Recruitment Campaign (Siobhan)

Tegs smiled. "Then dinner it is! I'll let you choose; in the restaurant downstairs, or just the two of us?" She had an idea which Siobhan would choose. While not anti-social, Siobhan was not the sort to enjoy crowds of happy people.

Tegaea looked over the last things on her list and shut down the computer, rising to her feet. "Come on, let's go! I always make sure I have fun the night before a campaign...because you never know if it'll be the last."

"I'd prefer just the two of us. You cooking?" Siobhan responded, as Tegs had anticipated she would. Siobhan was not keen on crowds, especially of shiny happy people. She spared Anya a look before turning to head out of the office and follow Tegs. She probably would not hang out in fancy restaurants outside Omega headquarters a lot, they made her uncomfortable.

"Amen to that. You do know how to have...fun. I...sometimes got problems relaxing before going into actiom. Keep thinking what could go wrong. But, yeah, gotta live a little. Mara seems to be, well, settling in a bit, more or less, given what she's been through. She's been a big help with all the bureaucratic stuff." Siobhan actually had organised files now! Instead of random papers haphazardly strewn across the desk!

"I'm glad to hear it, Siobhan. Anya, see that Mara is shown to a place to stay. While we're gone she'll stay here under supervision from one of the other directors."
"Of course, Ms Alcori." Anya left.

"Now, come with me, Siobhan. I was indeed going to cook. Since you seem to think it was so good last time I will have to oblige!"

They progressed quickly to Tegaea's palatial room, and she started getting things out to the counter. "You want to help? Crack three eggs into that bowl and mix them up," Tegaea ordered.

"Hmm. Actually I don't want to help! You seem to be doing pretty well on your own. I'd just get in the way!" Siobhan mock protested, then started quickly working on the eggs. "So, you still ain't gonna spill about Anya to me, are you? I don't buy that proper and formal things she puts up. You said it was...special. So?"

Tegaea looked over her shoulder, shook her head and went back to the meat. "You're like a kath hound on a trail, aren't you? Won't take no for an answer. Well, the plain fact is that she's much more than she seems, though I don't know exactly what it is. She has some sort of power...with the Force, I guess. You'll see, she's coming with us tomorrow."

Tegaea seemed uncertain how to continue. She didn't seem to want to kiss and tell, yet clearly had something in mind. She shook her head though.
"I'm sorry, Siobhan. It's private, just like I keep our games private. I'll tell you some day."

She looked back to the food, taking the eggs from Siobhan and adding bread crumbs and flour to batter the meat and fry it. Soon they had a very tasty meal ready to eat.
"Here's to our first big operation together," Tegaea said, raising a glass.

Siobhan sighed, looking a bit disappointed, but then at long last seemed to relent, respecting Tegs' privacy, even though she didn't like mysteries at all. For now at least. She frowned and then patted the mercenary on the shoulder. "Ok, I'll stop...for now. I, uh, don't wanna push the issue, but you gotta tell someday," she said in what passed as a reassuring tone for Siobhan.

The rogue Knight raised her glass as well and it clinked nicely with Tegs. "Yeah, to our first big op. And to us suddenly moving up in the world and being 'respectable' now! Well, as respectable as we can be. Wouldn't have thought I'd see that happen." Too much would suck anyway.

Nice apartment, a job she was good at without the yammering of the Council and their lack of comprehension of reality...it was quite close to what she had sometimes imagined having with Adril. After all, even her membership in the Jedi Order had been more connected to the fact that Adril had been one as well than any real belief in their values beyond fighting scum.

The meal was quiet for a while as Tegaea looked down at her plate, considering. Tegaea suddenly smirked, back to her own fire. "You know, Siobhan, if I told you it might make you view me very differently. But...we're going to be relying on each other tomorrow, and you really want to know, so here it is."

