Rebellion in Flames; Imperial Dominion of the Bothawui Hex

Post 2
Allies: ??
Opposition: ??
Objective: Assassinate politician Avix Triem

The political views of Avix Triem were well known to the Bothans and many of them agreed with him. There was currently a session of him ranting on about his views and where he would be speaking that evening. Zesiro took note of that, turned off the holovid and took a quick shower. Drying off, she rummaged through her belongings to find something appropriate to wear to the function this evening.

In her time with Empire, Zesiro had started to change. Instead of trying to take to bed every male she met, there was now only one. Though the relationship wasn't exactly what one might consider normal. They kept each other happy, occupied and her out of trouble...for the most part.

Finding the only dress she brought with her for the assignment, she shimmied herself into it. It was s simple black dress with a blue sash that went from her left shoulder to her right hip. A tassel descended from the sash down the length of the dress, hiding a clip that would hold her lightsaber. Zesiro clipped her saber to her hip and grabbed her cloak. It wasn't quite as quality looking as her dress, but not so underclass that it would stand out. She kept her hair down tonight, the blond tresses hanging down her back. As she walked out of the door, Zesiro picked up the only purse she owned and put her keycard inside that.

She remembered the address, looked at the time and made her way to where this evening's meeting was going to occur.

The Ravager didn’t have much in the way of hanger space, in fact the ship had been specially customised to hold a single TIE-Reaper to allow for infiltration by Inferno Team. Any other ships the team had were flown separately and in escort of the Raider-Class usually by rotation of Inferno Team themselves, yet as the Reaper slipped from the Cruiser and started its journey to Bothawui’s surface Team-II’s escorts were nowhere to be seen having already dispatched towards the sun bathed side of the planet.

“Checks are clear, landing zone appointed.” Inferno-Two, otherwise known as Twos due to his designation having an overly large amount of the number two within it stated from the co-pilots seat, “Initiating secondary drive thrusters.”

“Copy that.” Kayrce stated from her own seat, she tweaked some controls in front of her and allowed the Reaper to drop down towards the planet’s dark atmosphere. “Starting Radio jammers now.” A buzz was heard over their own comms as the jamming signal went to work, a few moments of deaf hearing and the Imperial frequencies for Inferno found the secret encrypted passage through, it allowed them to still talk with just a slight distortion.

“Nothing on the scopes Ma’am.” Their communication specialist and third member of Inferno stated from behind them, he was checking over the long range scanning devices for any signs of what may be coming. “Negative reading across the boards.”

“Copy that.” Kayrce said again, this time turning the Reaper to move due east. They had entered atmosphere and were currently skimming across a ravenous ocean that seemed to expand forever. To the un-initiated it would seem that they were lost. For Inferno Squad, they were making fantastic time.

x1 Skywalker Destroyer - Infuriation
x1 Mothma Destroyer - Intention
x3 CR90 Corvettes - Aplha, Bravo, Charlie
x1 Shield Medical Frigate - Mercy

Sitting aboard the flight deck of the Carrier "Insuppresable", Thane ran the situation through his head. It was the Red fleet's first engagement under the ORC banner. But this was not a time for sitting idly by as fellow Rebels died to fight against a tyrannical regime. Rendezvousing at the nebula, Bantam had asked for his assistant. Once there were in range, Thane's Comm Officer gave him the signal and they hailed their leader.

<<This is Carrier Insuppresable of the Red Fleet gathering for rendezvous, enroute to Bothawui. Over.>>

The flight crews were on standby for a jump to lightspeed as soon as they were given clearance.

He heard the call almost as soon as it came out to rally near the Bothawui system, jumping to the rallypoint in his ship, "The Firestorm". He rushed to the rally point alongside Bryce and glanced around. He took a deep breath and would get out of the chair and make sure all systems to were operational getting the guns reloaded on the manuals for Felix before returning back to the pilots chair.

It had been a long time since he had been in a fight like this, the last time had been a ground war were he was fighting a massive opposition in a sandstorm... it had been a long time ago... almost too long now. He shook the thought from his mind as he heard Bryce's voice crackle over the comms to wait for the Admirals order, he got his ship ready to leap into hyperspace in a moments notice, just watching, waiting for the call to be made.... he was too young not to have a little fun.

