The Hunt

Loken visibly winced as his brother popped his back.

"No, not blind. Just visually impaired," he muttered, shaking his head as Kaden tore a piece of meat from the dead Zakkeg. He was going to say something about feeding the infant the remnants of the Cannok they had killed, but it seemed Kaden didn't want to take any chances. With some element of disdain flitting across his patrician features, Loken followed his sibling's example.

The meat was stringy and strangely bloodless, though Loken knew certain muscles tended to lose their supply of vitae upon exertion. Satisfied that the piece he'd torn away was large enough, Loken strolled on over to the larger of the two Zakkegs. The infant's green eyes narrowed in slit a it regarded Loken with suspicion, evidently not as keen to take food from a hairless ape as its small counterpart.

"She was going to eat you first," Loken pointed out as he fell to a knee in front of the baby. The previously silent creature made a quiet chirping noise, its cry of a lower pitch than its sibling. It took the carrion with trepidation at first, though it seemed the extinct to feed won out in the end as it began to rip the food apart. Loken placed a gentle hand on the beast's snout, upon which it stared up at him curiously.

"Kahliir, for you are a cautious, intelligent child, and you have skin like the void," Loken murmured. The infant Zakkeg just blinked at him, seemingly accepting of its new moniker.

"We should stay here for the night. We can move on the ship tomorrow. That should give you time to put your head on shape, Kaden. Thought you might have died for a minute there." Kahliir made a honking noise, as if in agreement with Loken.

"You have to follow your own path."
Kaden had already sat down in the side of the cave when his brother mentioned they should stay the night here. He glanced down to the small Zakkeg that was playfully nibbling at the tip of his finger. He chuckled at the small creature before rubbing his hand over it's smooth skin. He glanced up to Loken before nodding in agreement with his words. 'Yea...a night's rest would be good before we got to moving out.

The small Zakkeg continued to nibble on him, nearly to the point where his entire finger had become covered in the creature's saliva. 'Enough, I'll call you Ya'lea....since you're so full of life and energy.' The creature could not hear him so the man parted his lips, smiling as he spoke in a tone that was obviously void of sound perception. "Ya'lea." The Zakkeg did not stop his nibbling on Kaden's finger, but a small yip could be heard from underneath it's small maw. 'Good enough.'

Kaden continued to pet the infant Zakkeg as he closed his eyes, leaning back on the wall behind him.

Slowly and without warning Kaden drifted into a deep sleep, his connection to his brother becoming silent as his mind fell from consciousness.

"Yes, he's very smelly Kahliir," Loken agreed. The little beast made a honking noise up at him, before trotting on over to its mother's corpse. Were its sibling had drifted off to sleep along with Kaden, Kahliir seemed content to muddle about. Grunting, Loken rose to his feet and strolled over to the body. He turned to speak to Kaden, only to find that his sibling had fallen into slumber.

"Figures. Not like I was expecting help dressing this old bastard down." Loken grumbled. He relied on Kahliir for sight, seeing as reaching out with the force at the moment was proving to be rather tiresome, and Kaden was asleep. He felt around on the Zakkeg's body, using his hands and feet to determine his position as his eyes stared uselessly forward. Kahliir huddled up at his heels, making quiet grumbling noises every time Loken came to close to the older beast's scales.

After some time of determining just which part of the Zakkeg was edible and which part was not, Loken began the long process of cutting. He tore long strips of meat from the monster's thorny thighs, and took to the timely process of removing the creature's internal organs and throwing them outside the cave. If nothing else, they should satisfy anything looking for a meal.

"I'm Loken," he explained to Kahliir, who was never more than a foot away from the Echani. "My brother is Kaden. We're...mercenaries, I guess. We crashed here a few months ago. Your mom was hunting us. We had to kill her to protect ourselves -- that's how things work here. You understand."

The baby Zakkeg's narrow eyes drooped, indicating that it didn't understand at all. Touched with a pang of guilt, Loken tossed the infant some of the dried Cannok jerky he'd been keeping in his belt. That seemed to lift its spirits.

"Our parents were generals, though they fought on opposing sides. Well, mother was a Sun Guard, so technically not a general, but she held the same kind of power. They died when we were little, and we've been on the run ever since."

It didn't take long to start the campfire, and shortly thereafter Loken had fashioned a cooking spit from the trees outside. Bits of Zakkeg meat cooked quietly over the fire, and Kahliir curled up in Loken's lap. He bit into one of the cooked slices, savoring the taste.