"I met Anya about three years ago on board a derelict space cruiser my company was searching for salvage. We found her encased in carbonite in one of the storage holds. We determined that the ship was several thousand years old, and that a malfunction had caused the ship to exit hyperspace near the Balmorra system and suffer catastrophic damage. It looks like an interdictor ship ambushed it and then tore it apart. We found no trace of the crew. She was still alive, the power source for her prison was starting to run low, but we were able to defrost her and get her out. It took her months to recover, even to the point of being able to speak and see. I'm not going into her history - you can take that up with her."

"Either way, I determined she had control of the Force, but was not a Jedi. I offered her a position with me, and we became friends. She has an...aura about her, an aura of command. We became lovers, as I'm sure you can guess. She doesn't play any games like we do though, or at least not at first." A blush touched Tegaea's cheeks. "I'm going to regret telling you this, I know, but she is sometimes MY Mistress. I'm not a very submissive person as you can guess, but there are times when I just don't want to be the one in charge. So I get her tie me up when we have sex sometimes. Doesn't go any further than that...most of the time we just do it the normal way. She's a very special person...and I care for her a lot, and for you."

She finished her drink. "Well, now I've told you that embarrassing little secret, have you got anything to tell me in return?"

Siobhan was quiet most during the tale. "Frozen in for several thousand years," she muttered to herself, then she had to suppress a chuckle when Tegs got flustered. "I knew there was something between you," she muttered a bit smugly. Well, that did not require great powers of observation! She patted Tegs on the shoulder with her flesh hand and leaned forward to give her a kiss.

"It's really a surprise...thinking you'd be subby to someone else...but it ain't embarrassing," she admitted, but didn't seem to be wanting to make fun of Tegs. "Adril was subby as well...sometimes, not often...and you know how willful she was! So far as I'm concerned, you're still Madam Whiplash...and I care a lot for you," she grinned a bit, trying to be reassuring.

"Well, I, uh, like it in the arse...sometimes," she admitted with a flush.

A new thought popped into her mind. "So...Anya doesn't, uh, mind what we're doing?" she asked a bit awkwardly. Admittedly, Anya had already seen them in bed and just seemed strangely amused by it all instead of making it clear to Siobhan to keep her hands off her girl, but the ex-Jedi still felt the need to ask.

Tegaea laughed. "That's your deep dark secret? Well, my little pet, I must think of what to do with this new information!"

"Anya doesn't mind. Like I said, she's a bit unusual in that regard, I guess. She says it's our choices that define us, and that those choices are always in motion, always changing."
She got up and cleared the dishes away. "Did I ever tell you how I got into the Madam Whiplash gig?" she called over her shoulder from the sink.

"Got real high on spice once on Nar Shaddaa...was supposed to deliver it to some crazy cult guy, but, hey, folks kinda died on us so...woke up naked in an alley a couple miles away. Saw really funny colours and spent the next five hours seeing everything' double," she laughed a bit. "Headache was a real queen later!"

"Oh, ok." Siobhan didn't seem to quite understand Anya's, for want of a better word, liberal stance, but at least it meant the ex-Jedi wouldn't be the other woman that got in the way. This one think that meant one less thing for Siobhan to potentially angst about! She frowned at the line about choices and felt a stab of jealousy at what the two seemed to have, but then pushed that thought down. Don't get petty anad start whining about what might have beens. She's gone, you're here carrying on, so woman up at last, the inner voice chided her.

"Err, because Alliance pay was real crappy?" Siobhan joked sardonically, gulping down a glass of whiskey and oggling Tegs a bit before getting up to join her at the sink and clean the dishes. "Actually, no, you didn't...and since you're in spilling mood," she whispered inti her ear. Mistress would have to discipline her being so nosy and snooping into Her private affairs!

"Ha! You seem to end up naked a lot, Kerri," Tegaea said happily. She saw something was on Siobhan's mind, but she didn't ask. She wasn't a psychologist, and she figured it was either about Adril or Anya's liberal attitude. In both cases she really had nothing to say!