Ship changed due to me getting my personal ship approved.

"Deploy the assault craft onto the planet. The rest of the fleet will blockade the planet." Will said calmly to his officers. "Do not let any suspicious craft pass, but civilian craft may go through. We don't want to start anything that could get us in trouble with the government." A swarm of shuttles and starfighters flew out from the hangars of the fleet's three Imperial IVs, heading for Bothawui. Meanwhile, the capital ships started to close the difference between space and the planet.

About three kilometers from the planet's traffic lanes, Will ordered for the capital ships to turn around and hold a blockade. The corvettes did so quickly, but the Imperials and Dreadnoughts took some time to lumber around, until finally the fleet faced opposite to where they were before. "We are entering blockade formation. Stop the engines and prepare for a counterattack." Will said to his men, aware that the Bothans likely had connections with the Outer Rim Coalition or another rebellious group.

The fleet's momentum came to a stop, and an eerie silence began throughout the capital ships.

The Azalea dropped out of hyperspace right beside the other ORC vessels, boasting a full crew, something it hadn't seen in many, many moons. The anti-fighter corvette's thrusters died from the blooming, firey blue to a cooler, icier shade as the the crew reduced speed to a coast. At the helm, Dax looked out over the planet, the beginnings of a blockade forming before the bridge crew's eyes. "We're definitely going to need more ships..." muttered Kumi staring at the mass of durasteel assembled before them.

The Azalea was not built for ship-to-ship combat. She was built to chase down lone fighters and small frigates. Against a force like this? She could only hope to serve as a distraction...which was exactly what the Rogue Master was hoping to accomplish.

"The Red Fleet is here already Commander." informed one of the officers.
"Good. Lets see if any more of our boys show up before we go in, guns blazing."

Desmond C’artyom deactivated his stealth cloak and stared down at the dying Bothan. His eyes emotionless red pits. He wiped his blade on the Bothans back, leaving a long trail of red smears. As he was wiping the blade he began to hear a beeping emanating from the Bothan. Desmond reached inside the creatures coat and found the source. It was a holocom and it was currently receiving a call. Desmond clicked the answer button and withdrew a small data chip.

He clipped the data chip into the holocom and pressed answer. “What the? You’re suppose to be dead!” Desmond hung up the comms. He had all that he needed. Desmond withdrew the chip from the holocom and tossed the device next to the Bothan’s corpse. He plugged the data chip into a cybernetic port that was located on the nape of his neck. It immediately began to feed him all the information from the holocom.

The chip had pinged the last known caller's location and it now relayed the information to Desmond’s cybernetic mind. The place actually wasn’t too far from where he stood now. Desmond raised his hood and began to head in its general direction.

Cavris stood as he heard the blasts of battle echo in space from the inside of his drop ship. He looked at the other random troopers that were showing signs of anxiety and nerves. He snarled to himself, Weak. They will die. He grabbed his rifle and checked that he had enough ammo. Once he was happy with his equipment he imaged all the rebel scum and Jedi fodder that he would kill, it brought him much pleasure as he felt the ship enter the planet's atmosphere with a bump.

The ship soon landed and Cavris stepped onto the planet's surface, he looked around and felt a deep glee as he saw fellow Imperials marching through the city. Cavris moved with the rest of his squad heading to their commander. Bothan rebels have captured information that we don't want these rebel scum to have. Shoot and kill every last one of them, be wary of any Jedi on the planet and capture their main base of operation. Do I make myself clear?

Cavris chanted with the others yes before he headed into the streets alone. He refused to have someone with him, it would just be someone who he would have to save and he didn't have time for that poodoo. His weapon was charged and ready to fire when he spotted someone running into a building. He couldn't get a good look at who it was but he gave chase, hunting the person down, he confront them inside what seemed to be a living room.

Die Rebel Scum. He fire several shots and watched as the blaster bolts burnt through the rebel. Cavris moved closer and kicked the body to see who it was, appeared to be a civilian woman. He shrugged and continued on his hunt for those bothan rebels.

Today, I will kill a Jedi. Or at least stop them escaping. Perhaps torture them... Yes... That sounds good...

