By the time that Malcolm got to where the main battle was taking place, the Viszla line had pushed the pirates back and into a mine. He saw the new Mand'alor talking to some other clan higher ups, he assumed, near the mine, while the warriors around him were setting up to assault the mine. Malcolm felt a bit foolish, trying to go around the flank. He was tired of underestimating distances in open terrain. Despite the training he'd been doing, he was still too used to the confines of shipboard combat, more suited to marine operations than army ones. Still, even these minor failings were offering him valuable lessons, and so he did not rue them as he walked past the pickets and into the army proper. Here and there, picket lines of the war beasts were being set up, while others were reloading weapons. Some people were being patched up, body and armor, at clearly marked locations.

Malcolm was not hurt, nor was his light armor more than scratched, so he found some general access supplies and reloaded his ammo. Then he took up a spot near the front lines watching the mine entrance. There he waited for the leaders to tell them to go in and take out the pirates.

There was more going and she had trailed off with a couple others, standing in the armor with her helmet on her belt while the cloak billowed behind her. Tysk found one of the Ithorians she could work with and he was meditating while she remained there with him. He seemed interesting enough sitting with her while she remained there and the others were pushing outwards to talk with them. She could focus while trying to win a little with them while she focused. "Thank you for this." She was sitting there while the force vibrated and went towards all of them with a small feeling outwards to find any of the others with them. "Mother, there is word coming from our sisters. They are engaged with the fighting in wardroids."

The warrior lay, back on the ground, chest aching. No time to stand. No time to look for foe who'd launched projectile. Kade activated the jetpack again and whooshed backward along the ground, barely avoiding another series of thud bugs that smacked into the ground with a sound like axe on wood. Kama protected back of legs from scorching burns.

He craned neck backward 'til he caught glimpse of the war beast just in front of him. Kade gripped beskad in firm hand, reached down with other and unclipped explosive from belt. Rotating his torso, he flipped himself over - still flying just above the ground - and cut the jets right as he drew within sword's range of the foul creature.

Kade slapped the adhesive baradium charge to the side of the beast, then tried to jet backward. Something blurred in his peripheral vision and he felt a jarring sensation from right shoulder and down through his whole body as he was violently torn from the air and slammed against the ground, shoulder dislocated. The Vagh Rodiek raised a scythe above prone figure, ready to skewer Kade to the earth.

The charge detonated. Chitin shattered. The beast swayed.

Brent engaged the huge beast from afar, shooting blaster bolts at it as fast as he could without missing his target. Most if not all of his rounds found their mark, but they just weren't having an effect. Davon leapt forward forward and engaged one of the beasts close quarters, hacking away at it with he Beskad. Brent saw Varien caught nearly unawares as one of the huge creatures moved forward towards him, but the warrior kept his head and the beast was gifted with blaster round after blaster round that had it's armored skin smoking.

It tried to skewer Varien, and Brent saw him vanish beneath the huge mass of the thing; but the continual sound of blaster bolts from that direction gave him hope that the other Mando was fine. Regardless Brent sprinted forward and went to engage the same creature to help Varien and make sure he wasn't trapped or crushed.

He was closing the distance fast when he noticed Kade flying in at high speed in a very peculiar manner. Flying towards the beast...with his back towards the dirt craning his head trying to find his target. What in the kark Brent thought as he picked up speed as the other warrior flipped back over into a relative normal flight pattern. But Kade didn't turn his jetpack off until he was directly next to the thing. Brent saw him make contact and re-activate his jetpack and try to get some distance but he was violently knocked from the air and thrown towards the ground. Kade made contact with the ground hard and Brent didn't see him rise again as the big Vong moved towards him to finish him off.

Brent pushed himself and nearly tore his leg muscles from running so fast towards Kelborn's side. He saw the Vong creation lift up a leg to stab Kade as he lay on the ground but an explosion made it rethink that as its side was torn open from the blast and it backpedaled away from the wounded Mando. Brent came within range of Kade and shouldered his rifle and slid out a pistol. With his left hand he grabbed the other Mando's armor and began to drag him back one handed away from the wounded creature, his pistol on fully automatic spitting rounds at the big monster.