"Some pets are too nosy for their own good, and must be corrected..." Tegaea said with a purr. "Well, there is the fact that the Alliance were a bunch of pigs who paid me nothing. The main reason though is that I have a knack at telling people what to do...stop sniggering, you! Anyway, I knew I was into girls from an early age, and the pigs I had to serve with only confirmed that. So I wanted to make a name for myself as someone who could provide a safe environment for girls like me to express themselves. It started as a sort of one off, but I grew to like it so much I considered quitting...but I need something else to do as well, so I did both jobs."

"Well, I haven't seen you ever complain!" Siobhan responded. Of course, shortly afterwards she had been chased by Trandoshans, who for some reason had looked pink to her. She wasn't really sure why, perhaps they wanted their spice! One could assume that pursuit had been a bit less hilarious at the time, but looking back it seemed quite humorous.

"You being good at telling people what to do, I hadn't noticed," Siobhan snickered a bit, giving Tegs a light swat on her muscular arm. Apparently Siobhan was also switching rapidly between brooding about what might have beens and being relatively light-hearted. "Ok. I see. Thanks for telling, I know at least one girl Madam Whiplash gave an opportunity to express herself," she said with a bashful smile. Always kinda thought guys were...lacking somehow, took me a while to notice I, well, liked being tied up and stuff."

Which might be interesting considering how often she involuntarily ended up in dungeons!

Reaching out with the Force she pulled her whiskey glass towards and took a swig. "So, campaign day tomorrow. Kind of excited. Cool to know I'll be going with someone...I can trust and actually knows the game" she gave Tegs a look as she finished off her drink. Instead of people who'd wander off to explore ancient enclaves while there was a battle raging a couple miles away! Better. Enjoy the moment while it lasts.

Tegaea smiled, still a little bashful. "Well, thanks. I'm glad I was able to help. It's been pretty fun for me as well, you know!"

They toasted. "Here's to success tomorrow." Tegaea leaned forward, "Pet...present yourself in my bedroom at once for...inspection!"

As is becoming a habit in this thread, we fade to black. This writer notes however that the battle for Dahomey will likely be lovingly written out, complete with the deaths of thousands...which is an acceptable situation it seems.

When Tegs came Siobhan was standing at attention ramrod straight in her bedroom, naked. Her garments had been piled up in a corner. "Do I pass muster, ma'am?" she asked submissively. "I couldn't find...an appropriate uniform. I'm so sorry for my...negligence," she grinned.

Mysteriously the scene would fade to black, as if by magic. This one does not fully understand the process and recalls the saying "make love, not war." Admittedly, this one has little sympathy with flower children and peaceniks, but must confess to being disturbed by the idea that slaughtering innocents is regarded as less offensive.

Regardless, on the next morning our brave heroines had returned from the forbidden realm of adult fun and were preparing to enter the realm of mayhem and murder. Of course, it all for a noble cause, that of toppling a warlord who wouldn't cooperate with the Republic and seizing a planet's gold reserves!

Siobhan was up quite early and quickly ran through her exercises in Tegs' personal gymasium, going through a series of chin-ups and pushups and some lightsabre training before showering. Her Jedi robes had been discarded in favour of paramilitary-style black combat pants and a shirt to fit in better, complete with gear vest to hold grenades. She then started eating quickly, choosing an assortment of food that was healthy enough. Living on Nar Shaddaa had taught her to eat fast.

"Right. Off to Dahomey and mayhem. Warlords and goons await."

"Don't worry, pet, every infraction will be corrected," Tegaea said.

And thus the curtain fell. It was indeed an oddly Anglo-Saxon aversion to sexuality and an obsession with violence. Still, this writer must bow to the inevitable and move on. After all, there is a plot somewhere in this thread!

Tegaea was up even earlier than Siobhan, and had finished her routine before Siobhan arrived. She ate her meal and got packed up, ready to go.
"Yeah, let's get going. Remember, if anything happens to me you're in charge of the operation," Tegaea said. This writer hopes that doesn't happen....