Natassia's blood froze as she saw other boys in white advancing. She was about to activate the radio when she saw some of them splitting into the streets. They were too young, too green; too confident. Thinking they could take on rebels, she knew, deep in her heart, that they would be among the first to die; and, sadly for them, she would use them as meatshields for the rest of her company. If they had no sense of self-preservation, so be it. They would serve the Empire in their own way.

"Seargents, move out! I want you to take column formations. Divide the squads into two fireteams - sweep and clean, but whatch your fire, or you'll have to answer to me. We're here to end a Rebellion. Not start another one."
As she finished barking her orders, she grabbed a private by the arm, the young man, another helmeted figure among others, turning back to look at her. "You. You're coming with me. Take up one of the spare radios."
Not even listening to his acknowledgement, she left the ruined building and went to regroup with the advancing troopers, trying to locate where their commanding officer was.
It is then that she saw one of them running after a figure in a building. Raising her blaster, she turned toward the private behind her, the heavy emitter strapped onto his back as to break through the distance and the scramblers from the Rebellion. "Stay put", she commanded coldly as she entered the building, and stopped dead in her tracks.
Her eyes went from the trooper to the dead civilian, and her hand went to her DL 44.

"Firing instructions are taught to stromtroopers very early in training."
She approached him and made sure he could see the different armor, signalising her rank as a Lieutenant.
"You are either very incompetent and trigger happy, or simply foolish. Either way, you're coming with me."

Captain, Lord Vader demands an update on the pursuit.

Apology accepted, Captain Needa

Suddenly it was as if the collar around Moff Graf's neck tightened, but it wasn't his collar that was bothering him; he was choking but nothing was choking him. He started struggling, making loud retching sounds, the novatroopers on the bridge rushing over to help their leader.

Then the grip released.

The novatroopers helped Tanomas up, the man putting his arms on the control consoles under the viewports to support him. Once everything was settled and people made sure he was okay, a sudden thought struck him. "Have the fleet deploy to blockade the planet, but keep us out here. Send a TIE Interceptor squadron out to patrol the rear of the ship, and prepare the tractor beams." He ordered.

The Millennium Falcon could not have jumped to lightspeed with the damage it had sustained over Scarif and during their chase out in the Bothawui system. It was still in the area, and there was only one place that the Imperials could not see:

Behind them.

[member="Kira Vaal"] would be his.

Meanwhile, reinforcements had arrived from Kamino and the Rishi Maze; a smaller but still powerful warfleet composed mainly of carrier vessels filled to the brim with equipment and assault walkers would arrive on the edge of the system, protected by an escort of several small frigates. They were separated from the rest of the invasion force, perfect for an enemy to steal them...

Desmond stepped out of the alley way and found himself immediately grateful for his hood. The rain poured down over the city streets, soaking everything not covered.Desmond’s shadowed face and piercing red eyes peered out from the hood. He watched the run down apartment boredly, he knew it was the place the call had originated from. At the moment he was preoccupied with listening though. The sounds of artillery and blaster fire were growing closer.

The men and women in white would soon be in the city Desmond had to find that serum before that happened. If he didn't, the results would be… Catastrophic. They might even lose Bothawui. C’artyom always gets the job done he thought to himself and knew it wouldn't come to that. Desmond trudged forward, his boots gently splashing in the stray puddle. His head tilted down to avoid the rain.

He entered the old ramshackle building and activated his stealth cloak. The place was a mess. Trash littered everywhere, graffiti on the walls, and a great barrels some homeless persons probably used as fire pits lined the way. Desmond raised his Verpine shatter pistol and cleared the first room. It led to a hall filled with more graffiti than the last room. Desmond crept through it and when he reached the end he could just make out voices.

“….What makes you so sure he won’t come?”

Desmond quietly opened the door at the halls end.

“There’s no way he could’ve found this place, just keep making those vest!”

The Bothan gave out a unsatisfied grunt and hung up. “The feth I will…” he whispered to himself.

Desmond studied the room from the confines of his stealth cloak boredly. It was dim. Powder residue covered everything. Tables took up the main area and explosive vest lay scattered across the tables. Desmond approached one and studied it. They seemed the ordinary suicide vest, but for one thing. There was some sort of strange cannister on them. Desmond pointed his gun to the Bothan and decloaked.