"We're going to leave soon. Figure you're going to come with us," He mused as the fire died. "I think you'll like space. It's your namesake, after all." Other words were spoken, but Loken forgot them as he drifted into slumber.

"You have to follow your own path."
Morning came faster and faster the more they stayed on the planet. Kaden felt a cool tongue running over his face and he could only guess who it could be. He groaned a bit, feeling a great deal of soreness in his back as he adjusted himself against the rock wall. The tongue continued until finally Kaden opened his eyes to see Ya'lea perched up on his chest. Kaden struggled to pull the memories that came from the past night but it was not long until he remembered the pair of Zakkeg pups that he and Loken had taken in. "Hey boy..." His hand ran over the pup while he adjusted his eyes to use once again.

Kaden looked up to see Loken fast asleep on the other side of the cave. He took note of the fire that had been erected in the night, it was but ash and scattered timber in the place of a true fire.

Eventually pushing himself to his feet he turned out of the cave, Ya'lea following closely behind his heel. The small pup cut off Kaden's steps and began running rapid circles around the Echani. "Hey, that's enough." The small Zakkeg began to yip at Kaden wildly. Though he could not hear it he could easily make out the action.

He tapped into the recesses of the force so his hearing would be slightly better but he still lacked full control until his brother rose from his slumber. Kaden bent down to pick the pup up, cradling him in one of his arms before walking towards the cave entrance.

The rain had finally come to a halt, though there was a cool mist covering the forest around them. Kaden ran a hand over Ya'lea's temple before stepping out into the open grass.

"We're leaving today....About time. I'm ready to go." He turned back to the cave, setting his pup down as he made his way over to where Loken slept. Rather than wake the brother he removed his vest and tossed it onto the man. It was still early and Loken deserved a bit of extra rest. Rather than wake him he gathered a few errant sticks so they could start another fire for the morning.

Mother had been a true war hero. There few that ascended to the ranks of the Sun Guard, and even fewer that held a position of command within their revered organization. Battered as they had been during their enslavement to an order of Sith Lords, the guard had eventually recovered. They had led numerous military campaigns against the other five Sister Worlds of Eshan, and that civil war was where she had met father.

The old man had been an honored general of Eshan. Many times he and mother had met upon the field of battle, yet neither could ever gain the upper hand over the other. It was the end of the war, and the encroachment of the Sith Empire that drew them together. Their union had resulted in the birth of the twin boys, and had pressed them to make the decision to leave Echani space.

Loken saw them both. His mother, short in stature with raven hair and caramel skin watched him with that tight smile she always wore. Blue eyes flickered over his form, then down to the traditional red armor of the Sun Guard she wore. His father stood alongside her, tall and broad shouldered with hair white as the moon. His features were hardened, and wrinkles of stress and age framed eyes of sharp gray.

His father drew his vibro-foil from its sheathe, and his mother retrieved the war-spear from her back. Loken's lips pressed into a thin line, and a blade of white energy materialized between his fingertips.

Each parent lunged toward the child, but neither weapon found purchase. The blade of white light carved through both their tools of war. Just as the assault was parried, his parents vanished, replaced by a singular cowled figure. It raised a pale, gnarled hand, and Loken's world shattered.

"Sullust," the word was spoken upon the whispers of the apocalypse. "Find Sullust. Find the watchers of the temple. Only then can the united Echani peoples be preserved."

Loken awoke in a deep sweat his eyes shooting open and his lips parting to draw a deep breath. Kahliir stirred at his side, glancing up lazily at the Echani warrior. Memories of the night prior and all that had occurred flooded Loken's mind, but the dream and its words lingered

Blinking, he spoke aloud just as he spoke with his mind. "The demon visited my dreams once again," Loken sighed, reaching up to pinch the bridge of his nose. "It spoke of Sullust and a temple, though I don't know what Sullust is nor the significance of this temple."

"You have to follow your own path."
Loken's lengthened sleep gave Kaden the time he needed to fashion another fire to take the edge off of the morning chill. Both of the men were still damp from the previous days heavy blanket of rain. The threat of sickness was all too real and they could not afford such an obstacle in their plans to leave the planet. Once the red hot flames could be seen dancing in hunger for the wood laid beneath it Kaden turned to the meat that his brother had harvested the night before. Most of it had already been cooked but there were yet a few raw strips that could be salvaged, though it was not particularly ideal to eat meat that had sat over night Kaden and Loken had a distinct taste for not starving to death.

