Question Review Decisions

How are judges instructed to choose which submittals to review? I ask, because I see a lot of reviews of brand new submissions (posted today) where there are submissions waiting to be reviewed that have been there for nearly 10 days (see tech review).

Honestly? Entirely up to what we see. Often, I pick subs based on what I think I can handle in the moment. Vehicle subs are easy for me, because it's just a handful of canon components. Same with ranged weapons and melee weapons.

Tech subs often get let aside because a lot of times, they throw big science words, and it causes me to have to take a step back, do more research, and figure out if stuff is allowed. Often, I leave that to more experienced judges.

Both the Factory and the Codex should be operating as follows:

Codex:

These are taken from the respective Codex and Factory Judging Guides we've set up for both sections. The exception to taking the oldest submission first would be if the submission is from the CJ/FJ's faction. We try to avoid that, but if the submission sits for a few days and isn't picked up by anyone else, they can hop on it. If an issue arises from that, it would come to me or John Locke John Locke .

We can remind our teams that oldest come first if that's gone awry or it's somehow been misunderstood.

That being said...Please remember this Factory and Codex Information:
  • All Codex/Factory Submissions may be introduced into role-play threads whose start date begins after the submission's posted date.
So, waiting for an FJ or a CJ should not impact your roleplay nor should it impede you in any way. There are times when both sections get backed up more than normal, and it's important to remember that Judges are volunteers. They do the best that they can while maintaining IRL and generally just writing on the site and other hobbies.

TLDR: We'll take a look, but please have patience.

Hope this information helps!

Not worried about myself. Just seen that some things are getting reviewed that are put up the same day when there are older things in the forum waiting for review (the nearly 10 day old one is not my own, for the record). I've even had some of mine reviewed same day before older ones got reviewed. Just want to make sure it's being done fairly for all.

The way I do it (when I clean out the entire Factory) is to start with Starship at the oldest, work my way up from there. Then vehicle, droid... etc up to Technology, where also oldest --> newest. I know that I might fall into adding a completely new sub because it happens to be in a category below, but otherwise I try to stick to the oldest ---> newest rule.

I understand.

There are times when things are judged in a different order for varying reasons that you aren't privy to but the basic structure that we follow is detailed above. There isn't any "unfairness" because writers are not stopped or held up by the Judges. They can use their submission as it's posted with no delay or harm to their intended RP.

If anyone (not just you) feels like their sub might have been forgotten about though they can always ask myself or John Locke John Locke and we'll be happy to take a look. No - Just checking in with an a Admin does not count as bumping.

There's no harm in asking us.
