Remember Me for Centuries[Development Thread]

((5 Paragraphs and 3 hours gone because the site is fucked up))

Not retelling the same story in an inferior manner for the third time due to unforeseen circumstances by a writer inexplicitly controlling the tale of this young woman, who had the misfortune to suffer two bizarre and maddenly losses of work over some issue regarding a particular forum's inability to accept a single post, the Rendili woman Camellia did not quite share the same concerns or worries as her counterpart from the Silver Jedi Order because of her own excitement. In fact she didn't notice Ayumi's nervousness at all and only took note of the other woman's concern once she spoke up about the test actually being a success, her own attention caught too much on how close they might be to completion with a successful test.

Still, Ayumi had a point about not getting too excited just yet. Camellia had primarily invited her friend over due to her colleague's work on reactor systems so often. She wanted the other's opinion on the power plant's ability to run an Interdictor field and the weapons effectively, since that was often a concern. They might bump the reactor up to a Proton-8 or something as powerful to keep things working. They might end up with a smaller space in the crew compartments though.

"Well? What are the results?" Directing her question to the huddle of technicians pouring over the data coming in over the transfer link now that the datapad they had put in the middle of the EMP was hooked up, Camellia watched as the head engineer motioned for a moment as they glanced at information coming in over her screen before standing up and walking over to the pair with a handheld datapad for them to view. "Everything has come in clean maam. The statistics show an electronic pulse hitting the ship in any way will probably flicker a few lights at most if its strong enough but we aren't losing data or suffering any major setbacks."

She was looking at the test and the results, Camellia's technicians were skilled and getting the good results they would want could take time. She had a small look on her face while hearing the results and moving her attention back towards the ships and its systems. A few flickering lights can be dangerous in some places. She was looking to the technicians and Camellia as she moved forward and spoke. "That can still be dangerous, something is getting through the shielding and it could become progressively worse or make some new problems down the line." She was looking over the idea in her mind though and had a smile appearing on her face while she looked towards the Rendili woman tilting her head and narrowing her gaze.

Camellia definitely had to agree with Ayumi when the other woman spoke about how there could be a potential problem with something leaking through the shield even if projections said it might only be a light. The technician paled though at what the response they received and seemed to double take quickly. "I'm sorry maams. I just meant as a worst case scenario, we haven't lost any data so I'm not sure if there will even be any damage. . . .but we can run some tests to make sure!" That was much better, the Rendili woman expected that if there was a mistake, though she was sorry the employee seemed so scared. Then again when you're so excited and suddenly are being told you might be giving your boss bad news. . . .

Well either way Camellia tried her best not to laugh as she returned Ayumi's smile and motioned to the door as she spoke to both the EMP shielding's head tech and her friend. "Its alright. Your team may run more tests to make sure about those projections and correct them for another display for us. In the meantime, Ayumi how about we head down to the hanger and get aboard the shuttle? We can move onto the test for the HIMS and Gravity Well projector tests. That should give plenty of time to run the numbers here and we can see how the rest of the prototype's components are moving along."

Ayumi looked at the man and moved over to him for a moment as he was speaking and she was looking over his shoulder as she spoke just tapping. "It is alright but look at the long term effects. Wear and tear can be like water, slowly wearing down and destroying it. We will just need to keep working on the shielding and you'll get it." She offered the smile and was looking at Camellia as she gave a nod of her head to the woman, thoughts going through her head while going towards the lift and flicking her eyes around. "We could do that or better idea you come over here while we head down and wrap your arms around me cause I missed you and was worried." Her arms opened up a little while she stood there in the lift while waiting to head to the shuttle and continue the test.

Camellia only chuckled a little as Ayumi addressed the researcher, it almost sounded patronizing like she was talking to a kid. Not in a mean or rude way, the other woman wasn't the type in Camellia's opinion, plus it didn't sound that way, but the word choice was too similar to a teacher talking down to the child in their care. It was merely a bit funny since it was likely awkward or embarrassing for the technician to be instructed so. Nonetheless they nodded and the Rendili woman followed her companion, slightly shaking her head despite agreeing with Ayumi's points. They did need to ensure in the long run there were no problems, and the technician could have worked harder on their predictions. Hopefully by the time they finished touring the prototype ship and testing the gravity well projector and HIMS unit they would have absolute results from the EMP Shielding team.

