Reborn from the wreckage

Right, so they were going to be walking. The pod would remaiin on his ship until he found a buyer. For now the mission was getting Weyla some clothes. This would prove interesting as Holden knew nothing about women's fasion. He really only knew what looked good on when he saw it together, and mostly what was worn under the clothes. They passed by a few shops, and finally stopped at one that seemed to be a fair price with quality clothing. They needed to have clothes that would hold up because there was not a lot of room to keep clothes on the ship.

"Okay don't know how women think, but in space we need something durable, practical, and something that looks decent. From there, it's up to you as far as style is concerned. Though a warning. Find something that isn't provactive or shows off too much skin. It won't help, and there will be a lot of men trying to score with you if you are advertising the goods."

Holden didn't know if any of that just computed and it felt awkward. He reminded himself that if it ever came time for the sex talk with the cyborg someone else, a female, was going to do that. If it was even ever going to be an issue. By the force he never hoped that would be an issue. Wyla was... well innocent in a world that was not at all. Holden felt as though he needed to protect that.

"You want to go on in, and I'll see about finding a buyer. Either that or I can just stay here."

Wyla followed along, a slight spring in her step as she took in the sights. She made sure to note the types of clothing she saw on others, and also in the various window displays. The cyborg listened to Holden’s advice about clothing style and what she should look for. She merely blinked and nodded in response, failing to make the connection between showing skin and men ‘trying to score’. They had paused outside a small storefront; upon first glance it seemed that it would have an ample selection of practical clothing.

“Wyla will go in now. Holden may return when business is complete.” She said, feeling self-confident. Graceful steps brought her inside the store, where she began to browse their goods. Her hands reached out to touch a soft woolen sweater, though she found that she received little information about the texture of the fabric. The loss of tactile sensation was likely due to her synthskin, for now she would need to rely on visuals. There was also something about this experience that struck her, an image of hands holding delicate silken fabrics came to her, but it was gone as quickly as it had come.

It occurred to her that she may need some assistance with this task. Wyla approached the counter and decided to query the store clerk. The friendly woman behind the counter smiled and asked how she could help. “Clothing.” Wyla stated plainly. “Durable, practical, not provocative.” She finished, giving the woman an idea of what she was looking for. The clerk took Wyla’s measurements and they started off around the store, picking out a few items that met her needs. As Wyla lacked the funds to pay for the clothing, the clerk set her selections on the counter and agreed to await Holden’s return. The cyborg moved to a small wooden chair near the counter and had a seat, her eyes on the doorway.

Holden didn't need long to find a buyer for the pod. In the course of two hours, he had managed to locate a buyer, negotiate a price, and have the pod unloaded at the man's ship. Apparently he was in the business of transporting cyborgs to potential cllents, and he was in desperate need of a pod for a recent job that gave him an extra load than he had a pod for. Easy Credits.

Walking back to the shop, Holden was counting the credits, and had a little spring in his step. He wasn't expecting a payday today, so that was a bonus. It put him one step closer to the expedition he was planning. The slavager was happy, and had a smile on his face when he walked into the store to meet Wyla.

She had been sitting in a chair waiting for him. Apparently Holden had forgotten to giver her some credits to purchase the clothes, but he settled with clerk right away. He also gave a small purse of credits to Wyla, half of what he got for the pod, since it had been hers to begin with. This way if she ever needed anything, she'd have credits to get supplies. For now, Holden was flying pretty high, so there wasn't much that would keep him from being more than generous.

"C'mon Wyla, let's get you settled into a room on the ship, and then get out of here. Got to be other treasures and srtifacts out there waiting for us to find them!"
