Mercury Zealot
Monstrocity of Moross - Deceased
Objective B: CRUSH THE INFIDELS MORE THOROUGHLY! (Vulpesen, Carliah Dakrone, @Others)
5/20
The funny thing about gods, they weren't subtle, they were anything but subtle. The reason being, is that if they were subtle, how could their adoring masses be impressed by their efforts to demonstrate power? The Resu were well aware that there were other force sensitives in the galaxy, that held powers similar to their gods, but ultimately inferior. In fact, the current demonstration of "power" exhibited by Vulpesen to jostle a cage was so minute that the thermal vision of the Resu hardly picked up on it at all. It was not anything like changing an entire race, or controlling the weather of an entire world, or generating a thunderbolt that etched across the sky in glorious brilliance. These were the marks of power that demonstrated that those who owned these feats were above mere mortals, and had some essence within them that defined divinity.
The divine were not simply demonstrated through power, as gods the Aesirs have at their disposal more than the simple desires of mortal men to obtain strength, and instead use their unique resources to accomplish greater feats that supported the chosen people of the galaxy. Simply being attuned to the force, was not nearly enough to impress the people of Moross, and certainly not its most prestigious Zealots.
Then the heathen suggested that he'd offer a "new age of protection", to give them purpose beyond "blind worship". That struck a chord in every Resu within hearing distance. The Resu did not need protection, and their worship was anything but blind. A single man had evolved an entire race into a new state of enviable power, that made them the night terrors of their enemies. If it was not clear enough that they owed their providence to him, then what more would this infidel suggest he do to prove that he is worthy of their worship?
It was time then, to prove that the Messenger of the Gods, the First Convert, would prevail over this fool. After all, he was fighting now on his terms. They were both on the surface of Shikyu, an ice surface completely devoid of atmosphere, and the gravity was one third standard. It was obvious that any invader that came here would need an environment suit, which was a critical weakness for them. The Resu were enormously strong, capable of lifting more than half a metric ton, with skin as tough as reinforced Durasteel, and ever sharp edge of their body (from their claws, teeth, tusks, or back spines) had the capability of infecting a person with the Technovirus. Additionally, they had an affinity for producing straight electrical energy that was usually lethal when used in combat.
They had one achilles heel however, in that their hydrogen tanks on their back if puncture was near instantly lethal. An over abundance of electricity also beyond the normal amount they are used to arcing at targets, had the potential to slow them down. Otherwise, the creatures were incredible strong, fast, and generally one of the most dangerous and aggressive sentient species alive.
With sparking electricity surrounding his body, Stone Hermes unleashed a digital roar from his voice box that was most unpleasant to hear, as he lifted his blade for combat. The other six Resu merely exited their shuttle from behind him as their leader charged across the ice field in a giant leap that crossed an incredible distance due to the decreased gravity and his impressive strength. The blade would come down directly over the head of Vulpesen, and upon contact that monster would continue his charge through the man. The objective was to tear apart his environmental suit, thus exposing him to the harshness of space.
