Question for you

[member="Isamu Baelor"], I assumed they were in a minor faction of their own because they worked for them, but not as a subfaction... I assumed wrong. Thank you for correcting me.

[member="Break"] The problem I have with the outer rim, is that its past the republic, between us, and the Galactic Alliance, and we have the Silvers to the north east side of the map. Not to mention, the Republic is likely to build down, there and we have no idea if we have any minor factions to build themselves up there, they could build on top of our planet, and we might have to fight for our spot in the faction. There are so many different variables there, its hard to make a choice to go out that way.

And considering the One SIth are building in the same direction that the GR lost their 24 planets, Cultivating it a little bit before them would aid them in the process of getting that planet story wise.

[member="Darth Ferus"], Oh yeah. I understand.

[member="Break"], so we are going to separate ourselves completely from allies and into potentially dangerous hands, where someone can once again get between us and our allies? Meaning it would be even harder to fight groups.

Not a great strategic move.

[member="Break"], I understand. I am just stating why I don't think it would be a good idea.

I want for us to work well together as a team, and not just push off in our own directions. Hell, for the start of our group, I won't even be taking a planet. Probably just going to save that for later. Its a personal thing that I want to do with my character. So it wouldn't really help this faction.

I want us to get our ideas down, and hash out something that we can do to make this faction better.

[member="Xavka Duquo"], Do you have any ideas on where we could go to? I would like to have your imput since you want to help out as well.

Both of your suggestions for where the planet that should be used as our base should be are both valid, but flawed at the same time if looked at with an IC perspective. If you'll allow me to express my opinion, I'll explain what I mean.

Say the planet we choose is near to OS space. The advantages of this is that we would be near allies if ever attacked, we would not be separated from out 'parent' Faction and we may settle on a planet which the OS will then invade and capture which would give even more protection (and even lead to an interesting story if we establish our presence on the planet before hand). However, there are disadvantages (again, from an IC POV). The Assassins are meant to be secret, staying in the shadows, and being close to our 'parent' faction does not truly accomplish this fact. Nor would it (again, IC) allow the Assassins to act as they truly are, an independent body loyal to the OS.

On the other hand, is we settle on a planet in the Outer Rim, we will be separated from our allies and risk having enemies seal of the path towards them. We would also be deprived of (IC) protection. However, the Assassins would be based off of a location that none would look towards, giving animosity and the distance would allow the Assassins to act as an independent body.

Both options are valid and one that could be pursued. But then, so are others. I believe that at one point the argument for the Assassins to be based in a hollowed out asteroid was made and it too had advantages and disadvantages.

For me, in my opinion (and this is all been writing from my opinion, please don't take anything I say personally), the best option would be for Assassins to have bases scattered across the Galaxy, both within and outside OS space, but we'll have to start somewhere after all. If we wish to settle this issue, we'll all need to sit down with cool heads and discuss this calmly, considering IC ramifications from our choices and not let OOC issues or ideas lead us.

In conclusion, settling within/near OS space and within the Outer Rim both have advantages and disadvantages and it may be a good idea to explore both in the future. However, until then, we'll need to sit down and discuss this calmly and rationally.

(To put forward my opinion on the 'for now', I think we should choose a planet near or in OS space and branch out from there. But I can be swayed if a good enough argument is made.)

[member="Break"], I hear your motion, but would ask that you provide more evidence as to why your planet should be the one chosen. This is nothing personal, please understand that, but in the interests of the Faction I would like this discussion to be civil where we all explain out points of view and opinion so that all may understand where someone else is coming from. Also, please keep you explanation focused on the IC, not the OOC.

This goes for [member="Darth Ansem"] and any other (including myself) that should wish to be included in this discussion. Please do not simply state that we should follow your idea because you want us to do so. (I am not saying you are doing so Break, I'm using this as an example.) Please provide a thought out explanation, after all, we are discussing the future of this Faction. AND KEEP THE DISCUSSION CIVIL.

Yes, the Sith Assassins have faded. I am sorry for this. In my close to six months of faction ownership, I have not done much to forward activity. Much of the time, I've been drawn between grades, IRL social life, and faction responsibilities. In the process, not being able to truly live up to any of them.

That being said, I'm glad to see initiative towards revival. The best faction activity starts from the member-base, not the administration.

As for bases.

We already have a strong base within OS space, and it was always the plan to create more throughout the map. The reason why a base is set up on Coruscant is because it is in the centre of the galaxy and an enormous trading hub. This gives a geographical advantage when it comes to gathering information and setting out on missions. Assassins would leave the core in hiding and attack from scattered outposts within and without faction space.

Sitting in the Outer Rim makes it more time-consuming to travel across the galaxy. Assassins should be good enough to hide in plain sight rather than cower in wild-space.

A nice thing to note about the One Sith and the Sith Triumvirate. They are joined in the fight against the light-side factions. It should not be problematic to aid the Triumvirate as long as it does not directly attack the One Sith.

To continue off that last bit.

So long as its against the light side of the Force and not openly going against the OS, where our current home is, any faction can be worked with. This way we can open the doors to writing with new people as well as spread the rumors of those who strike from darkness. The more people who know we can show up anywhere at anytime without warning, the more fear will be spread.

At least IC. OOC, more people to write with is always awesome.

[member="Darth Ophidia"], [member="Darth Ferus"], Thank you both for the information and advice.

[member="Xavka Duquo"], has already started an idea for a opening thread that I think will be a good start to trying to get more people active. Having lore set behind it, it would be nice to see it play out.

I am also working with others to see if we can connect with other factions and make relations, or make enemies with people and set up possible "duels" or small skirmishes that could be done rather easily.

Understood. Also please note that anything I suggest isnt something I feel we need to do I only wish to give ideas and help forward our group, Im fully happy to do anything with you guys :] The sith assassins feel like a close group of friends to me so anything that we do seems like fun to me.