He laid the pieces of meat over the roasting stick, glancing down to see his newest friend. Ya'lea had sat himself on his haunches and was making a high pitched whining noise that Kaden could barely make out as a begging squeal. "Ok beggar, you're gonna get fat y'know?" He tossed one of the strips onto the ground next to the infant Zakkeg who immediately gave a loud yip before tackling the piece of meat.

Kaden could not help but smile at the pup before making his way back outside the cave. He was halted by an odd feeling washing over him, almost a sense of deja vu without the indication of a forgotten memory.

He continued outside and searched the nearby trees, looking for the one's that had the largest of leaves. Eventually his eyes fell to one that had leaves that were nearly a foot long. Kaden began to collect the leaves as well as a few vines, quickly returning to the cave where his brother slept.

When he reentered the cave Loken was not only awake but seemed to be in a state of deep thinking. Kaden dropped the supplies before holding a hand up, making a few quick hand gestures that could be easily interpreted as sign language. 'Are you ok Bre'thro? You seem disturbed...'

Rarely did Kaden use his sign language when speaking to his brother. When he felt the need to it was usually for moments when he felt his brother could use a relieving thought. Kaden had trouble with his hearing since birth. In anticipation for the day he may fully lose his hearing their mother had taught the both of them sign language. As children they often spoke in that manner as if it was their own secret code. The Echani people were keen to the slightest body movements during conversation, so much so that these movements actually became a part of their dialect itself. So sign language was also seen as a very intimate form of communication.

Loken barely caught the motions, and he did not reply immediately. His brow furrowed as he stared up at his sibling, the Zakkeg pup at his side totting off to join its brother by the fire. After a long moment's hesitation, Loken nodded.

"Bad dreams." Loken signed back, his gaze falling to the cavern floor. Such dreams had plagued him for a week now, and though none were identical to their predecessor, all shared similarities. The general theme was the same; the home world was in trouble, and action needed to be undertaken to prevent it. They did not, of course, explain how to solve this problem save for cryptic answers.

"Talking about Sullust again." He continued, mouthing the name as he rose to his feet. From the simple roll of his shoulders and the darting of his eyes, Kaden could easily guess at Loken's discomfort.

"It's nothing," he finally spoke aloud, "Something we ran into probably spooked me more than I realized, and it's making my mind linger on some kind of subconscious fear. I dunno. Maybe it's just the result of having to spend all this time alone with you. Your general idiocy grating on my psyche: that sort of thing." Loken flashed his sibling a grin as he settled down by the fire.

He chewed at the Zakkeg meat thoughtfully as he made a count of every arrow in his quiver. Eleven remained -- enough to fend off whatever might try to stalk them on the relatively short trip to the landing sight.

The two infants busied themselves fighting one another alongside Loken. The Echani watched them play with an amused little grin.

"Place isn't too far. Sooner e start, sooner we arrive."

"You have to follow your own path."
When Loken ended their signing Kaden returned to the small pile of leaves and vines he had collected, taking one of the large blades and making his way over to the fire where he left the meat to cook. Kaden placed a few pieces of meet on the leaf before folding it over the Zakkeg strips. The sound of wild yapping interrupted the twin, causing him to look down with an arched brow. His eyes took hold of the scene below him. Ya'lea had pinned his larger brother and was licking him furiously, driving the larger of the two Zakkeg crazy.

Kaden chuckled a bit before bending down to pet his new pet. 'Looks like your pup fairs in combat about as well as you do.' He mused, using one of the vines he collected to bind the leaf around their meal. He continued to do this until he had three pouched of Zakkeg meat for the brother's to carry with them. He tied each of the pouches together with the vines, forming a type of harness so they could be easily carried through the dangerous jungle.

He nodded at his brother's words before crossing his arms silently. Kaden was ready to get off this planet, but even more so he felt as if there was something the brothers should do. More than mercenaries and bodyguards, something that actually mattered. 'Should we go home?'

There was a brief moment of pause as the brother stared out the mouth of the cave. 'We haven't been home in years. I miss Eshan, i miss our people....I'm sick of being alienated from them.' The brother turned to look at Loken, his expression holding equal amounts of pain and aggravation. 'Why are we doing this? I feel like we're wasting our lives brother...' Kaden walked over to the fire, glancing down to the Zakkeg pups who were nuzzled into each other, finally finished with their combative playing.

Kaden picked the pup up, rubbing it's head softly before turning out of the cave. 'Let's go. We can reach the ship soon if we hurry.' It did not take a bond for Loken to sense the aggravation that spilled from his brother.