Stepping into the elevator, Camellia let her thoughts drift to what could be done with the ship though really. In the end she wasn't sure, but she didn't have long to dwell as Ayumi said she missed her and surprised her a little. She hadn't known her friend was worried for her, but then she hadn't been in touch with much of anything lately, and she felt somewhat bad about that as she approached the other woman and wrapped her arms around her in a hug as requested. "Sure thing Ayumi. Sorry I worried, I suppose I should have tried staying in touch more. . . . .thanks for making your way out here, it was good to see you too."

The ding of the lift reaching the level with the docking bays made the Rendili woman wonder if she needed to spare a minute more with her friend before moving on if Ayumi had anything more to say. She certainly didn't mind and rather was happy to have a moment with her friend herself.

Ayumi melted a little, her embrace remaining as she was finally.... well with someone who at the least appreciated her. She remained there in the lift for a few more moments as it dinged and she was just breathing in the relaxation. "This was more then worth it." She looked at the exit of the lift and straightened her uniform while she was walking and crossed her arms over her chest while she was walking and moving towards the prototype ship that was going to be quite a sight to see as she walked. "Alright now that that is taken care of let us see the ship." She held a smile on her face while she was looking towards the future.

[member="Ayumi Pallopides"]

Smiling at her friend as the other woman said that the short embrace was more than enough, Camellia stepped out of the lift to head to the hanger where their shuttled awaited them. Technically the prototype was in a berth so they could just walker right to it and enter through a docking tube, but then Ayumi wouldn't get a good view of the ship from the outside. Taking a shuttle out of the nearest dock so they could land in the Centurion's hanger bay and get a good view seemed more. . . .intriguing and appropriate. "I'm glad it was then. I certainly don't mind holding you close, you're a good friend and I've enjoyed the work we've done together. Ah, I never actually asked how the starfighters we designed are doing or if the Order is putting the Inexpugnable to good use."

In the shuttle bay a Conveyor class was waiting for them and ready to go, pointing it out to the other woman as they moved onward. "Once we finish with this project I would love your take on its usefulness and purpose compared to what we've done so far. I apologize if a roundabout approach to getting aboard annoyed you, just figured we could give you a view of the exterior before getting started on the test."

Ayumi looked at her and wondered how much to reveal but a secret ship that was built by the person isn't exactly a secret as she spoke... "Ehhhh it is preforming well but lesser ones try to use it like it is a warship made to take systems at the front of a massive fleet. The fighters though in the hands of some of those pilots are amazing. They will and do preform the best." She had some pride to that though while she was standing there and looking heading towards the ship to observe and see what they had to work with as she spoke. "I know that most will be opposed to help but only one or two actually know what they are doing when it come sto suggestions for ships over there. I miss equals to talk with and plan over pettiness."

[member="Ayumi Pallopides"]

Oh no. . . . .

The Rendili woman did her best not to break out shouting, not at her friend but at the ridiculousness of what she was hearing, over the Silver Jedi's use of the Will of the Force. The Grandmaster of that order had seemed like a much more reasonable and understanding person, and she would have thought their military side would know about the value of the asset they had on their hands. It was perhaps the greatest command vessel in recent memory, it was meant to coordinate an entire system's defense from afar, not take the battlefield by storm, it was to be their mobile home, stealthed and hidden quite well to keep itself out of the line of fire. . . . .and some idiots were giving away its existence and using it like a common destroyer!?

She hoped Ayumi wouldn't mind if she said she wanted a pick by pick contract where she'd approve who would get any new ships from her from now on to make sure they were properly used. Climbing aboard the shuttle with a sigh though, at least Camellia could console herself that the other woman was informing her that the advanced starfighters they had developed were in good hands and getting good results. "That's nice at least. I'm glad one design is being used correctly and they're happy with it. I always did feel a bit bad about how poorly it handled atmospheric slight though, a poor overture on my part. If I ever make a new fighter I'll remind myself to offer a portion of the line to the SJO as apology. Plus its been a while since I had a contract with them and they were once great business partners."