“Don’t move,” Desmond said in his Imperial accent.

“Woah woah woah man, don't shoot!” The Bothan said as he raised his hands and slowly crept backwards.

“Stop moving!” Desmond shouted. The Bothan did not stop.

“FOR THE REBELLION! FOR THE DREAM!” The Bothan shouted as he jumped for one of the vest. Desmond fired his pistol and the round took the Bothan’s leg clean off.

He noticed her higher rank, it meant little to him right now. This fight was going to cost lives, as long as it wasn't his then he didn't care who lived and who died. Civilians here support the rebels. Gunning them down is no different than shooting rebels themselves. Also, if the rebels see us shooting "innocent" lives then they are more likely to surrender. Weak-hearted fools. Cavris barked back at the lieutenant.

He barged past her on his way out, she might be a higher rank but not his commanding officer, at least for now. He had his orders, sweep the streets, find the bothans, kill the bothans. He was also going to kill any Jedi if he was lucky to find them, he held his blaster rifle ready as he saw screaming civilians rushing away like scared little mice. He shot just above them, enough to scare them but not to far that they shouldn't fear their lives. He laughed deeply as he watched the action.

His eyes darted around, searching for any rebels that dared to cross his path. He was a soldier, trained to kill and he knew how to do and enjoyed doing it.

Objective: Assassinate rebel politician Avix Triem

Glad to have brought the cloak, Zesiro raised the hood to keep from getting wet from the now falling rain. Haling a cab near the hotel, she gave the droid driver the address she needed to go to and waited while it took off into the traffic. Here the town close to the spaceport was nicely kept and clean, but she had the feeling if she looked deeper, things got much dirtier both within the city and the people.

Culture was high on this planet and Zesiro enjoyed some of the quality that could be afforded. Being on the payroll of the Empire while not great was better than what she had before. This trip was of a business nature, so anything she spent would be paid back later. That was beside the point though and she put it out of her mind.

Tonight, she needed to get in and close to Avix Triem and somehow gain a form of trust to get him alone to assassinate him. He was used to being in the spotlight now so many eyes would be on him as he would give his speech tonight.

Soon enough the taxi arrived, she paid her fare and climbed out when the door opened for her. She had been expecting that and look at the person with a nod of thanks and headed inside. Here the people were dressed in a wide variety of clothes. Some nicer than her to others that were borderline paupers. In other words, she wasn't going to stick out as much, but she would still stand out, just due to how she moved.

The natural lithe grace was the envy of any female and the desire of a man to possess that woman. Though it was something she had worked on changing, it was too ingrained in her and that would never go away.

Taking up a position along one of the walls, she looked around the room where the speech was going to happen, searching for security and other things that would hinder her in her assignment.

There was a balcony up top that ran the length of the room, but no side rooms that she could see. Just the seats on the flat floor and a stage at the front. This set up could both be good and bad from her perspective. He had not yet arrived so she had time to consider her options.

"All craft this is Admiral Huddar, we can no longer wait our remaining force to muster. Reports from Bothawui are grim. The Empire has begun a naval blockade of the planet and if we do not break it then the remaining rebellion forces will be crushed. Along with this coded signal are jump coordinates to the outer system. I want all fighters to launch and we will jump into the system at range, try to draw the enemy away from the planet so those who can may escape. May the force be with us..."

With the command given Bryce ordered "Zero" to take a more aggressive stance. Shields were raised and all weapons made ready. They would lead the relief force in. As coordinates were uploaded "Zero" made her final calculation and jumped ahead of the main fleet.

Later as he and the lead fighters came out of hyperspace and almost dropped right on top of the relief force. Catching both sides by surprise Bryce quickly got on the comm and took command of the situation. They had no intel on these new enemy ships but from the size and composition of the fleet they would have the advantage when their full fleet jumped in.

"All fighter wings this is Commander Bryce aboard "Zero". I have no fething idea where these new Empire ships came from but they are caught flat footed and have no fighter coverage. Target the escort frigates and take them out and any fighters as the try to launch. Lets soften them up before the main fleet arrives!"

