweet. At least Valery had earned her confidence, even if her doubts about everything else remained. "I'm sorry, too…" She stepped back and set her blaster to stun, before aiming it with a shaky hand, "Thanks, Valery. You're not so bad, after all." The faintest hint of a smile formed, then dissipated as soon as she took the shot.

A blue ring arced out from the barrel to envelop the Jedi, and with one last regretful glance, Kasady turned her back and entered the ship. Its thrusters roared to life shortly after, and the ship lurched up and into the air, before rocketing away into the stars beyond. From the cockpit, Kasady looked down at the station below before slumping back in her chair. She pushed messy strands of blue hair out of her face, staring blankly at the console to input a destination.

Anywhere but here.