"Well that is the hop in the end. It is why working on ships like this has me usually only working with a few people and since Rendili fell the jedi have been derping around. Not really doing much to help except... just being frustrated." She raised an eyebrow looking at Cam while she gave a shrug. "I wouldn't worry about it, a new ship would be nice and there are plans for some nice things but not pushing hard. The silver jedi council only use what they believe is important. New deals with companies like Firemane and the Republic. Me I much prefer being a little difficult and get some of the more unique ships. With this one and possibly another design that could be coming. I know some of the jedi have been wanting a stronger exploration vessel."

[member="Ayumi Pallopides"]

Well Camellia couldn't really disagree with that logic, especially since the Rendili woman certainly agreed with Ayumi in those regards. The Jedi definitely seemed to be idling by while the galaxy fell into deeper turmoil lately and the major governments weren't holding onto their territory or authority very well either. Evidenced by the fact much of the Core had fallen to encroachment by the Sith, and by the fact no major retaliation had been launched by the Republic yet, or anyone else for that matter. It left Camellia sighing, though she decided not to linger on such thoughts long as she listened to her companion bring up the project of the Centurion and the mysterious vessel she had brought up before.

Instead as she continued speaking with her friend the Rendili woman brought the shuttle to life and began to guide it out the hanger, steering toward an enclosed docking berth close to where they had departed which would open for them to reveal the Centurion line's new prototype waiting for them to come aboard, Camellia making sure to give Ayumi a good view of it on their approach, the gravity well generator's bubble sticking out on the bottom of the hull towards the rear compartments, and its lights coming to life in a eye stunning show. "I remember the work for the Spearhead to start military expeditions deeper into the Unknown regions. Wasn't all too fancy, but it was viable. War with the Sith put all such projects on indefinite cancellation for the Republic, makes me sad considering how adventurous the prospect had seemed back then. I hope your design sees more use and I'm more than willing to hope you on it."

Ayumi was looking at her and had to nod her head. She had been with the Republic when they first fought the sith empire. It falling away under the combined assault of the Republic, Mandalorians and Fel Imperium until their worlds were gone. Then a vacuum as the Republic had been led by her into the old territory. She had worked hard and then when she saw the new administration seeking to charge anyone freely as collaborators she had questioned it and been pushed out. Now she was looking at the woman in the shuttle and she had dealt with the same in a way where exploration and discovery in favor of whatever it was they were doing. She had again found herself at the uncool kids table begging for scraps as she ran off with a few things in her mind for the ship. "The hope is to get more interested in the future over their petty differences and meaningless grudges. Though given the climate I doubt that will happen. At least I have you one of the few who will gladly put up with me and my plans."

[member="Ayumi Pallopides"]

"Well you put up with mine so its only fair." The Rendili woman tried to give her friend a reassuring smile considering she knew how stressful and sad it could be to have a project derailed or cancelled outright for the political moves of others, or even just because of unfortunate climate. Hopefully their newest endeavors would fair much better, at least considering the amount of effort was being put into them, Camellia would certainly hope so. Either way they had to continue on, a voice coming in over the communication panel they were cleared to dock in the hanger bay, the shuttle making its way to the Centurion prototype's hold as they ended their tour of the outside view. "When we get aboard where would you like to begin? We don't have to visit the generator itself really, but if you want to look at it and the HIMS unit before going to the bridge and conducting the test we can. Its not necessary I believe though for us to determine its effectiveness. After all, we'll need to be on the bridge to watch the effects firsthand."

Ayumi looked at her and stood there just taking in her while she smiled weakly. "I put up with your plans because I know they are good compared to some who ask for things and only want to complain about it.... Also because I do enjoy using you purely for your body." That got her to raise her eyebrows in amusement and enjoyment as she spoke more on where they should start. "The captains quarters." She looked at the woman and held up her hands as she spoke. "Now hear me out, you can't be expecting your warships and ships of a fleet to be used to the best of their abilities when the crew is laying on a flat surface with barely any support. If the crew is unhappy then your performance will suffer." She nodded her head to that.

