Reverse The Hunt

Cylus Jest

Servant of the Inquisition
Cylus was bumped slightly as the Lambda shuttle breached atmosphere, flying directly upwards to where his personal ship would be waiting.

It could be a little while of waiting, he headed back out of the cockpit to see how [member="Judgement"] was doing with the corpse. It appeared to be some sort of giant rat or something of the type, it had truly been a surprise to find it out somewhere so remote as Tatooine, but the creature had been there.

Then again, it was a better prize than nothing. The hunting trip had started out so well, tracks of what may have been a large Krayt Dragon, but had ended in simply finding a small nest of these little creatures, of which a couple were wounded and only one was slain.

Glancing up at Judgement, he couldn't help but wonder how she felt about the meagre prize. If she wanted it, she could have it. After all, you had to give people benefits or else they wouldn't get along with you very well.

"You can have it, if you'd like." He spoke, his voice switching between a generous and harsh tone, apparently having difficulty deciding which to use. Oh well, it didn't matter in the end did it?

Judgement sighed as she dug her hands into the rat's corpse, getting her gloves slick with blood and intestines. The others had gotten away, but they'd managed to kill this one. . .thing.
The sandy cave wasn't exactly the most comfortable place, but it was better than the deserts outside. Her hopes had been lifted when they'd found the Krayt Dragon tracks, but her heat delirium had left her. . . in an uncomfortable place, to say the least.
Once she had the things basic guts out, she'd take it to the ship they'd arrived on.

Cylus grunted as the beast thudded into his leg, sending him sprawling into the ground as he held back it's vicious maw with his E-11. The thing had gotten sand in it or something, it wasn't firing. The creature's legs scraped against the plastoid armor he wore, making a loud and quite ugly noise.

He glanced over to see a pair of the creature's hissing at Judgement, moving to assail her. She appeared to be keeping them at bay fairly well however. He sent a headbutt into the creature on him, durasteel snapping against it's snout and sending it rolling. He had only a few moments to act, hand blurring up in motion as it clicked once, twice on the trigger. The crack of the blaster echoed out of the sandy cave as the bolt of red light struck the thing in the chest.

It squealed for a few moments before lying still, the other pair of creatures took off deeper into the cave.
"Not what I was expecting." He grunted as he stood, catching his breath and motioning to the dead rattish thing.
[member="Judgement"]

The woman held up her hand in a fist, halting [member="Cylus Jest"] at the entrance to the cave.
She peered deeper within, her eyes trying to adjust to the dark. She'd heard something, she knew it. It had sounded like little paws racing across the ground. . .

And just like that, three little things leaped at them. While Judgement was drawing her swords, to fight the to that came at her, one pounced on Cylus, knocking him to the ground.

While an assorted farmer or hunter of some sort may have shielded his eyes to see the far-off cave, Cylus did not have to. It was quite frankly one of the only true benefits of the Plague mask that he and his Undying wore, the fact that it blurred out bright lights, shaded them so that it was easy to see in the bright.

And in the bright they were, it was also sandy. The sand lapped against his legs and his cloak as he walked, it was a sweaty and hot thing, but he didn't dare take it off with [member="Judgement"] around him for fear she may try to find some sort of weakness in his armor when he wasn't looking.

The tracks seemed to lead to the cave as well, it was time to take off.
"Shall we?"

Judgment wished she could wipe a hand across her sweaty brow, but knew it was futile with her mask. The woman simply sighed and kept walking, wishing she could forget the last hour or so.
In the galaxies usual way of messing with her, she'd succumbed to the heat, and started babbling nonsense, including things about herself she did not like talking about.
Her partner, [member="Cylus Jest"], had thrown water in her mask, some of which got through to her face, snapping her out of it.
She could only hope he didn't think of her as a babbling fool.

Some people could survive the intense heat of Tattooine for much longer times than others. [member="Judgement"] was not one of those people. While on the trail of what had appeared to be Krayt Dragon tracks she had simply fallen to the ground.

Then she had begun to babble foolishly about things which seemed both incoherent and generally uninteresting. He retrieved a flask of water and spouted it into her mask as he tried to snap her out of it.

"Stay on task." He spoke sharply

"I hate this karking planet." Judgement muttered under her breath as they tracked the Krayt Dragon. She was familiar with these sandy deserts, and she knew she couldn't take this heat for much longer.
Her mask was simply a hunk of metal on her face, and conducted the heat directly onto her. She didn't know how much more she could take, and simply trudged on, her only consolation being that surely [member="Cylus Jest"] was having trouble with the heat; though from the way he moved, one would guess he was a native.

Cylus shook his head once as he kneeled down to the sand, they had just passed over a slight hillock and the shuttle was in sight when he had spotted it. Tracks, a line of the stretching out for a long while and over another set of hills in the distance. They were large, and he was quite sure they belonged the a species of indigenous life which had caused much commotion over the last centuries.

The Krayt Dragon. He had full intentions of finding one if he could, perhaps it would make a good pet in it's new home at The Estate.
"Come on [member="Judgement"], let us hunt this beast." He spoke simply as he motioned for her to follow and set out on the trail of the tracks.

As she exited the shuttle, Judgement sighed as her boots stepped onto Tattooine's sands. It had been almost two years since she had last been on this planet, and she had almost hoped she never would.
But, [member="Cylus Jest"] had asked her to go hunting, and she couldn't turn him down.
They had chatted on the Lambda shuttle, and she had enjoyed it. The masked woman looked out at the sands and turned to her hunting partner.
"Shall we?"
