Revelations

Kay-Larr

Kay's breath was quicker now, as was her heartbeat while [member="Connor Harrison"] was doubled over on the floor. "You're being ridiculous! I could have you arrested! Just let it-"

Her words were cut off as he attacked her again, an iron grip on her throat as he pushed her back against the wall. Her free hand locked onto his wrist that held her throat, her eyes meeting his and picking up on the anger that he had for her. That information about her lost daughter was too valuable for her now.

Speaking of which, he went after her hand again, trying to pry open her small fingers, while his grip on her throat tightened. Breathing became difficult as the pressure increased. Still having her legs free, she brought her leg up to knee him in the groin again.

As he held his grip and pulled at her fingers, he looked in her eyes and saw fear and desperation. It was what he wanted. To be feared. Respected.

Her body shifted for another wild hit to the groin, but now he was ready and in preparation for attack. He arched back as her knee came up, and he twisted his body, groin out of the line of being hit.

"This is my territory. I could kill you now and I would have all the support I asked."

He clawed into her hand, opened it and took the chip in his grasp and yanked it out. Connor held her against the wall and held the chip.

"Now. Calm down, let me do what you asked, and we leave it there and pretend this never happened." He slowly released his grip, but was ready to strike again. "And think about telling husband to be? Think again. If you do, I can't vouch for his safety. Or your daughters."

With that, he let go and stepped back.

She missed! She missed! That shocked her. Kay tried pulling [member="Connor Harrison"] 's hand off of her throat, her eyes once again meeting his while he spoke. Kill her? Surely he fails to grasp what such a thing would do. He would create an intergalactic incident that would bring more war to the First Order, and not just by Commenor's forces, but by her other allies as well. He would be forever hunted and when caught, his life would surely come to an end.

Her need to breath was far stronger than her need to hold onto the chip. As soon as Connor had it, she grabbed onto his arm, now holding it with both hands. He slowly released his grip then, giving her words of warning.

She gasped for breath, coughing. Her eyes narrowing as he tried to assert some power over her. "And I can't vouch for yours...You attack and threaten an ally of the First Order, your superiors...They will not let that go unpunished...."

She stood up straight then, angry that he was putting herself in such a position to be put under his boot. The Force gathered around her and she focused it on Connor's heart, enveloping it and squeezing it enough for him to feel it. "...And neither will I. If you find my daughter, you'll only hold it against me. I will not be yours to command! Now give it back!"

Connor pocketed the chip.

"I said I will help, so I will help. And funny how accommodating you were on Commenor, but now here you play the victim when it suits."

He turned and walked back towards the window looking out over Avalonia.

"And let's not forget, you asked a Ren for help, and then you attacked a Ren on First Order soil. You're lucky I don't have you arrested for that. So don't threaten me, your Highness."

With a glance back to her, he raised his brow, trying to mask the pain he felt on the grip that tugged at his heart, and he had to put his hand out to steady himself.

"Is there anything else? You need to prepare for a wedding don't you. And heed...my warning.... for you are not a victim...at all...."

Kay narrowed her eyes. "You attacked me first! I wouldn't be arrested for defending myself! This is Commenor's Embassy, so it's Commenori soil!"

She approached [member="Connor Harrison"] then, still maintaining her grip on his heart. "Why are you doing this? I changed my mind about seeking your help after you revealed your intent. I'm not playing hard-to-get, Connor. Your methods are not going to win me over. You're threatening my family and are thereby endangering yours. I don't want to see you killed, but you are heading down that path very quickly. Give me the chip back please and I'll remove what I mistakingly put on there and give it back." She released her grip over him. Easily she could have killed him, but Connor was right in saying that it would get her into trouble with the First Order. She had to go by their rules.

Connor leant on the window, his palm spreading and tensing, fingers dragging down the glass as her grip was tight on his heart.

The breathing was staggered and it hurt on each movement of the lungs.

However, he stayed silent, not looking away even as he wanted to gasp in agony.

And, then, it went and he took a big breath in without there being pressure on his chest, pushing on the window.

A small crack splintered across the glass.

"I wanted the kiss you denied me on Commenor...I took it....call it an easy way out of spending a night with me."

His fist clenched over the chip.

"I will find your daughter, and then tell you where she is. I will not harm her, but if your people try to stop me, then I will. So it's your....." he winced and paused, composing himself, "...it's your choice who gets hurt."

Then, he forced a small smile.

"You can't threaten a man who has no family to lose, your Highness."

He hung his head head and regulated his breathing.

Kay's tension eased slightly as [member="Connor Harrison"] no longer seemed to be threatening her. The struggle was over, for now.

Yet still he was getting his way.

"You better not harm her. I'm sure that she's gone through enough already. Even her brother was lost to her... " She chewed the inside of her cheek. Kay may have put pressure on his heart, yet he was tugging at hers with his mention of having no family. "Is that what all of this is about? That you have no family, so you are doing whatever you can to take one? That's not how it works...." Her brows furrowed as she tried to think of some sort of solution. "Do right by me, and we won't have reason to fight anymore." The two could have killed eachother, yet both held restraint. That spoke volumes.

Pity. It was always pity he attracted.

"I do not WANT a family. I do not WANT yours or anyone's. You do not miss something you've never had," he hissed.

Pushing up from the window, he walked past Kay, stopping beside her and looking down on the face of a person he still could not read as much as he wanted to.

"What is the brothers name. All leads are important."

He may not have a family, or want one. But it was worth trying to break down Kay's so she saw how cruel reality could be away from a life of luxury.

Kay frowned as [member="Connor Harrison"] let out another outburst when she was just trying to help. She folded her arms across her chest as he began to move past her and then stopped.

His request caused her to raise a brow slightly. There could be false records out there, so she needed to weed them out from the real ones. "I won't tell you yet. They were hidden for a reason. The right records will contain it. You should find the adoption file, and if not, I'll let you know. The wrong ones would give a false name, or none altogether. Let me know what you find."

Connor held her gaze, noting the defensive arm folding she did when her guard came up. His eyes flicked up to the security cam in the corner of the room, pointing to the main desk and capturing the door in and out.

"I'll let you know what I find. Then, we will talk again."

His eyes narrowed slightly.

"I won't hold out for an invitation to the wedding."

With that, he moved past her to the door to leave for her knew what he had to do. It was now a case of what repercussions came with it.

Kay nodded as [member="Connor Harrison"] reaffirmed his intention to look. Just the mere thought of the wedding angered him. She saw that. Whether or not he'd be invited remained to be seen.

After Connor left her office, she dropped her arms and let out a big breath, followed by a fit of coughing. She took a seat in the nearest chair, needing to take a moment. "I have to go home...." She spoke to no one in particular. Her hand touched her throat gently, feeling the bruises that she knew were there. There were eyes watching her here, so she couldn't heal herself just yet. She had to get back to her ship first.

After giving herself another moment, Kay got to her feet and headed to her desk. She grabbed her datapad from her desk and stepped out of her office. Her visit in First Order space was over. She needed to go back to Commenor. Whether or not she told anyone what happened today was difficult for her to decide right now. Security around her would only tighten and she'd never get solitude again. Not to mention the notion of Connor acting out on his threats was very real.

What a pickle they were in. Her life was never easy.
