Revelations

Kay-Larr

Sphaera Tea Company Owner
Many things had come to pass since [member="Connor Harrison"] had left Commenor and his Ministerial position to tie up lose ends with the Silver Jedi. Where his journey had taken him, she wasn't certain, but given that she had spotted him at a First Order fundraiser and was promptly ignored, First Order space was where she had decided to look. Of course she didn't want to chance being ignored again, so she reached out to him via the same channel that she had before, when she had invited the man to her home. ~Connor, it's Kay. If you're in First Order space, I'd like to see you. I'll be heading over to Commenor's Embassy in the Capital, Avalonia. We have a few things to catch up on.~

She sent off the message and began to pack. It wasn't exactly a quick journey. Nor did she expect there to be any trouble. No. More than likely the only threat she faced was a rising temper. Arguments seemed to always be the order of the day when Kay and Connor were in discussions. And for this meeting, she had expected no different this time.

Connor had received the message from one Queen Kay of Commenor a little out of the blue. It had taken a couple of days for his return to the capital city and the Commenor embassy, but he made it.

Hearing word that her little empire was growing, it was nice that she at least had maintained control of her subjects after last time they had met. That was good.

It was early morning on Avalonia as Connor took a speeder ride to the embassy and made his way through with quick identification and display of the request by Kay herself. A regal looking embassy with the flag of her people flapping gently above the door, Connor made his way inside. He was soon directed to her private chambers, for a meeting about....who knew what.

Kay had arrived just a day before [member="Connor Harrison"] did. It gave her time to do a bit of touring and to get used to the place. The last time that she was here, she didn't stay long enough to visit the Embassy. But it was beautiful, mixing the architectural styles from both worlds.

She was informed of Connor's arrival as soon as he passed security. So she prepared a tall glass of water for him, as well as tea for herself. She was dressed not in black, but in red this time and refrained from wearing any contacts to hide the little speckles of corruption that remained in her eyes. They were fading by now. Nor did she hide her Force signature from him. He knew her secret already.

Kay smiled a little and bowed her head in greeting as he stepped inside. "Good to see you again. It's been some time. I take it that you had long since changed your mind about coming back? It's okay if you did...I would have just preferred to have been told. So...how are you?" Perhaps part of his reasoning for staying away was due to her not returning his kiss when he snuck one. It wasn't exactly something that she was expecting.

Connor walked into the room, dressed in charcoal grey, sharp tunic and crimson cloak. His crossguard lightsaber was fixed proudly to his side. When he entered, he smiled at the sight that greeted him.

"Your Highness."

He crossed the distance to her. She would see a change in him - his dress for one, and his aura for another.

"Forgive me not returning. I had...shall we say some complications along the way. It certainly wasn't expected. But I am here now, and it is nice to see you. You look lovely."

Reaching for her hand, he took it and gave her small knuckles a kiss.

"I received your message. So. What may I do for you? Oh, and welcome to Avalonia."

He made for the cool water, and had a generous mouthful.

That crossguard was new, as well as his clothing. The cape was the same, however. But was really different about [member="Connor Harrison"] was the way that he carried himself. Just what had he been up to?

She raised a brow, not so much at his welcoming gesture, but more so in what he had said. "Complications? Care to indulge or is it none of my business?"

For the moment she kept the topic away from herself.

"I’m not adverse to talking about it if that’s what you mean. You ask, I will answer."

Connor nodded as he took the glass again and sipped.

"The Jedi showed me their true colours. So I, in turn, showed mine." He set the glass down and looked at her. "What did you wish to see me about."

He felt there was something, and from their last encounter she seemed different, but many factors could affect that so he was eager to know what factors were in play.

Kay picked up her tea ans had a sip while [member="Connor Harrison"] spoke. The Jedi showed their colours, and he showed his....She squinted her eyes as she looked at him, almost as though she was searching for something, but using only her eyes as opposed to tapping into the Force. How much had he changed?

She had another sip of her tea, cradling the cup in her hands instead of putting it down. "I wanted to check up on you, as you haven't kept in tough. And also...I'm expanding my reach. We are taking over our region to protect the nearest planets from aggressors. Major players are circling around us and I'd rather not be caught off guard. I can't count on others helping me in a time of need. I saw that already when the Sith captured me." She referred to her captivity in that way now. No longer was it done by her Master. She had no Master anymore, not since she was sent back home. No one told her what to do. Her alignment had shifted, but she kept that to herself too. It was too dangerous for her to do otherwise.

Connor nodded. It sounded like she had finally taken charge of things herself and not relied on others.

"Well if this is how it makes you look, it’s a good thing. I commend your efforts, and I wish you well in the expansion."

He walked around, placing the glass down and looked out of the main window.

"I should apologies for what it’s worth. I know I offered my help, and…certain things took over. No excuse, but I pulled back from everything in that time, not just you. But thank you for checking on me."

He turned to her.

"You look nice." And then back to the window. "I’m sure you didn’t ask me here just to check on me now, did you."

[member="Connor Harrison"] pulled back from everything. Was that why he ignored her at the ball? At least he was apologizing.

Kay sipped her tea, raising a brow as twice now he had commented her on her looks, all in a short time too. It made her think of that kiss that he stole and she wondered if perhaps that was another reason that he stayed away.

"It was part of the reason, yes. But also I am looking for my adopted daughter. She was last seen on Bakura over 15 years ago. I already found her brother, or rather, he found me. She'd be about 20 now, if she's still alive. Her name was Rae-Anna. Whether or not it's still her name, I don't know. But if you could search any archives or records, I'd appreciate it." She'd ask her Father, but he wanted nothing to do with her.

The name didn’t ring a bell.

