Sarge Potteiger
Emotional Damage
Stupid.
Nagging.
Message indicator.
Blinking it away, the dropship not even in atmosphere yet, Sarge gave a snarl before ordering it back to the Resolve. The dropship didn't even land, instead opting to lower its ramp enough for Sarge to step out and onto the hangar before gunning the engines to take Squad Uriel back down to the surface. If Dredge was on planet, the Sergeant would find him. Of that he was certain.
Listening to the message, Sarge felt his teeth clench in consternation. "Boost my signal, Lieutenant." The man says, speaking to the bridge crew. Sure enough, his signal would be boosted so [member="Romeo Sin"] could hear him. By the time the man had dropped out of hyperspace, the bombardment had already ceased - it had been used to create a DMZ. Quite literally, Sarge had made a line in the sand on their own world.
He almost hoped someone would try to cross it.
"This is Colonel Potteiger of the Omega Protectorate. There is no bombardment. Said population is sheltering a wanted war criminal who, just moments ago, attempted to destroy the world of Kaltes. We are here to bring him to justice. Upload inbound." A tightbeam signal would emit from the Resolve towards the King's Crown, and should the link be accepted - as it was just a simple data transfer through the comm unit - they would get the information Sarge had available.
[member="Romeo Sin"] would get the gun camera footage of Dredge and his vessels over the world, and be able to see as the sky turned to ash before Dredge fled. He would get the inload of data from the Republic distress call for help, establishing that it had not, in fact, been the Protectorate who had done anything to Kaltes. Atop that, he would get the droid report that once Dredge had shown up on this world, not a soul had left, meaning he was still on the planet.
All of this was incorporated into the exchange Sarge had just had with whatever toady Dredge had seen fit to put in charge of scaring away the Protectorate.
Romeo would make his own conclusions of course, but that was of little consequence to Sarge. "I'm completing my objective." He adds. "Will you stand in my way?"
