Faction Pride of the Party

“Just so you know…(I said as I twirled her around elegantly with my right hand and pulled her back in) I let you win these spars. Maybe I should turn up the heat a little. I am well versed in the arts of combat. And I play the role of one who knows little. But it’s no secret that I know more than I let on. Observation is key. Lending a ear to listen speaks volumes.” I said as I rocked slowly back and forth. I turned my head , looking over her shoulder as I had a feeling I could not shake. The feeling that something or someone was watching us. Our every move, and not in a favorable manner.

Regardless, the only thing that mattered was the small moments that would last a lifetime in my heart. “Lori…Where would Rex Valhoun Rex Valhoun be at this time?”

Lori smirked as Var-Sulis Var-Sulis commented on how he just 'let her win' in their spars. That was an obvious line that she was used to hearing from men when they got beat by a girl. It had to do with egos. But she wasn't about to bruise his even further.

However what he said soon after gave her pause. He observes and lends an ear. Was she being played all this time? Here Var had just asked her to talk to him and now it made her wonder if it was all a part of some scheme or another to figure her out. It made her wonder what his motivations were...

"Rex?" Var's question about him caused her to step out of her thoughts. "He's been going on a lot of missions lately. But I've been doing some of the same. We keep ourselves busy. Why do you ask?"

“It’s simple. From my point of view, I don’t want to cause trouble in his eyes. He is our King. However, you are a Queen. A Queen who should be ruling the Empire with both grace and Authority.” I explained while pausing our dance for a moment while looking at her. I saw her at the top. Shining brilliantly. And without Rex Valhoun. To be honest with myself, I preferred my true King, but he was in a coma. Which is another subject entirely.

“I….I….” The words wouldn’t come out. I was choking on them as they tried to bottleneck up my esophagus. I wanted to say it. But I couldn’t so soon. I’d risk too much. Or would I? Am I a hypocrite or a Man who will follow the advice he gives and just let go and live for the moment?

Trouble.

Lori had a guess as to what Var-Sulis Var-Sulis had meant. And it went right along with the rumours that she had been told about, even among her Mandalorian friends. Her marriage was a troubled one, yet more than likely that was how arranged marriages were. Of course that fact didn't make her feel any better about it.

"A Queen, maybe. But I have more authority over my company than I do in the Empire. And I suppose that that's the way it's supposed to be. Whether I should be ruling or not, that isn't really up to us to decide." Not unless she did something drastic to usurp the throne. But Lori had no plans for that.

She raised a brow as Var seemed to want to get something out, but couldn't. "You....what?" Lori gave his hand a squeeze as he still held them, hoping it'd be enough to encourage him. He was afraid to say something, but she wasn't sure of what that was.

“If I do something completely out of character…Just know…love makes a man do crazy things.” I said as I kissed her on the cheek! Bam! Yep I did it. In front of everyone. But then again, a kiss on a cheek can be a sign of endearment or show of respect. Not a loving gesture right? Neither would a embracing hug with my arms wrapped around her, right? We’ll time would tell as I did just that.

“I will be speaking with whomever I need to. I would like to serve as your personal security. I know you have Arla by your side. One more couldn’t hurt?” I said in her ear as my face would back up a few inches from hers. I had no directive or direction as of yet. But I could see myself flourishing under a leader such as herself. And the Elysium security team could venture to new connections as well as resources with Dar’Manda. But most importantly, I needed to let her know how I really felt. And there it was!

Love makes a man do...

Oh no. What was he going to do?

Var-Sulis Var-Sulis then gave her a quick kiss on the cheek as the song ended, followed by a hug. Oh it had been a long time since she was last hugged, or so it felt. And so she returned the hug warmly, knowing that she couldn't let it linger in any way as they were in public.

Lori listened to his request. He wasn't asking to replace Arla of course, but to work along side her. She gestured for him to follow her off of the dance floor so that they could better hear eachother over the music. "Are you sure? I mean, I don't think that it'd be a problem. But I know that I can be at times. I'm stubborn and a risk taker. I'm sure that Arla could tell you stories...I don't like to be tied down, and I wouldn't want you to feel as though you were going to be." She wasn't planning on living in a Palace, but continuing to call her ship home, along with various other places.

I nodded in agreement as I followed Loreena Arenais-Valhoun Loreena Arenais-Valhoun off the dance floor. I was absolutely certain about my choice and needed to clarify just a bit.

"I am sure. I nor you will ever be tied down. We are as free as we can be. You would just have my personal service. Besides, with your stubbornness, if you find yourself in trouble, three heads are better than two!" I said with a chuckle.

"I have some contacts that I need to reach out to at sunrise, but today is a celebration. If you'll excuse me for a moment...The bladder tank is full.." I said as I would pat my lower abdomen with my left hand.

Lori laughed a little as Var-Sulis Var-Sulis mentioned 'if' she finds herself in trouble. It was never a question of if. "Trouble finds me, so we're bound to get into it. But I'm not entirely blameless for that either. So...I accept your proposal."

She then gave him a nod as he excused himself. "Alright. I'll try not to get into any trouble while you're gone. No promises though." Lori snickered and then left to go fetch herself another glass of tihaar. Things were looking up and it was going to be nice to have some company other than just Arla hanging around. She just hoped that they don't butt heads too much.