Jim had just gotten out of hyperspace, to arrive to the scene of a major space battle... this was his specialty. Suddenly his N-1 Starfighter began receiving multiple communications from ally transmissions.

"R2-3Z, locate any transmissions by the vessel codenamed "Zero". See if the boss has given any orders recently." The droid whistled compliantly.

"All fighter wings this is Commander Bryce aboard "Zero". I have no fething idea where these new Empire ships came from but they are caught flat footed and have no fighter coverage. Target the escort frigates and take them out and any fighters as the try to launch. Lets soften them up before the main fleet arrives!" Jim heard Bryce command over his com.

"Alright Boss, this is Jim Pehico, the back-up is a couple parsecs behind me." Jim said now flying his N-1 Starfighter towards the escort frigates. Jim dodged and weaved through the Tie-Fighters trying not to take up his precious time with Starfighters and focusing entirely on the escort shuttles. The closest escort shuttle's turbo-lasers began aiming at Jim's N-1 Starfighter but it was hopeless, Jim afterall was one of the best, if not the best pilot to come out of Naboo in ages. he shot all of his proton torpedoes at the escort frigate's engines, damaging them beyond repair. While flying back around he hadn't noticed a Tie-interceptor on his tail. he tried to shake him but the pilot's experience matched his own. The Tie-Interceptor shot Jim Pehico's left engine leaving him barreling towards Bothawaui.

"Easy!?" Jim called to his panicking droid. "3Z, buddy, I need you to fix that engine before we crash!"

Sitting in wait he tapped his foot impatiently hearing the chatter from other ships, he had been expecting this for some time and really wanted to test out his new ship in a real battle. The chatter seemed relevant to him but nothing about going right then and there, more of how they would most likely need reinforcements, which was a big burst in his bubble, that would take hours.

Lucky for him the Admiral say that, as he heard the Admiral come over the comms he almost lept for joy as he prepared for their jump into hyperspace and prepared their guns for firing. He waited for the official order impatiently, the jump at the tip of his fingers as he waited, every second was killing him until finally the order was given and he jumped into hyperspace and came out on the right side of the confusion.

As soon as they dropped in he heard Bryce come over comms and tell them to target the Escort frigates, and he did more then oblige firing his guns at the escort frigates the shoots hitting the other ships hard, he continued to pound them as he watched the readings of the other ships coming into the zone and joining in the fight, today was a good day.

The Reaper had been lowered into a thicket of trees that grew uncontrolled across a small island which had by all intent been nothing but a speck upon a vast ocean of featureless water. The Imperials inside had allowed the readings of the ship to completely die down before they departed into the trees with blasters ready in hand.

“Inferno, report.” Captain Aidross could be heard across their headsets. The encryptions causing some static, but allowing instantaneous communication with the Ravager that would be sat in orbit.

“Ground side at designated checkpoint.” Kayrce spoke back, her voice could be heard to break as her own systems made sure that any interceptions would only hear broken noise. “Ready to proceed on your mark.”

“Copy that Inferno. We have you on tracking now.” Aidross and the other elements of Ravager command would be purely watching them now, co-ordinating the strike team from their relatively safe position. “Energy source has been detected due west of your position. Proceed and investigate as expected. We will assess from there.”

“Understood.” Kayrce raised her hand and waved the team forward, their black armour fading into the nights darkness as they proceeded onwards through the trees. There target was near, they just had to catch them by surprise.

For once that she could actually fly a combat mission worth doing for the pay she is being paid... the rebel cell forming on Utapau was counting on her to fight. Made up mostly of ex-CIS personnel, Genius Cell was to assist the Rebellion in one risky exfil mission as well as an opportunity to fight the Imperial fleet. And possibly capture Imperial ships, thanks to the AT-AT barges laden with B2 battle droids as well as more specialized equipment, for which the precious organics are preserved among the boarding crew. Not that Janick had that much of a say personally in how the boarding parties are organized, but she is to pilot her own craft once again, loaded with two heavy Stalgasin bombs, as is the case on all the craft involved. According to reports coming in from other cells, the Outer Rim Coalition is going to support the rebellion, and may even be already at war against the Empire. While they are in hyperspace, they are getting through a briefing that will make clear what they have to do once they revert to realspace.

