Red and the Horned Beauty (Cross Ikon)

Rikki let out a little squeal when Cross got her. She laughed. "What shall it be, then? Waltz, or Tango?" She added a little growl to the end for emphasis.

"I think I'll tango. And we'll ditch the crappy elevator music..."

Rikki gave me an odd look.

"Don't look at me like that... Elevator music was a thing during the Clone Wars."

"Well, yeah. But how do we dance if we have nothing to dance to?" Rikki asked him. It would be a little hard to keep in time to something that wasn't there.

"Nothing to dance to?"

I hit the keypad on the wall of the elevator. A fast, cheery little tango number came up.

"Solved, I'd say. Let's dance, my fair lady."

(or is it rumba that's supposed to be fast? I can never remember...)

Their feet bagan moving swiftly, back and forth and side-to-side. Rikki had never danced quite like this before. She was doing her best to keep up with Cross and the music. She nearly tripped a couple of times, but kept trying nevertheless.

"You're pretty good, for somebody who supposedly can't dance."

I grinned at Rikki as the elevator ascended towards my quarters on the top floor. We kept dancing, sort of wobbling whenever one of us missed a step.

"Definitely better than me."

Just as he said this, Rikki accidentally stomped on his foot. "Yes. Sooo much better than you..." She said, rolling her eyes and smiling.

"A little stomping won't stop me, babe. But maybe we should switch to something a little bit better suited to the two of us."

As I said this, the track switched to a much slower, calmer waltz.

"Plus, this way, we have to dance closer together, eh?"

Rikki moved into Cross, as close as their bodies could become. She allowed her movements to match his, making them act as one being instead of two.

"No matter what I said before, I definitely prefer this to dancing apart. You don't step on me as much."

I grinned and kissed the top of Rikki's head.

"Dancing is a lot more fun than most people think. Especially when the right partner's around."

Rikki kissed the tip of Cross's nose. "Then we should dance more often," She whispered back. She brought his lips to hers.

"Probably."

I leaned down a bit to kiss Rikki some more, and swept her around to the center of the turbolift.

"But it's possible that we should dance before drinking, and not after."

She laughed. "There's crazy thing #2! A dance every morning. As soon as we wake up." She twirled slowly and gracefully with him, getting up on her toes and holding him ever closer.

"What was crazy thing number one? I wasn't keeping count, so far."

I pushed my feet under Rikki's so she didn't have to keep standing on her toes, and I grinned down at her.

"Might as well make it easier for you, if you're gonna keep reaching for my face like that, Rikki."

"Not my fault you're so tall, and flexible, and muscular, and charismatic....." Her voice trailed off as she looked into his eyes.

"Number one was about your beautiful locks, and how I will groom them."

"Aw... Don't do that... my hair's supposed to be a mess."

I stared into Rikki's face.

"It's not my fault you're that beautiful, or that you glow like you do. It's just what's supposed to happen."

"Careful there, Admiral Ikon. I might just blush," Rikki purred. The elevator finally came to a stop. She looked at the door. "We're here. I wonder, is this the first time you've ever brought a girl to your room?" She asked with a playful smirk.

"This room, yes. Rooms in general, no. I mean... It was Zeltros. And Hapes is a matriarchal society. You get political favors and stuff."

I stuck my tongue out at Rikki.

"Do you know how horrible it was to have to sleep with somebody just to get the freaking government to give my command back? The Vice Commissioner was built like a Hutt."

Rikki walked around the room a bit. It was a nice size, and had expensive furniture and unique things of which she'd never seen before. She sat down on the bed, feeling the softness of the covers. "It's a lovely room. I'm guessing all of those little items you have are from your previous escapades?" She asked Cross.

"Yeah. The dead animal bits are actually dead animal bits. And the furniture is mostly custom-made, though I bet Ogen could replicate it if he wanted to."

I looked around the room, trying to find my favorite item of all. I found it, and grinned wider than ever.

"My favorite toy of all. The Cross Wing."

It was a glider, folded up of course, and if I was to unfold it, it would go from a shield-like shape to its full size of fifteen feet across.