"Where are her ties. Allegiances. Adopted family. Anything else to go on?"

He would get to the part about his payment when the job was clear. Not that he was in the habit of doing random jobs for people – he wasn’t a lacky, that’s for sure, but he would at least hear her out.

"I never knew you had an adopted daughter. May I ask why now? Why are you looking for her now, I mean."

Kay shrugged her shoulders a bit and shook her head. But given that his back was towards her, he didn't see. So she had to answer [member="Connor Harrison"] verbally. "I don't know. I'm afraid that I have nothing but her name, age and what she looked like back then. Both her and her brother were taken from me after Shaw was killed for their safety. I've been chastised for not looking for them sooner."

As for why she was looking now? That was a little complicated. She sipped her tea and sat herself down in one of the chairs."Her brother found me. Something that I didn't expect. I was reminded that as a Queen, I need heirs, successors. I can't have any of my own, it's impossible, so what better than to find the children that I once had?"

Connor Harrison

Avalonia didn’t seem too busy today. Strange. Connor looked up into the sky as he listened.

"No offence, Kay, but don’t you want successors of heirs who actually know you, and know how you live and work?"

He turned to her, seeing her with faithful tea.

"This girl doesn’t know you. She wouldn’t be right to take over. You’d have too much time to close. Do you really want that? Is there something you’re not telling me? Last time we spoke, you certainly wouldn’t have ever talked about this."

Kay frowned ever so slightly, repeating the words that Veiere had told her. "She still has a right to know me, just as her brother is doing now. He's the next in line as he's older."

[member="Connor Harrison"] turned to look at her. Of course there were things that she wasn't telling him. There were secrets that she had that she had told no one about, mostly about what had happened during her captivity and what she had done to the Elders.

"The last time we spoke, I didn't think about it. I was trying to get back on my feet and adjust on my own. But I'm not alone anymore. I'm getting married soon. And with growing and expanding my planet's control in the system, it makes me and Commenor a bigger target. I need to be prepared in case the worst happens."

At a certain word, his head turned a little.

"You're getting married? Well, aren't you full of revelations today."

He looked back out of the window, running his tongue along his teeth. Safe to say he hadn't wanted to hear those words.

"So who is the man in question? Funny you never mentioned him before - seeing as it was a few months ago, you certainly move fast."

[member="Lady Kay"]

She figured that [member="Connor Harrison"] would hear about it eventually. Better for it to come from her. But as he had said before, she was something that he couldn't have. This just solidified that.

And it hurt him somewhat. She saw that and could feel it. " His name is Veiere. He was my bodyguard and advisor before I was captured. My memories of him were taken from me during that time, along with the memories of others. Yet because of our Force bond, I was able to get some of them back. Him and I were reluctant in admitting how we felt. It's not as though we've shared a bed yet, or even a room. But he's not after me for power. He'd rather that we retire from public life entirely, yet understands that I can't. He has his Praxeum to teach other Force users and I run Commenor. It'll work out." They won't be around eachother in the day to day, and Veiere will no doubt head off to other worlds to protect the innocent. She couldn't stop him from doing that.

The name was familiar with him, unlike her "child". He nodded slowly.

"I remember him. From my time with the Jedi."

He turned to her, a little wince.

"Sounds like a marriage of convenience than anything else. I mean, I could be wrong, but on those things I usually never am. You've shared nothing, but will now devote your life to this man?"

He turned back to the window and looked out at nothing.

"You have certainly changed a great deal," he muttered.

There was a pause, and his eyes moved to the side slightly.

"So what do I get in return for helping find your missing child?"

[member="Lady Kay"]

"He's devoted to me and loyal. We're bonded, we've shared our memories, our thoughts. He's watched over me, protected me and given me advice. I like being around him. He's helped me and I don't have to worry about betrayal." She didn't like the fact that [member="Connor Harrison"] was trying to question her on her decision. Kay muttered to herself under her breath. "....He's a better choice than some of the playboys out there..." She never thought of Connor as a playboy. He was someone that was devoted only to himself and his own ambition. They were always at odds with eachother and probably always will be. She had accepted that.

Kay sipped her tea, the cup nearly finished. She heard what he had muttered, narrowing her eyes slighty. "And what is that supposed to mean? Of course I changed. I had to! I was losing my mind and only a few would help me. Everyone else left. We all have to do what we need to survive."

Now he wanted some sort of payment option. She gave him a bit of a huff as she collected herself. "What is a fair price to you for helping me?"

Connor Harrison

Guest
He chuckled to himself. She muttered, but he heard her. Playboy indeed. She wished.

"I won't hold my breath for an invite to the reception."

With a quiet clap of the hands, he parted from the window and back into the room with the tea-sipping queen.

"What price. Hmm. Good question. Make your offer and we will see how it stacks."

He rested his hands on the back of a chair and looked at her.

"I haven't even set a date yet...I don't even know who's officiating it or anything of the sort. I haven't had much time to think about it. When it's all sorted, I'll let you know. And it's up to you on whether you come or not."

She half expected him not to. [member="Connor Harrison"] was very unpredictable and that was infuriating at times. She could never see him without having an argument. That was infuriating too.

Of course there was always a chance that the wedding wouldn't proceed. Either one of them could die. Veiere returned from Voss with a scar from a lightsaber across his face and part of his ear was missing. He was so close to dying....By sheer luck he had survived.

The topic was changed back to her daughter. Maybe that was a good thing. Kay looked up at him and shrugged her shoulders a bit. "I don't know what you'd want. Credits? Artifacts? Gemstones? Vacations? Favours?" She was at a loss.

Connor Harrison

He mulled things over for a few moments. A wedding was something he wasn't interested in right about now.

He then pursed his lips and looked at Kay.

"You."
