Strengths:
Quick to the Draw: The Ranger-class starfighter is a highly capable dogfighter with fast engines, fast turns, and fast guns.
Ready to Respond: Built with hyperdrive capabilities, the Ranger-class can respond to threats across all Free Worlds systems.
Weaknesses:
Lone Ranger: The Ranger-class is built only in number for individual rangers, and thus does not come with a wing to support it.
Guns Not Bombs: Although its weaponry is certainly not weak, it does not offer much of a threat to capital class vessels.
Description: Kuat’s entry into the Free Worlds Coalition wasn’t pretty, but the world is trying its best to fit in with the rest of its neighbours. And to help solidify ties with her allies, Kuat—through its premiere shipwright—decided to arm the Coalition Rangers with a starship. The product of this diplomatic effort is the Ranger-class starfighter, a capable multi-role fighter that has enough guns and toys to deal with the kinds of threats a Ranger is made for. It is even equipped with a single hyperdrive to allow for transit throughout the Free Worlds territory and, if need be, beyond.
Although the fighter is steadfast and defensible, it was not designed for large-scale conflict. Starfighters are designed to work in packs like a kath hound, and on their own they are no more than armed personal transports which can fend off pirates and little else. That is why KDY does not recommend a ranger to use this for anything but transport and limited combat, the two things a ranger is likely to encounter more often than not throughout their careers.