"That's...not a tall order at all. You do know my main method's frontal assault? My awesomeness will just have to keep bolts from hitting you. I'll let you claim the glory since I'm generous," Siobhan promised her half-jokingly, though she really didn't want to be in charge of the operation. Despite occasional delusions of grandeur, she knew that leading troops wasn't her strength. Hitting things real hard and looking awesome while doing so was more like it.

She gave Tegs a light slap on the shoulder. "Anyway, lead the way, boss. We'll soon be back home celebrating. Do we get an 'inspiring' speech to boost our morale before we hit the ground?" she asked rhetorically. As Tegs' writer might know, Siobhan's cross-dimensional counterpart was known to give very inspiring speeches of the 'Go out and kill anything hostile' variety. They tended to be just as long as that line would imply.

Taking a speeder, they soon reached the hangar bay where the troops were assembling. Over 200 mercenaries, many of them grizzled veterans and with the attitude that came with the type and experience, had assembled. Some shot Siobhan some glances, either because she was knew or they obviously had an idea about what sort of extracurricular activities they had been getting up to. The gunships, transport vessels and various other vehicles that had been commandeered for the operation were assembled as well. All in all it was quite force. While small in number, it made up for it in training and equipment.

All was ready for the Conquista for gold, cobalt and cheap labour. Or the noble war of liberation, depending on political perspective.

"And here I thought you were going to try an advance in echelon culminating in a double envelopment!" Tegaea joked.

After a moment of reflection they both departed. The forces were assembled, and Tegaea ordered them to assemble in their transports for the flight into space. Once there they would meet up with the Omega fleet component of the operation. From there it was several hours in hyperspace to Dahomey.

Once on board Tegaea did not stay with Siobhan, but went to each squad, explaining the actual plan, making sure every single person understood the plan. She uploaded maps of the target areas, and made sure everything was primed.

"What's an echelon?"

Siobhan ended up sitting opposite an older, bald and grizzled veteran who was currently playing some sort of video game on a console. This made her note that maybe she had to purchase one of those as well! It seemed like a fun way to pass the time. "First time out?" the mercenary asked her. He was heavily scarred and cybernetically modified, it reminded Siobhan a bit of bad action holovids.

She shrugged casually. "With Omega. Done this before. You?"

The merc shook his head. A beeping sound came from his console, apparently he had just made a new highscore. "Been here since the start. Before that, well, anywhere, where there's credits and mayhem. Onderon, Corellia, Artam, Anaxes. It's a brave new world full of opportunities and so many people can only resolve their differences by shooting each other. Maker bless the boneheaded ideologues."

"Here's to them. Least thanks to their tireless efforts we'll never get redundant!"

"Us and hookers," he chuckled, then pointed a metallic finger at her lightsabre. "Former Jedi or Sith? Not that I care much, we're all equal opportunities there."

"Used to be a Jedi, then quit. Got an offer I couldn't refuse."

The mercenary put his console and leaned forward a bit. "No second thoughts, no sudden urge to quote the Code and wonder you've lost your halo? We're evil, warmongering killers after all, impeding the progress of civilisation and manifest destiny."

Siobhan laughed a bit. "Gee, here I thought I had horns, halos suck," she joked. "I'm good at hitting things real hard, not pointless meditation. They want to sit around uselessly in their Temple and babble, that's ain't my thing. And I don't care much about politics," Except when it came to the Sith, but her hatred for them was personal not political.

"Faced a Jedi once. Got to hand it to him...it was one hell of a fight. Wiped out most the team, chopped my arm off, cut off half my face. Course, his Paddy had gotten incinerated, so I understand he was a wee bit pissed. Bugger had to retreat...then he realised at the last moment I'd booby-trapped the place and stepped on a mine. Getting the hell out when the building came down on me was a queen...but so worth it. How'd you get those?" he pointed to her mechanical replacements.

"I got bored with flesh and decided to cut a bit. Seems like a fun idea at the time. Then I saw all these cool mech implants on the 'net. It was totally in at the time," Siobhan said deadpan.

"Hilarious."

