Duel Renegade

Koto Demascón of House Marr Koto Demascón of House Marr

This is perfect! Cried his darker side, as Kallous, his blade not having been rechambered for a strike, but instead braced in place for a thrust. Kill him! Kill him now!

Let it go Kallous.
Said his other half, annoying and persistent. Defeat him and let it go. Disarm him. Take his weapon and leave. You don’t need to kill anyone anymore.

He growled in frustration, his thrust transitioning into a punch, the hilt of his saber forcefully striking at the underside of Koto’s jaw, meant to concuss him and make him easier to subdue. Once again Kallous was unable to refuse this new side of him that told him to show mercy.

If he could concuss his opponent, even if the fight continued it would from there be significantly easier to overpower and subdue him so he wouldn’t pose a threat any longer.

Koto couldn't quite block in time, but he did manage to, slightly, move with the hit. His head still felt the impact as it jostled him back again. However, while dizzied, his thoughts and his most important sense, that of the force, was still perfectly clear. Koto's mind had become too disconnected from the state of his body for it to be largely susceptible to such methods.

Even so, he'd still taken an impact. Koto knew his equilibrium could be somewhat out of whack from that, so he tried to give it a second to adjust by swinging the blade. While an impact would be nice, he was mostly just sending a flurry of horizontally oriented fire into his attacker to try and keep him back while Koto backpedeled.

Kallous Kallous

His fire wouldn’t be useful a second time, Kallous knew he would try to make distance, and backpedaling while off balance was perfect for him. The fire would fly directly over Kallous’ head as he spun low and swept his leg with force against Koto’s feet, hoping to knock him on his back where he could put his blade against his chest and force a surrender

Ordinarily leg sweeps weren’t feasible. Against a properly grounded opponent they were borderline suicidal, for one it was hard to pull off in the first place. For two it required substantial force to actually knock the target over, which if it didn’t would at best shift their footing a little, and at worst accomplish nothing but put yourself in an incredibly vulnerable position that was in itself not very stable, and impossible to defend with.

But this opponent was not properly grounded, and so this was far more likely to succeed. It put him under his opponent’s flurry of fiery slashes, and out of harms way. And if it worked he could effectively end the fight here and now with no harm done to anyone.

Kark. Koto thought as Kallous Kallous ducked underneath sweeping his legs out beneath him. This time, he wasn't fast enough to recover in time before the sith was on him. The Korun hesitated now, his instincts warning him of the risk of continuing now that he was put on the ground with a saber too him. Yet, despite his position, his satisfaction at the battle flowed off of him. Though, at the possibility of the battle ending without one of them dying, it wavered a bit. He considered pushing for it, to either take the battle back, or to force the sith to kill him. But such a predictable death would be without so much meaning.

So he stopped, watching, listening the force if he was going to make another attack from his position. Or if he was offering surrender.

“I know why you’re here Sith.” He said calmly, “abandon your mission and leave with your life. I would rather not spill any blood today.”

A simple offer, stand up and leave. Of course Kallous hardly trusted the man to take the offer, but he’d proven his superiority, and that might be enough to scare him into leaving for now.

If not… then he might have to resort to something more drastic to end this. He didn’t know why he’d become so weak, why he didn’t kill anymore. He used to enjoy it! But he had been changed, by what he didn’t know. And that part of him no longer permitted him to slay someone who could be spared.

Koto's face did not truly betray anything. However he did not hide his feelings in the force, they exuded from him freely. There was a disappointment, and a relief, simultaneously. Koto understood, if he did continue right now, he'd probably lose. And a part of him really wanted to try anyway. But he did have enough self control to understand that would simply be cutting everything short.

Eventually, his aura exuded acceptance. And he nodded. Letting go of his sword. And waiting to be let up to leave.

Kallous Kallous

Kallous stepped back, his saber did not deactivate but he stood a short distance away from Koto to allow him to get up and walk away. He didn’t fully trust this Sith to honor his word, and he was more than ready to reengage in battle with him. But he gave him the chance to leave if he chose to do so.

Kallous watched his foe carefully. Waiting to see his next move.