"Bothan spies report that the enemy is preparing to blockade Bothawui: stealing one of the enemy ships might be a way to break it. Our role is to disable the chosen enemy ship and then we'll send in the AT-AT barges. Once their cargo has been expended, they will return back to the Empyrean and load up with more droids and heavy weapons" the Pau'an cell leader lectured the main parties involved.

"Therefore it is imperative that the AT-AT barges be protected and kept as far back as possible while we engage those unshielded excuses for a fighter; however, you might have the ability to take three or four hits at most before the shields deplete in a Chiloon" Janick commented in front of the other pilots involved.

"Roger, roger" the other pilots acknowledged.

Jim was spiraling towards bothawui. It wasn't looking good for Jim. he checked his 6 to make sure no TIE's were following him but it seemed that he wasn't going to be causing any problems soon. suddenly his view screen in his Starfighter went from blinking red to green and with a simple press of a button, his engine stabilized and he was able to stop himself from stalling out.

"YAHOOOOO" Jim screamed as he pulled up. "3Z buddy you did it!" Jim was not going to last very long his ship begun sputtering. "Bloody hell!" Jim yelled smacking the console. His engines were going critical though stable for now, if Jim didn't land within the next minute his engine was going to blow up. Unfortunately the only ship close to him was an Imperial Star Destroyer, it was either taking his chances in there or blow up.

"3Z I want you to leave the ship running so the engine goes critical and explodes. We're going to do at least a little damage to this ship if we're going to get captured." Jim had been through everything with this Starfighter but she had little to no chance of making it. Might as well go out with a boom.

Jim landed the ship on the star destroyer, and surrendered to the Imperials as Jim and R2 were being taken away his N-1 Starfighter exploded along with the several TIE's in the hangar bay, destroying all, if not most of the hangar bay to be destroyed. The large commotion caused the guards to be distracted giving time for Jim to elbow the guard in the helmet and 3Z to electrocute the other guard. 3Z then used his buzz saw to cut off the cuffs.
Jim grabbed his blaster that the guard took.

"C'mon 3Z we gotta get out of here." Jim than broadcasted a transmission through ORC channels. "This is Jim Pehico, I require extraction from a Star Destroyer, sending coordinates now." Jim than continued stealthily in the Star Destroyer's corridors.

Post II

Theodosia tried her best to not break down in front of her fellow Imperials. Wrapped in the green Moff uniform jumpsuit, she felt like she couldn't breath. Under normal circumstances, meeting the Grand Moff was stressful, and worry inducing, but this, this was shear terror. Theodosia was coming in without prior confirmation to argue for this planet to govern, but in reality that wasn't her objective. After the retreat on Manda she had been building a structure of corrupted officials to smuggle illegal contraband into the Empire, partly for her lust for money, and partly in anger against her planet of governance being ripped away from her. Of course, Bothawui was the headquarters of most of her counterparts, being so adept at subterfuge.

Theodosia was here to silence them, and recover their funds before Imperial Intelligence could figure out her web of corruption. But she needed an alibi as to why a Moff was entering a war zone. especially one as important as this. No doubt it would infuriate Grand Moff Graf, but if she was going to cover up her wrong doings, she would have to go through with this meeting. But after jumping into the system, the meeting with the Grand Moff seemed unlikely.

As the shuttle began to revert into real space, fighters tore across the viewport, followed by rays of plasma. It seemed the Empire was fighting more than just the Bothawui defense forces and their Rebellion counterparts. The Lieutenant in command of the shuttle shouted, "Evasive maneuvers!" Theodosia held on to one of the railings above, as did her escorting Stormtroopers, "Lieutenant! Send a message to the Grand Moff's flagship! We need more than a measly two fighter escort to brave this!" The Lieutenant relayed the orders to the co-pilot, who began to input the message when the shuttle rocked with the blast of an E-25's primary cannons. The co-pilot called back from the pilot, "We've lost communications array, sensor relay, and our shields are at emergency power. Our sublight engines can't fight the orbit of Bothawui anymore, we are going down!" Fear struck into the eyes of Theodosia, now they were an unidentified Imperial shuttle, heading towards the hostile planet of Bothawui. They were on their own, and Theodosia was not a survivalist.
