"I see what you both geared up with. Don't try to be squad-minded now.
We'll get down there, we'll die or we won't. Kay? Kay."

- Resistant: Raider-pattern armor worn by the Second Legion boasted strong Duraplates and which were reinforced on the chest, shoulders, and skull, giving soldiers high level protection from both kinetic and energy weapons.
- Strength Enhancing: Troopers wearing this armor were often issued body gloves which featured hydraulic assisted artificial muscles known as "XMSS" sewn into the shoulders and backs, allowing them to more easily carry heavy combat loads and weaponry.
- Ionic Warfare: Soldiers wearing Raider-pattern armor benefitted from technologies exported from Echnos, but these were unprotected from, and could be easily rendered inert by, EMP and Ionic weaponry.
- XMSS Limitations: Though the Exo-muscle subsystem allowed troopers of the Second Legion a greater lift strength and therefore energy conservation, the Raider-pattern typically limited the use of XMSS to the shoulders and back. While it could enhance one's strength in melee combat to a degree, it fell quite short of the true strength typically seen in power-armor systems.
The Raider-pattern armor was a model of protective suit issued to soldiers of the Sith Order's Second Legion, "The Jutrand Raiders." It was inspired by ancient imperial designs such as the Stormtrooper and Deathtrooper armors of the past, and the ancient legends from Stewjon as told by the legion's Imperator, Lord Commander Gerwald Lechner, who hailed from that world.
The armor was often manufactured on Echnos in accordance with the planet's alliance with the Second Legion and therefore benefitted from various technology including the Exo-Muscle Strength Enhancing Subsystem(XMSS) which was also manufactured on that world.
It favored the rough lifestyle and warrior-spirit of the Second Legion, constructed from thick Duraplate like the armor used by ancient sith troopers, painted in proud but wild patterns of black and red that were not always uniform in design, harkening back to their origins while remaining up to the harsh standards of the modern Sith Order. None could claim the glory of war without risk however, and though these thick armored plates could shrug off a few blasts or even bullets, and carry them through battlefield duels with the blade, they were far from invincible. Ionic warfare rendered their technological gifts inert like foul magic, and jedi wielding their mystic lightsabers could pierce just as easily.
Though stylized in the likeness of mythic warriors, they were at the end of every battle, still human.
But wearing the Raider-pattern, perhaps they felt up to the task even so.