"He's getting stronger every day." Loken offered in Kahliir's defense. The pup didn't seem to pay him much find -- it was too busy relaxing by the fire. Loken wasted little time in carving off his own sections of meat from the Zakkeg, stuffing them into similar pouches along his belt. Before finishing however, he cut four of the Zakkeg's thorny scales from its head, and hung them from a string tied to hit belt.

Kahliir hastened up alongside him, and Loken scooped the little beast up. He would have let the infant walk, but they needed to move at a pace that neither of the babies could maintain.

"You want to go home?" Loken asked. In truth, he'd felt a similar desire to return to their place of birth. At the same time, the promise of coin and fame had kept him away from their ancestral home. What good could they do for Eshan anyway? The world was still deeply embroiled in its racial feuds between the Thrysians and the other Echani peoples. Two half-breeds weren't going to do much to change that, even with the force.

Unless...

"My dreams tell me of a place called Sullust. They say going there will help save the homeworld, but they don't explain how. The voice though, it sounds like dad's." He finally admitted as the fire died. Loken wasted no time breaking off at a brisk walk in the direction the ship had gone. Kahliir dug his little talons into the Echani's shoulder, tearing the fabric from his jacket and scraping the skin beneath. Loken did well to ignore it, satisfied the baby wasn't going to fall if nothing else.

"Maybe we should go there; figure out why it calls. You know mom had the visions -- it could be hereditary." His brow furrowed as he mulled over the thought. "Maybe Sullust is the way."

"You have to follow your own path."
Kaden maintained a brisk march through the forest, his eyes peeled for any sign of more predator's. Oddly enough they walked for a good distance without being bothered by even the smallest of animal. He glanced down to the baby Zakkeg in his arms and chuckled at the revelation. 'Of course...They smell you guys so they think your mother must be near by. Thanks Ya'lea.' He smiled down at the small pup before running his hand over it's small maw.

The deaf twin continued to cradle the pup before turning his attention towards his brother's words. Sullust. There wasn't much to that planet that Kaden could see as overly useful, but he also did not make a habit of doubting his brother's words. 'Sullust? I remember reading about it when we were younger. It's a lava world, kind of like Mustafar but a bit less...dangerous, for lack of a better word.'

As they moved through the maze of trees Kaden continued to run over the options in his mind. They could return home where most likely a civil war, or at least it's unspoken equal, was waged over the most basic and primitive of matters. On the other hand they could return to their mercenary work and end up stranded on another planet again for months. He exhaled at the thought of being marooned on another planet.

In the end Sullust was the only true option. Though it was not exactly the best of plans he knew there had to be something there if his brother was having visions about it.

'Ok. We'll go to Sullust. If you're having visions it must be for a reason. The force will guide us, isn't that what mother would always say?' His words were echoed in a a rather unbelieving tone, but he believed them regardless of his standing.

"Something like that. She was always a little bit too religious for my tastes if I'm going to be honest with you," Loken murmured, his gaze darting from one tree to the next. Anything could have been lurking in that dense foliage, and while the pups' scent most certainly helped, there were no guarantees. If the twins were supremely unlucky, they might end up attracting a male Zakkeg looking to mate with their deceased mother. Loken could only hope that the beasts ranged far enough away from one another not to notice.

Kahliir made a chirping noise just as they came to a break in the forest. Loken glanced at the little creature curiously, before turning his attention to the scene that awaited them. The vessel was intact, though its landing looked somewhat rough. A fire burned alongside it, and a rough leather tent had been erected just a few paces away. Alongside the fire stood a figure cloaked in robes that seemed to drain all the light from around him. They fell in great waves to his feet, and Loken could tell simply by looking at the outline of him that this individual was rather large.

With obvious trepidation, Loken lowered the infant to the forest floor and gestured toward a nearby stump. The baby Zakkeg complied, trotting over the the stump and falling onto its haunches. Fortunately, the infant blended in rather well with the foliage.

Drawing himself up to his full height, Loken stepped free of the forest. The figure turned to face him immediately, though his features were hidden by his deep cowl.

"Watch yourself with this guy. He's giving me bad vibes," Loken said through the mental link. The figure almost seemed to take note of this, hid head cocking with obvious curiosity at the approaching Echani. The stranger then stood, and it was clear the robes concealed much. He stood at least eight feet in height, and towered over the twins.

The shrouded being regarded them with a tilting of his head, and an outstretched palm of gnarled flesh. To Loken, the being looked familiar, though he could not guess as to how.