Koto pushed himself back, then slowly to his feet. Tilting his head curiously at the man. Briefly, he was tempted to try again anyway, or come back with his ship. But such considerations were not hidden in the force, and as a result, he reconsidered and let them go. It wouldn't help any to have Kallous Kallous ready for him. He'd find some other viciousness to get involved in.

The man began to back out of the situation, so he could head to his ship and leave. He'd offer an explanation of what happened. He rather hoped the man would die, naturally. He may have, in a sense, gotten partly what he wanted. And he may have survived. But he lost the fight to someone who didn't even try and kill him. And he didn't like that.

Kallous Kallous

Kallous watched the man go, and sighed. This wasn’t good. He could tell that the man wanted more, to try again, stab him in the back while he wasn’t looking. Something to come out on top in this fight. But he discarded them. Though for how long he wasn’t sure.

How had he found him so quickly? There had to be some kind of reason! He would need to check his ship for a beacon before he took off again, and that would take precious time. Hopefully no more surprises would be forthcoming while he did so. He didn’t want another confrontation. Not while he was so off-balance. This pesky side of him that pushed for mercy and temperance was not going away, and he needed to somehow come to terms with it and reach an acceptable stance in the force before he had any major encounters.

Lest he find himself losing to a Sith, who would be less merciful than he.

Koto would be off world quickly enough. Though likewise, he'd send an explanation to the family. What they'd do with that was up to them. He'd be off to find some other target to fight, maybe one more willing to spill blood. He wasn't sure he was happy about that part of the result or not yet. Losing was one thing, but losing to someone refusing to partake in the truth of violence seemed another.

Ah well. So far as he knew, the tracker was still in place. And there was at least his last presence being confirmation that it was working so far.

Kallous Kallous

Kallous watched the man go. And once the ship was out of orbit he made his way over to his own ship. Hoping that the fire hadn’t damaged it too badly. He was no mechanic but just about everyone knew a little bit about keeping starships working, it was an essential skill to have. So when he came to inspect his stolen ship he cursed.

“HEKK!” He shouted angrily, the fire had done more damage than he’d thought it would. The engine had a few lines burst and needed some repairs done before it would be operational again, and he had a few breaches in the hull caused by the warping of the metal under heat to patch up before he could leave the atmosphere.

For a brief moment he allowed himself to regret sparing the man’s life. But then, again, that pesky part of him chided him for such regret. There was nothing to be ashamed of for sparing someone their life. It was a noble thing to do.

Since when did he care about noble?

Ever since he betrayed and destroyed his Master it would seem. So with a sigh he got to work fixing his ship. Unaware but suspicious that there was another person coming to hunt him.

Elise let out a long groan as she stood in the gunship, members of the Marr Household Guard within it with her. She looked thoroughly done with the situation. One of the new ones that her brother had brought in, somewhat indirectly. Some lunatic from what she did understand of him. Had gone and gotten into a fight with a rogue sith, surprisingly, despite losing the fight, he was left alive. And intact. Fully.

Yet, since he had revealed the targets location, and that he had lost to them, there was some level of obligation to do something about it. Even if it didn't obligate major action, even the attempt may suffice. Koto was hardly of any note politically, so while some obligation existed, it was minor. And personally, she barely considered him family at all.

The ship had stayed exactly where it was, luckily for them. Elise did not feel like being subtle. She put on her armor, the berserkers hinderance. One red lightsaber at one hip, and her war lightsaber at the other. "Stay near enough to hear screaming, or if my signal cuts in or out." she said, probably unnecessarily. When forced to actually fight, it was generally best that allies were not very near by. Then, as they neared the target, she hopped out, using the force to slow her descent, and then using the tree limbs to further aid in that before landing reasonably gentle, aside from the scattered burnt leaves or wood. In a dull voice as if she was reciting something for the dozenth time, "Greetings, I am Sith Knight Elise of House Marr, you fought a cousin of mine, now you get to fight me." Draika Iv misina flew to her hand, though still deactivated, and she began approaching the rogue sith. She hadn't gone all in yet, only providing her usual enhancements to all physical abilities, including her senses. Though beneath the helmet that did have it's limitations.
