"My apologies, i fully understand the purpose of the discussion and how important the understanding is. And this is why i asked this meeting be closed so that the two in question can be brought before a civilized court setting on their charges. We are not judges, only a few of us reside in the Judicial area do we not. Unless i missed the part where we the senate, a law making body, also became the enforcers of those laws." She waited for their responses, this needed a recess, the two in question needed to be put under guard until a proper setting can be pulled together. Because at this moment the only thing that will occur now is more derailment.

Valen scowled as the debate on the bill was interrupted by accusations being flung around. There was a time and a place for such things, but not during a bill about providing aid to a world or organizing a committee to oversee more rebuilding efforts.

"As the sponsor of this bill on debate, and in response to the need for an investigation or trial on the matters brought to light, I ask that this bill and its debate are suspended until such a time other matters are resolved, one or another."

It irked him that this debate would be hijacked in such a way, there were proper channels for such things, not the middle of a session. Context and further evidence was needed and that would be handled by the Judiciary Branch

Danny listened to Senator Rist's reply, and was glad she had set her priorities straighter. However, there was still one more thing to be said, one last point he had to make.
"I agree, Senator Rist, we are not judges. But we do have the right to a vote of no confidence. If we are to exercise such a right, we would need to discuss the matter and the see the evidence ourselves. I'm not saying we have to do it right now, but a meeting of the senate on the matter is vital to sorting out this problem, whether or not the Judiciary Branch is called upon as well. After all, we deserve to have some say in the matter, rather than be left in the dark about it all."
A vote of no confidence was certainly not the way Danny wanted it to go, but he wanted the others to understand that the senate had to have some say in sorting out these accusations. He reached for his glass of water, taking a sip of it as he waited to see what anyone else would say. He dearly hoped this could all be resolved...

"I second the motion of Senator [member="Valen Cerezo"]." Persephone's voice would come through to the speakers, the Hapan woman unamused at the proceedings.

This was one of the reasons she would like for the Hapes Consortium to draw away and bring back the isolationist nature of old.

"This has turned into a zeltron holodrama, my fellow senators." Her fan would give a wicked snap as it would shut.

"We will place this act on hold and adjourn for this new matter at our next session."

It was good to see reason shown by the woman from Alderaan, and the decision forming throughout the Senate. With a small nod of his head, Kralossk subtly animated his approval towards things being handled in a formal manner. He may have hated bureaucracy but it certainly had its place. Still, he wouldn't have minded looking through the evidence himself, call it a primal instinct but he liked to have the empirical evidence there for his own eyes to see, rather than have it regurgitated through several layers of approval. The end result was always so tainted...

"I concur" was all that the metallic Trandoshan said, making a note to request transcripts of any hearings or, Scorekeeper forbid, trials that came from this tangent. Turning his attention from the general populace to the Senator of Alderaan and the individual who had put forth the bill, he inclined his head subtly. "I do hope that your homeworld is tended to soon, Senator, Dosha can render aid in your personal efforts if necessary." It didn't hurt to make a few friends here and there, or at least to be seen as a voice of reason. At any rate, Kralossk waited around a little while longer, just to make sure that nothing went unsaid. It wouldn't do to be behind on such matters, things went so quickly in the Senate at times.

Faith was actually a bit speechless. She crossed and uncrossed her arms. She knew she was emotionally charged and needed to breath. First at hearing they were charging her sister with treason and then the turn around that the Prime Minister was head of what seemed to amount to nothing less than a group of terrorists.

Faith had to send the communication out, and goddess help her she did not know even what to say. She listened as [member="Thalia Rist"] made her plea, and then the other Senators [member="Kralossk"] [member="Persephone Callas"] [member="Danny Colen"] [member="Valen Cerezo"] it was going to be a long night in the Alderaan suite.

Alyesa would step back from her podium and withdraw her evidence from the general assembly. "My apologies Senators - but I cannot allow the Republic to be mired by corruption and deception at its highest authority - especially with the bills and laws that are coming to pass and how much I have put forth at my own personal expense over the years." She placed her hands infront of her. "I submit myself to the mercy of my peers, and to the Senate of the Galactic Republic - for judgement. If this Senate finds that they have enough evidence against me for such a high order such as Treason - then a triumvirate shall be put forth - composed of my peers to judge me." [SIZE=10.5pt][/SIZE]

She would allow the Senate guards to place the binders upon her being before resting her hands down against her person. " I won't fight the system if I am being accused of Treason and need I remind the Senate and the Republic as a whole – Treason in its own right is an extremely high and damaging charge.” She looked at her sister, [member="Faith Balor"] before looking back to the Prime Minister and then the assembly at large. “The Royal House of Organa has served the Republic for thousands of years, without question and I have held my oath of office and sworn duties as appointed representative of Coruscant, Manaan, Alderaan, Carida and now Ranklinge with the highest of honors – the truth will prevail in these matters.” With that, she would allow herself to be escorted from the chambers – but it wouldn’t be long before she found herself in the care of Senator Balor of Alderaan and under house arrest until the formal hearing could be arranged.
