Constructed through various metallurgical and arcane means, Rhuza believed this retractable lance to be the perfect fit to his offense. Unsatisfied with the amount of sheer punishment he was able to dole out with his double-bladed lightsaber he hoped a comparable melee weapon could achieve the destructive force he sought to exhibit in close-quarters combat. He envisioned the weapon being both durable and a capable lightsaber replacement.
Being well versed in the process of alchemizing swords, Rhuza applied the same knowledge and techniques to his lance. The compounds used in the construction of typical blades increased the weight of swords by at least 3.5 kilograms, making the weapons much heavier than their length suggested. In crafting his lance, Rhuza's ideal weapon would not only weigh under 5 kilograms when extended but also bear the same properties of an alchemized sword, albeit without the notorious Nexus Effect.
After it's initial construction, the weapon was but a short spear, with a dull edge. Using quadranium for the edge of the 28cm blade, the weapon became augmented in both keenness and strength, allowing for more deeply penetrating injuries, thus increasing the chance of incapacitating his enemies more quickly.
Although, it'd been decades since he'd practiced Alchemy he found the process and techniques slowly returning to him as he continued to forge the weapon. After two slow and careful days of collecting additional liquids, minerals, and other various materials he began to enchant the short spear. Rhuza reversed the magnetic polarity of the weapon first, turning it into a superconductor that could both deflect blaster bolts as well as lightsabers. Such properties, combined with its attraction to the dark side of the Force, caused it to react as a conduit also, allowing it to attract and absorb energy, storing it like an electric capacitor until the energy was discharged at Rhuza's leisure.
Having spent 5 days on forging and enchanting the spear, Rhuza sought to give the weapon the feature to extend and retract. Collecting resources similar to what he used prior, he called upon the dark side once more, but this time to alter the weapon's molecular structure, while combining more mullinine to compensate for the extra alloy needed for the short spear to extend into a lance. This process continued for four days; adding and subtracting alloys while drawing upon the dark side during the entire process, leaving Rhuza extremely drained. This forced him to take two days of rest, but he achieved the desired affect. Upon returning to his lab, the weapon could retract and extend, although to the naked eye it appeared to have no feature that would allow such a thing. This particular ability can only be done by commanding it with the Force and even still, can only be done by Rhuza because his sole energy was tied and intertwined with every thread of metal the lance consisted of. The only noticeable side effects this ability had was a rather loud sound that accompanied the shifts, which were akin to a sword being pulled from a scabbard, or in this case a short spear being literally pulled into a lace or shrank, vice versa. The speed of the retraction and extension was also rather slow, making the feature completely useless during combat as it lacked the finesse to impale anything unless they purposely stood in front of the lance. Upon further investigation, Rhuza found that there was nothing he could do to hasten this feature.
An additional day was taken out to carve various symbols into the shaft of the weapon, ranging in meaning from his Eldorai roots with his family the Kingpriest's, as well as Dark Side hieroglyphics, ancient Sith text, and other various shapes and miscellaneous memorabilia. Most of which only he and beings like him could understand. These "final touches" are purely cosmetic and do not add any augmentations to the weapon itself.
Weaknesses:
- Should Rhuza be without aid of the Force the lance will be stuck in either state until he regains the ability to alter it again.
- Cannot be used during stealth and espionage missions, lest he risk being detected. Shifting the blade is rather loud and it cannot be muffled by anything Rhuza is aware of.
- The traits of this weapon, as with all alchemical creations, can be nullified by entrance into a Ysalamir field.
- This weapon can be, at the very least grievously damaged or completely destroyed by Force Light.
- As is common with alchemical creations, this weapon's pronounced Dark Side presence is fairly easy to detect.
