But I Am Free
"Hey now, shh. It's alright. It's okay."
Kahlil kept his hands up, smiling the ever calm smile. He had to. Here on New Cov, in the facility Valery Noble had gotten him permission to use, everything more or less rode on this working. He stood before a Sithspawn of all things, watching it's single eye, making sure it wasn't looking away from him. Keeping it calm as the others examined it. Sith Alchemy was always a careful blend of science and the Dark. He could figure out a good portion of what was done through the Dark.
The science, that wasn't as easy.
For the time being he kept it calm. It's mind wasn't completely warped, nor was it completely an animal. Sentience shown through it's gaze. Understanding, behind all that fear and panic he was keeping at bay. It was the only glimmer of hope here. Another needle, a low growl, and Kahlil nodded once towards the doctor. No more, not now. It wasn't going to stay calm for much longer. As the doctors left the mostly empty room, he'd start to lower his hands. Nod his head.
"We'll figure it out."
Not just him. The others. The creature slowly nodded it's head before laying out on the ground. It was bigger than him. So much bigger than him. And for now, calm. He took a step back, then turned to head back into the viewing room. Let out a sigh as the door behind him closed. Already the others were getting to work, analyzing what information they had gotten. This wasn't something Jedi ever attempted. That which was twisted by the dark had always been burned by the Light. But it wasn't this creatures fault.
"Were you able to get a tissue sample?"
"Yeah. .. Do you really think this will work?"
"No idea, but it's worth a try, right?"