"You know Kade the point in battle is too not get hit," Brent said mock seriously as he dragged Kade around to a nearby tree for some quick cover, helping the other to get his bearings, "How bad are you hurt?"

And where was Varien at after that explosion, Brent thought as he scanned the firefight for signs of the other Mando.

Varien rolled back up to his feet.

One of the Mandalorians had elected to help him, or perhaps it had been the same one from earlier. He didn't know, as long as they weren't shooting at him suppose there wasn't any problem.

After he lit up the under side of the Rodiek, it had changed its course and was heading for [member="Kade Kelborn"]. He went after it, bolt after bolt striking the 'hind' legs of the creature to try and slow it down, chipping its chitinous armour as he drew closer to it until the charge not-Crixus the Warrior had placed on it blew up, causing it to sway. It looked as if it were hesitating, and he fired in the joint that connected that scythe to the rest of it's body until it came off.

A force aided leap carried the Kiffar onto the back of the beast as he forced both heavy blaster pistols into the hole in its side and he continued to fire. Absentmindedly using the Force to help with his balance on the back of the creature as it swayed again and then toppled over to the side, and tossed the would be Guardian off from the top of it and into the dirt.

The pirates slavers and mercs all started surrendering, few isolated pocket fought to the death. They started to round them all up, and bring them to center of town. This was where @sabine kotass was interrogating them, she knew they had an underground vault of sorts. She wanted to know where it was, Rodessa was unsure why it mattered so much to find it straight away. Though it did not matter to her either way, she was being paid and she was entitled to share in the spoils. This would cover the cost of one Sabine ships she wanted to buy, an eagle interceptor. It looked like nifty little beast, and she had a test flight in one. She really liked it, that added this knew armour she had be given it was sweet deal.

She looked at the armour stealth battery indicator, and realized her armour need a recharge. She head to one buildings, where she saw a few fellow vod doing the same recharging the belts up. She sat down and started talking to a few of them, on what they planned next.

She had got most of them to surrender her troops where recharging the stealth fields, her droids where taken down others. After all why spend good mandalorian blood cleaning out the trash, when you can use machine to clean up instead. She was stood with lot's pirate who surrender around her, she was trying to find one who new the entrance to warehouse below the city. It may have clues to something she was after, the rest she would divide up as spoils. Though she would not take it all, as to do so would make the locals bankrupt, and that was not something she was going to do. As that would make the survivors hate her, at the moment they just feared her and that is where she needed to keep it.

After awhile she decide to summon her Apprentice, Apprentice, I like you to interrogate some of our prisoners. This was so she could get experience trying to use mind trick, she found the location a little while ago. The entrance was in the command building, in cellar the was a lift down to base below.

The thralls body toppled away from her, its head rolling in an opposite direction. Mia had a brief reprise, glancing over the battlefield. Kade was down, being dragged to safety by Brent. One Rodiek went down, pieces of it scattering over them from the explosion. She spotted Davon, dangerously close to the second a wave of fury washed over her. She sprinted towards it, and jumped, coming to rest upon its back. She drove her beskad point down into its back, its armour allowing it only to penetrate a few inches as it screamed, a scythe like leg sweeping over her head in an attempt to dislodge her.

"Davon!" she yelled "Get clear!"

Using her beskad as an anchor, she held on as it bucked. Gritting her teeth she closed her eyes. They might have been dead to the force, but they were not dead to fire. The air began to warm around her and the beast as it appeared to light on fire. Mia wound the fire tightly about it, pushing the heat into the cracks in it's armour. the noise it made was deafening and she was grateful for the helmets ability to dull the sound out. Opening her eyes, her HUD was flashing several heat warnings at her and all she could see was the orange and yellow flame.

Something slammed into her, knocking the wind out and the fire stuttered for a moment. The beskad, the only thing stopping her from going flying. She righted herself, and restarted the inferno.

The commander seized her arm tugging her to oneside from the transport. "The ithorians are reluctant to let more troops land." he hissed at her, holding a hand up to the protest forming on Ava's lips. "Its out of my hands initiate. I can't give the order."

"But they need support!" Ava retorted.

"Aye, they do." he released her arm. "You have your orders, Initiate."