"Lightsabre blew up on me. Sith cut the eye out."

"Made them pay?"

"Yeah, kicked her arse later," Siobhan smiled grimly. And one day I'm gonna find and kill the queen, she promised herself.

"Missile to the head solves everything. Well, all my problems. So...all the stories about secret Jedi sex rituals aren't true?" he asked with a sly grin. "All these rumours about stimulating ways to use the Force?"

"If the first were true, I wouldn't be here. As for the second...there may or may not be so many fun ways, which I can't tell you about!" she looked amused at the mock disappointment on his face.

This writer sadly knows nothing about secret Jedi sex rituals, alas. Perhaps they've not written with wild enough Jedi!

When finally they emerged from hyperspace near Dahomey the Omega forces faced no opposition. It seemed as though the General and his men were strictly a local affair, ruling over the planet's surface rather than controlling space. This gave the OP forces a massive advantage, as it allowed them to strike where and when they wanted.
"All fighter crews to your stations. All bomber crews to your stations. All insertion forces to your transports. Stand by for launch." The generic loudspeaker announced that it was time, and the attack craft launched.

Tegaea appeared in the hanger, clearly in her element. She commanded the troops to be ready with apparent ease, encouraged them, cajoled them to fight, and reminded them of the rewards of victory. She saw Siobhan and headed over. "Ready to go? Remember, you're my anvil; once you begin your assault I'll come in from the other side. Trap them all, none of them escape. No prisoners until the battle's over. Spare the civilians if possible."
With these final reminders in place Tegaea boarded one of the gunships and the assault began....

"Sure thing, boss. I'll be so kind and leave some over for you," Siobhan promised her confidently.

The mercenary brandished a heavy grenade launcher, loading it with high-explosive shells. "May the best one win?" he asked with a cocky grin.

Siobhan nodded. "You mean me? Sure! Do aim that thing in the right direction."

"What, you're telling you can't mega Force jump out of the blast radius before impact? For shame."

"Oh, I can. I might just get cranky!"

"Something tells me I'd like to see that. See you on the other side."

Siobhan and the rest of the mercenaries assigned to the group she was with climbed into one of the gunships and soon they were flying low across the planet's surface. Much of Dahomey was still covered by jungle and plains, most of the towns amounted to little more than villages when one looked beyond the capital city, which housed the only functional spaceport. However, the planet was rich in resources, cobalt and gold chief among them, which strictly speaking was the sole reason to take an interest in it given that droids made sweated labour unnecessary. As they swooped down the locals were soon alerted to their presence, the mercs could hear yelling coming from frightened civilians running for the safety of their houses or whatever shelter they could find. A few civilians lit small fires, burning tyres or anything they could find. One assumed this was supposed to be a signal to the militia that intruders were coming. As they descended Siobhan could make out wrecked and corpses on the ground, some of them were little more than charred flesh and bone.

The relative serenity was broken by anti-air fire that came their way. Militiamen clad in a variety of clothes, most of them barely had anything that could be called proper armour, though many were tattooed and wore what could perhaps best be described as protective amulets, opened fire on their gunship. Red laser blasts and sluggers streaked through the air, creating a wild cacophony of sound.

Most of their shots were poorly aimed, but the sheer amount made it dangerous and a few shots hit the gunship. The pilot engaged in evasive manouevres, pushing the engines faster to evade their fire. Then he inserted a disc into the player installed on his computer and smirked. "Time for the psych warfare."

The loud music that subsequently assaulted the ears of anyone close to the gunship could best be described as this Galaxy's version of Ride of the Valkyries. "Haha. Always introduce yourself in style, I say!" the grizzled mercenary laughed happily, almost yelling to make himself heard over the loud noise. He aimed his grenade launcher at a concentration of hostiles firing at them with an emplaced blaster cannon and squeezed the trigger. With a hollow grunt, the shell was discharged in an upward arc and came tumbling on the hostiles, blowing them to pieces in a small firestorm.

