- Armed and Armored: She's got a lot of firepower and defense to her name.
- Dust makes me fly!: She can absorb space dust and disperse it on the battlefield, allowing her to scatter sensors, but most importantly, it can be used to watch for stealth ships moving through the dust cloud.
- I Know You're There: Lots of sensors and scanning equipment! She will find you!
- Less than Agile: She's a big pretty bird, but she's not going to be turning on any dimes.
- Shields up!: While her outer shield is extremely good against energy weapons, her particle shield is basic standard and prone to getting weakened by her dust dispersion system.
- Sails on the Horizon: Her sail structure is far weaker than the rest of the ship, making it prone to destruction at a far easier rate than the rest of the ship.
Dust Collector Sails and Dispersion System:
The Rift Reaper gets its name from lingering often in the confines of dust clouds. It trails in the wake of comets, and lurks in nebula clouds. As it does so, it rakes in the dust around it, storing it for use both as a scaring mechanism, and as a way to seek out cloaked vessels when it engages in major combat on behalf of the Alliance. The system pulls dust in, and as it does so it charges it electromagnetically. These charged particles are stored in a protective hollow within the sails, ready to be dispersed. When it comes time to disperse the dust, the polarity of the intake mechanism is changed, which projects the dust particles out of the storage chamber and back into space beyond, effectively creating new dust clouds where there previously were none, allowing the ship to "see" cloaked vessels moving through the clouds.
General:
Admiral Raze Lyter of the Galactic Alliance and the Alliance Privateers, was in need of a ship that could instill fear in his enemies, but also function on the battlefield. Additionally, in light of the recent turn towards stealth combat, he was in need of a ship capable of dealing with such. As a result, the Reaper-class Battlecruiser was born, but only one would ever be created: Rift Reaper. She hides in shadows, gas clouds, behind planets and moons. She belches forth a great gush of dust particles which can scatter sensors and provide eyes on enemy stealthed vessels. She lurks, and she strikes, leaving the death of the enemies of the Alliance in her wake. There is no quarter here.