[member="Ayumi Pallopides"]

Well the first out there statement got the Rendili woman to pause. DId AYumi really just say she wanted to use her for her body? The way her friend raised her eyebrows, Camellia wasn't sure what they even was supposed to mean, or if it was merely said to fluster her like it was somewhat. "Is there pictures of me somewhere or my DNA in use in some lab I don't know about Ayumi?" Laughing as freely as she could under the circumstances, it became more genuine given her companion's second comment. Which was thankfully something much more in tune that Camellia could remember. "Hey now, I thought we went around with all the fancy decorating on the Will of the Force. You keep it up I'll insist you should change fields to the fashion industry, but alright we'll look at the Captain's Quarters. Its about standard for a warship, though I suppose we were more lenient on the Centurion here and the Noblesse than we were back in our designing of the Dreadnought and Hammerhead class."

Guiding her friend out the hanger bay, the Rendili woman was quick to show the shortest path towards the lift to the officer's deck.

"Now why would I wase time with a secret lab making clones of you to service my every desire when I can have the real thing?" She said it while walking and thinking about the much attention to detail and comfort they put onto the Will of the Force. Lots of man hours and hard work for something that wasn't even going to be used or appreciated when she was in the lift looking at the woman. "There is plenty of reasons to make sure you people are in comfort and you my dear.... need to relax. Take a step back and calm your mind instead of being stressed. The ship will be great, it will function and do everything if you rush it we'll be stuck with an expensive paperweight." Ayumi was looking at her in the lift and slammed a hand on the lift while she moved closer speaking and pulling Cam in closer. "Besides why would I need your DNA when I can have the real thing right here."

[member="Ayumi Pallopides"]

THis time for sure Camellia knew that Ayumi wasn't being playful or joking with the things she was saying now, and that understanding showed on her face as it flushed a very vibrant red. Which only became redder when her companion slammed the turbolift to a halt and moved in closer to her. To be truthful the other things the other woman had to say were rather normal between them. The Rendili woman after all very frequently buried herself in work, trying to create the very best tools for galactic powers to use. Designing new warships also excited her, building the most effective and powerful starships in its own way was rewarding, though admittedly Camellia knew she needed a break.

And it seemed like Ayumi was going to force her to take one whether she wanted to or not. "Because you never seem to do anything with the real thing whenever I am right in front of you. . . . . .and if you want me to slow down and take a break you'll have to make me I guess if I'm not paying attention." Honestly trying to roll with the situation as best she could, Camellia felt both nervous and excited at the same time, and was mostly hoping the crew didn't get impatient considering nearly everything she did was work usually as the other woman had pointed out.

Ayumi looked at her and moved in. "Well I am going to do something to you now." Her hand moved from the lift wall to the woman's back while she pressed her into a kiss. Letting herself melt against her for the few moments as her mind raced through all the ways she could make it up to the woman. Slowly Ayumi pulled her head back and nipped at Camellia's lower lip a little holding between her teeth and lips a small tongue piercing that was colored to match her emotions. "I think I am going to have to take the time to bring myself back here again and again and I'll make you take a break." There was a grin appearing on her face while she ran her gloved fingers though that light chocolate brown hair while she held her just enough to kiss roughly along her neck. Ayumi stood there with a grin on her face that tugged at her lips."

A fade to black later, and quite the romp of fun while the turbolift was in lockdown, Camellia and Ayumi would be back on track on the tour, with the dark haired woman starting up the lift once more as Camellia finished putting her uniform back on and made sure her hat was sitting back on her head properly. They had certainly gotten sidetracked, and the break was the most amazing the Rendili woman had had, but it was time to get things moving along with everything done, though the cleaning staff would be upset later likely. "All set to go then mischief maker? Are we still heading to the Captain's Quarters or to the bridge we go?"

Ayumi slid her hands along the bodysuit as she finished securing it in place with a small grin on her face. Her hair was wild while in the lift and she was putting it back in a ponytail tightly. Her eyebrows raised as she finished and looked at her. "Oh I still want to see the captain's quarters if only to make sure it will be fitting and able to handle things. The bridge will come next." She held a smile on her face while walking and listening to the lack of any alerts or blaring klaxons alerting to the turbolift stopping. "We'll handle things as they come." She continued to walk towards the quarters while looking over the rest of the ship. It was a marvel and good place after all.
