Private Punching Through Doubt

Silas seemed to frown at his master's question of giving him the choice. During his initiate days, he had studied Sith Spawn frequently. They were not given the choice if they wanted to be one or not, and most times it was totally irreversible. Even if they did take it back, they couldn't do much for it in the first place.

"I guess we must put it out of its misery master. If we cannot cure it, we can at least end its suffering" he said before slowly getting to his feet and walking over to the Sith spawn. In a swift motion, Silas pulled out his blue lightsaber and pointed it at the Sith. Although, before he ignited, his head turned to Kahlil Noble Kahlil Noble for confirmation on what he was doing was right.

"It is the only way... Right?"

"We can't cure it, but is she truly wishing for death?" Kahlil made no move to stop Silas, even as the Padawan brandished his blade. The Sithspawns unconscious form continued to breath, unaware of the threat to her life. And around them, people watched. Waited. Hoped to see the Sithspawn dead. The Master stood, folded his arms over his chest. Turned his gaze to the onlookers.

"Go home. We'll take care of this."

There was a hesitation, only because they wanted to see her dead. But the Jedi who saved them? They listened, turning to leave the pair of Jedi alone here. And only when they were alone did Kahlil once more address his Padawan.

"Is it a Jedi's duty to take life?"

"She'd want to stay alive, no matter the cost" Silas mumbled with his lightsaber pointed to the back of the Sith, his thumb ready to ignite the blue blade at a moment's notice. Taking a deep breath, he looked around at the gathering crowd. All of them were staring at him curiously to see what he'd do to the monster. He was certain they wanted her dead, but was it what Silas and the force wanted?

Looking back to Kahlil Noble Kahlil Noble in the side of his vision, he heard the master tell the crowd to move along and leave them in the street alone. They didn't need judgemental eyes on them now, especially with the choice he had.

"No Master, it is not our duty to kill. We are peacekeepers, not soldiers born for harm. Yet, when it comes to Sith Spawn who wants nothing more than misery, we cannot let it happen again. Innocent people cannot be at risk from her ideals..."

"It's quite the conundrum, isn't it?" Kahlil stepped over, gently setting a hand on Silas's shoulder. Then past him to pick up the unconscious Sithspawn. "Our duty is to protect, first and foremost. I know no way to heal her from what she was made to be, nor any of the Sithspawn that still rampage throughout the undercity here. And at times we will have to strike them down. But right now? She is no threat. We are defenders, not executers. And while it might not be known how to help her yet, shouldn't we hope one day she can be helped?"

He turned, heading back the way they came with the Sithspawn over his shoulder. He'd already put out a call for a pickup.

"With that in mind, what should we do Silas?"

Silas looked over his shoulder to Kahlil Noble Kahlil Noble and frowned slightly when he put a hand on his shoulder, watching him cautiously as he slung the Sith spawn over his shoulder. There was no way they could possibly heal the woman with the curse they had, nor help her in any capacity. All they could do was let time tell if she could be saved if the force willed it.

"We can, somewhere deep down there is kindness in her heart. She just needs time to find it and move on from the dark shroud that controls her" The boy agreed as he walked along with his master beside him. Finally placing the Lightsaber in his pocket, a wave of guilt fell over him from the fact he was about to execute a person who still had a chance to be free. Thankfully, Master Kahlil was there to help him think things over in his still developing mind.

"Hope master, that's all we can do..."

"Hope, and study." Kahlil flashed Silas a wide grin before patting the top of his head. It was one thing to think about executing someone. Another to just do it. The Master had no intention of letting Silas kill this woman, but thankfully didn't have to intervene to stop the Padawan. That alone was the lesson he was trying to impart. "Just because there isn't a known way now doesn't mean there isn't a way. We just have to find it. Have hope it can be found, but don't just leave it to other people."

The shuttle he called landed close by. Within, temple security came out to help those still trying to recover from the brief torment they'd been subjected to. Help clean up the mess. Kahlil hopped inside, still carrying the woman with a bag over her head. It looked terrible, all things considered. But that's just what they had to do to keep everyone safe.

"C'mon. Let's head back."
