Revanite Ideology

Revanite Ideology (WIP)
Based around the life and legend of its namesake; The Prodigal Knight, the Revanchist, Darth Revan, The Revan, or simply, Revan. Known as Revanism or Revanchism, its followers known as the Revanites believe that the path to power cannot be followed by Jedi or Sith, and that only those who have walked both the Light and the Dark can ascend to become something much more, as Revan did.
Of all of the different ideologies regarding the Force and Religion, the path of a Revanite is perhaps the hardest to follow. Through the Dark Side of the Force, you may grow sick with power, using your emotions to fuel it, but in time you will come to be ruled by your emotions, and your freedom will become nothing more than an illusion by the Dark Side. Through the Light Side of the Force, you will grow sick with wisdom, growing stagnant and ignorant through centuries of refusal to study or interpret the Dark Side as anything more than a perversion of the Force, same as Dark Siders believe Light Siders are nothing but ignorant monks.
Allowing yourself to use your emotions to your advantage, but not letting them make your decisions for you, and using knowledge and wisdom to aide your hand in the choices you make along your path, but not letting that wisdom force your hand is the hardest trial that a Revanite will face in this Galaxy where you will be alone with few in your beliefs.
Another core tenant of the more radical Revanites is the sacrifice of self-identity, as Revan did. Revan knew that even as The Prodigal Knight, he would be nothing but another dead Jedi in a foreign war if he fell in battle. As Revan, as the Revanchist, he was something more; he was a walking idea, the ideals and dreams of the Republic made manifest. Although most Revanites retain their names and identities, his most extreme devotees strip themselves of these, choosing to wear masks that pay homage to Revan, taking on names and honoring him.