"Hello," Loken offered a thin smile, "Saw you in town. Figured we'd say hello. Is this your vessel?" He asked, though there was clear caution lacing his words. The figure nodded his shrouded head. "It is mine. I felt you fighting the Zakkeg, and I have awaited you since."

Loken blinked.

"You felt us?"

"Though the force. I come here to find privacy when I feel suffocated by vipers," the being hissed, his voice like that of a howling wolf. "Why do you come here?"

Loken hesitated. "W-...Erhm, we needed a ride off this world. Ours crashed, and -" The being held up a pale hand for silence. "Enough. I understand. You may take my vessel. I had no intention of returning."

The Echani stared on in confusion.

"You have to follow your own path."
Kaden felt his brother could be entirely too trusting at times.

It would have been far wiser for one of them to approach while the other hid in the shadows, prepared to strike in the case of an emergency. Never the less Kaden advanced with his brother, his hands remaining loose by his side, yet his body in a full state of preparation. Ya'lea was set down by his brother, both of the pups exercised a great deal of wary just as their master's had. It was rather odd, at times it seemed as if the pups were but reflections of their master's.

He watched as Ya'lea tried to scoot past his brother but only managed to run head-first into the stump that was beside them. The young Echani could not help but exhale at the sight.

Maybe not entirely like their master's...

Kaden watched the exchange between his brother and the robed stranger with minimal interest. His true sights were on the ship before them. He recognized it well and before he knew it he stepped forward, his mental link to his brother interjecting into their conversation. 'Bre'thro....It's an HWK-290!' He approached the ship, running a hand over it as his mouth hung open in disbelief. The younger brother had always been fascinated with starships but the HWK series was by far his favorite. Sleek and stylish, compact yet battle capable, they were truly beautiful ships.

When the robed man said they could take the ship Kaden could no longer contain himself. An almost childlike glee came over him as he returned to his brother's side. 'Wow...We'll actually have our own ship....not some piece of junk we bought from scrappers...'

He turned to the man and arched a brow at him, his arms folded defensively as he spoke to his brother. 'Ask him why he's giving it to us? And even more importantly why would he be staying here?'

Loken did not share Kaden's excitement. He had a passion for tactics; the flow of the battlefield and the ebb of void warfare. Singular vessels did not interest him all that much, especially not ones that belong to suspiciously cowled strangers. The young warrior of Eshan approached the stranger, only to find himself halting as a gnarled hand raised. The figure loomed over the twins, seemingly appraising the duo for a time. Whenever that time had passed -- Loken had no idea how long it was -- the creature drew back its cowl.

He was an alien of a sort Loken had never seen before. His pale features were obscured by a mask of bone framed by two long ears that reminded Loken of the Sephi. With a slight flourish, the stranger bowed low. "I am the chronicler, and I have long watched the both of you." The creature began, "My reasons for that, however, are private. Just know that I am a friend of your parents." Though his features were hidden by the visage of bone, Loken could feel the muscles in his face tightening with a smile.

"Sullust hosts a temple of great import. There, you will learn the arts required of your birthright. That, of which, you will come to know in due time." The Chronicler gestured toward the vessel. "I've another ship not far from here, so I will not be stranded. The coordinates for Sullust have been set into the navi-comp. When you arrive, you will come to understand that world's importance."

The Chronicler tilted forward in another half-bow. "Do not let me keep you, children of Eshan. Watch one another, for your blood is a valued commodity among the people of Eshan. They will try to persuade you once they know you yet live, and so you cannot learn of that which I speak just yet."

Loken parted his lips to speak, but the Chronicler simply ceased to be. Nothing was left of him -- he had disappeared in the blink of an eye, and the fire had died with his departure. A chill ran down Loken's spine, but he did well to suppress it.

"Prep the ship. Make sure it sin't bugged: I'll get the babies," Lokeb muttered, clearly rather shaken up by the whole affair. Without another word, he turned to retrieve the pups.

"You have to follow your own path."
The chronicler? Kaden searched the deepest part of his memories but could find no matching moniker for that name in his entire history. Though Loken had the better of the two's memory he was surprised to hear of a friend of his parent's that he could not remember.

The young Echani turned from the man once again to examine the ship that had been gifted to the duo. 'It's not in the best condition but I'm sure I can get it to fly.' When Kaden returned his attention to his brother The Chronicler had disappeared from site, not only site but the slight tremor in the force he had brought with him had also died. With nothing else to tie them to their conversation Kaden could now turn his attention to his new ship.