Siobhan was standing next to their gunner, who was busy filling the air with laser bolts fired from his auto cannon. Holding her lightsabre up high, she reflected several right back to the shooters firing them from the ground. She looked untroubled by the fact that given how fast the gunship was flying, she could easily fall out if she lost her balance.

Suddenly she received a warning from the Force and her gaze fell upon a group of shooters taking up position on her roof. Two of them held primitive missile launchers, aiming at them. "Rocketeers!" she called out. The pilot heard her warning fast enough and pulled up. Focusing her gaze on them she held her lightsabre in one hand and thrust out her metal hand, focusing the Force energy into a telekinetic wave and then hurling it at the hostiles. The wave rushed towards them, enveloping them into a whirlwind and tossed them off the roof to their painful death. One of them managed to fire his missile and it streaked through the air, but the gunship swerved higher into the air and the missile weaved across and exploded against the wall of a decrepit building in a fireball.

From the sky their bombers came down, unloading their payload on the defensive turrets the warlord's forces had erected. One gunship was struck by a missile and went down, though the pilot tried to control the descent and a few mercenaries jumped down onto the roof of a building, coming under fire from militia rushing up the stairs. They were getting closer to the outskirts of the city and Siobhan pointed to it. "Get us down there!" she moved her blade in an aggressive flurry to block and reflect shots being fired at them. A few dead soldiers lay in the area, along with the burnt-out husk of a defence turret.

The gunship swooped down to touch the ground. Even before it had landed Siobhan had drawn on the Force as it started its rapid descent and jumped, using telekinesis to control her fall. Militiamen rushing to engage them were mowed down by heavy blaster fire coming from the gunship, Siobhan surged into action once her feet hit the ground, flying into a merciless flurry. Each spin was tight, each swipe precise as if the blade were an extension of her body rather than just a tool. Within seconds the rest of the merc team had joined her on the ground and they cut their way through the soldiers engaging.

A sniper took up position behind a tree and took aim at Siobhan with a long-ranged projectile rifle, who was hewing her way through opponents and oblivious. He took aim at her skull. then suddenly there was a loud explosion and he was hurled through the air to a fiery and painful death, tree branches came falling down. He landed on another trooper, who caught fire and screamed in agony. "Watch we're you're going, Jedi!" the merc called out happily, holding the launcher.

"Nice." Siobhan spun and threw her lightsabre, slashing off the head of a militiaman coming in from the flank with a blaster rifle at the merc. Up ahead more defenders were firing, hiding behind the windows and walls as cover, though most of the buildings were primitively constructed and the continuous fire from the gunships took their toll on them.

The merc force relentlessly pressed on, storming forward across the wreckage whilst their air support provided them cover, taking up position in what apparently behind some fallen obelisks. "Cover me," Siobhan called out and thereupon the air was filled by a furious hail of laserfire and grenades that were lobbed against the hostiles charging them. The human wave assaults reminded Siobhan a bit of Cixi. Countless poorly equipped militia were being thrown against them, some wielded little more than sluggers and explosive belts.

"Watch out for the crazies!" the merc blew a suicide bomber to pieces with his grenade launcher, incidentally wiping out a few unfortunate comrades of the bomber. An enemy soldier came in close and he just grabbed him by the neck, crushing his throat and then tossing him into the fray. Siobhan surged forward, using the Force to amplify her speed as bolts and bullets shot past her before hitting the dirt when she was close enough. She slashed at a trooper storming towards, swiping off his left leg and then slamming her boot into his face as he screamed in pain. She focused intently on what looked like the fallen statue of an old king. Sweat dripped down her forehead, blaster bolts whizzed and streaked over her head, but then slowly it started to rise and she sent it spiralling towards a horde of enemies coming in from their flank, willing it to pretty much race towards them at great speed. Many managed to dodge the improvised missile, but the remainder were impaled on it when the statue rammed into them like a battering ram. Their screams were added to the perverse chorus of death and pain.

Retrieving her lightsabre, Siobhan linked up with the other mercs, charging into battle.
