Requesting Addendum To 'Production' in both Technology and Starships.

Production: (The scale is Unique (Only One Character), Semi-Unique (Only A Handful of Characters), Limited (Only A Select Group Of NPCs/PCs), Minor (Any Character, Only Select Groups Of NPCs), Mass-Produced.(Anyone.))

I wish to be more specific on what Unique, Semi-Unique, Limited, Minor, and Mass Produced actually are.

What are your thoughts?

Think we should add a caveat that Semi Unique go through the marketplace for purchase? You can't be assumed to just have it since it is... you know semi unique.

Since I know it'll get asked, what if you want to have NPC's use armor but don't want to give it to that many PCs?

Like, say, armor for a personal guard or something?

Very true. I do the same thing.

"Proof of Purchase" would be night or maybe add a "consent of creator" to that.

That's not too shabby. For my camo cloak, I added an addendum that anyone who wished to use it need do training with my character, that way not anyone could just pick it up and go 'lolinvisible'

I like it. Would there be any room to add in Permissions? Example if someone wanted to keep something that was Limited from being abused and wanted to see who was controlling what? Or would that just be about specifying?

Only problem with adding that is then you'd likely have to keep track of who had permission to use it, which could become tedious given enough time.

It's implied that you'd have to ask to use anything above Unique, but there's no easy way I can think of at the moment that would allow us to keep track of that sort of thing - especially with just how many subs there are floating around.

I say it's up to the creator of the submission to regulate the use of his own stuff, and to report it when it's being used by someone without permission. I think Sarge will agree with me that we love those kind of reports. A submission owner saying "this dude doesn't have permission to use something I created" is SUPER easy to handle, because if the creator doesn't want them having it, it's pretty much open and shut case, Johnson.

I really don't think this is a widespread issue, if an issue at all, and don't wish to point our rules at fixing something that doesn't exist.

However, I see no problem with a "Characters Who Can Use This:" at the bottom of each template as optional, and can be updated via Submission Modification.

That's likely best case scenario.

And those reports are the best. Someone once mentioned to me, Jon I believe, that someone was trying to use my camo cloak for another submission and I just went 'no', and so when judging that submission they knew to throw that right out the window.

I like this, and I like the amendment to add an optional "Who can use this:" field.

However, Unique should potentially be changed to "Character named in 'who can use this:' field"

Someone from a company might sub a unique item for another character.