Kaden opened the main ramp to the ship, immediately making his way to the cockpit. He smiled, glancing down at the black chair that served as the Captain's seat. He sat in the seat, leaning back to examine the controls set out before him. 'Basic controls, I should be able to fly this thing just find. I'll start the warming the engines up and checking the life-support systems.'

As his hand moved to flip a few of the ship's switches he smiled at the reaction he received. The Engine's began to slowly cycle, preparing for the energy needed to get them started. The lights inside of the ship all came to life as he turned out of the cockpit and made his way to the engine room. 'Always wanted my own ship. It will need a name.' As Kaden checked the engine systems to make sure they were fully functional a smirk came to his face. 'How about The Soaring Wanderer?!'

[member="Loken Blake"]

Loken wasn't much of a pilot. He really could not afford to be, being blind and all. Yes, the force could provide him vision if that was required, but his mind struggled to keep up with it the way normal eyes would allow. His reaction times just weren't quick enough to anything reliably other than plot a hyperspace course, and so he served as a skilled and willing navigator. The flying was Kaden's business, and Loken was happy to leave it to his younger sibling. Flying was, after all, for droids.

The two Zakkeg pups were retrieved with relative ease. They came into his arms eagerly, evidently rather spooked by this figure that called himself the Chronicler. As Loken began the short walk back to the ship, he decided the tiny beasts had ample reason to fear the Chronicler. He was an unknwon figure, and one that evidently knew far more than he let on. Giving away a ship to people that were more or less strangers certainly did not inspire confidence either.

Once aboard the vessel, Loken penned away a small section in the main cargo hold for the infants to play and began a long sweep of the ship for bugs. With his senses extended, Loken was rather sure his assessment -- that the ship was indeed free of listening devices -- was accurate.

Seemed the Chronicler was simply generous.

Upon further inspection, the Echani found that the nav-comp did indeed have the coordinates for Sullust saved into the system, but the comp had not been locked. If the twins wanted, they could take of to any corner of the galaxy.

"Sure, sure. That'll work," Loken mumbled disinterestedly as the name was brought up. He settled down into the co-pilot's seat, and began inputting the necessary commands to plot a course for Sullust.

"Let's not come back here if we can help it Kaden. I'm tired of jungles, and I really need a shower."

"You have to follow your own path."
After Kaden checked the ship's engines for any indication of tampering or even a booby trap he returned to his place in the cockpit. Slipping into the leather pilot's seat he took a moment to familiarize himself with the controls of their new ship. The controls were in coordiantion with all other Coreliian starships. Therefore it was a rather generic setup that Kaden found easy to familiarize himself with. The steering mechanism was a sleek metallic half-moon flight stick that was meant for slightly more experienced pilot's than Kaden who ranked as a novice.

The Echani warrior could not help but allow a small smile to come over him as he recalled his many flight lessons with his mother. While there was not enough time to turn him into an ace pilot she assured that at least one of the boy's knew the basics of flying. With Loken's eyesight being a very considerable factor he was automatically eliminated from the choice of which one.

Kaden's hand brushed over the console in front of him as he brought the engine's to life. He felt a slight kick as they freed themselves from the piling of foliage that had come intertwined with their right wing. As the ship's engine's continued to whine the Wayward Wanderer continued to levitate towards Dxun's cloudy sky. In the end luck had been on their side, were it no such a clear day for the planet it could have been far more difficult to free themselves of this hellish planet.

Kaden glanced over to his brother as he joined him in the cockpit. Kaden's eyes flitted to the fuel meter and nodded towards Loken as he spoke of never returning to Dxun. 'I agree. I like the weather but as for the rest of it....I'll pass.'

The ship gave off a mighty roar when Kaden jerked back on the flight controls, sending the ship speeding out of the atmosphere. As they flitted past the dark grey masses of clouds Kaden maintained a stable grip on the stick, keeping the ship itself stable as they burst through the planet's graviational pull. 'And we're out bre'thro. Course is plotted to Sullest, I'll prep the hyperdrive.' There were three silver switches parallel to a large black lever that sat on the left side of the console, he activated each of the switches so the ship's hyperdrive would be prepared for the jump to lightspeed. A small light underneath the hyperdrive quickly illuminated with a green light, showing they were prepared to enter hyperspace.

Without a moment of hesitation Kaden pulled the hyperdrive lever back, allowing the ship to slip into lightspeed. He watched as the black void of space was quickly overwhelmed with the shimmering nebula of hyperspace. The millions of stars, moons, and planets they passed at incredible rates could now only be seen as small white blurs.