Ava watched him walk away, stunned for a change into silence. She cast her eyes towards the planet's surface, they needed help and she sure as hell couldn't stand by while they struggled. the commander knew she was insubordinate and reckless, perhaps that was why he pulled her to oneside to tell her. Unless....

A grin formed on her face and she bounced to the transport, the others had wandered away, the pilot leant against the hull, smoking a cigarette watching her approach. "Commander says we're not allowed to return."

He grinned at her. "So we're returning, right?"

She jumped on board and he followed suit.

****

Ten minutes later, the transports doors slid open above the battle and Ava's sniper picked off the stragglers as she scanned for her brothers, she spotted the next wave of Vong and cursed. Even with a sharp shot and a powerful Rifle, she was hard pressed to stop them. They needed more firepower. "Davon Karr," she called across the comms as they passed over the battle and her kin came into view.

"My name is Ava Lok, I'm the best you can get in terms of air support right now. Fire breathers are less than half a click, I can lay down cover fire for you, but you need to pull back."

Vanquo wasn't somewhere Mirshko had visited, even though she'd traveled a good portion of Mandalorian Clans' territory in her younger years. Now though, she was beginning to tr and stay closer to home. Especially after Syvris. She sighed softly and checked her PDW-M1 and her DX-2 as she moved into the mine. This was decidedly different from the mission she'd taken on Agamar, but she knew a Warrior must always be able to adapt to the situations they were presented with.

At that thought, she sighed slightly. She'd arrived here in much the same way Kima had, and for a moment she found herself lost in the sea of armor which was primarily Munin and Vizsla members. it took a moment of scanning for her to spot others. here and there she spotted a few members of Betna and Mereel. Chewing her bottom lip for a moment, she made her way towards the nearest Mandalorian in Betna colors. It happened to be Kima.

Well, at least it looked like Betna colors. Most if not all members of Betna that she'd seen tended to wear some combination of red and gold, though there were some exceptions to that. Mom for instance, wore purple and silver with the clan sigil painted on her shoulder. Mirshko shrugged slightly and tapped the young woman on the shoulder. She didn't even flinch from the blood covering Kima's armor. Not anymore. Her time among the pirates had somewhat desensitized her to it. Maybe it was a bad thing, maybe it wasn't. She didn't care either way.

She knew tapping someone on the shoulder might not have been the wisest move, so she spoke out over the clan's comm net. " 'cuy, I'm Mishko Betna. Figured you could use a hand here."

There was nothing that these pirates could do to stop the destruction, the rage, and the war of Vilaz and his clansmen. The Alor of Munin destroyed all the hope and the morale of the scum and replaced it with desperation and fear. The pirates were mere fools in mocking the Mandalorians and thinking that they were weak and embodiments like the New Mandalorians during the era of the Clone Wars. Perhaps the Mandalorians became a bit stagnant, but no more of that. This crusade would not only be a demonstration to the pirates, but everyone else in this realm that the Mandalorians are still one of the apex forces that knowledge knew of.

After the last shots were fired within the valley and the last pirates killed, the Vanguard of Clan Munin began to rally and regrouped to their chief. They would use this time to reload their weaponry for second wave that would doom and seal the fate of the pathetic enemy that had the courage to stand up to them. Admittedly, the Warrior admired their bravery, but they didn't prove to be a worthy opponent.

"Chief, reinforcements have come. We're heading your way," a Munin Warrior said to Vilaz via commlink.

"Better get your ass over here in a jiffy," the Redneck replied back which wasn't an order, but a statement that if they can't get here in time, then they'll be missing out.

The Munin took off his helmet and waited for Ra and his men to arrive at the sole entrance of the mine. He could see how angry and upset Ra's face was for losing the competition to the men and women of Clan Munin. Both clans acknowledged who the victor was, but Vilaz knew better than to rub it and bragged from it. While he had some bragging rights, he didn't really gloated at all. "Y'all fought well, Ra," the Warrior said to the Vizsla, complimenting the skills of Clan Vizsla that they showed right here on Vanquo.

The blond baar'ur listened thoughtfully to the next round of the conversation between the Ithorians and the Mandalorian Clan's delegation. It seemed their hosts were going to play hardball, or attempt anyway to stand by their convictions. Briika didn't begrudge them one bit to be honest. The Vratix were sly devils. She wouldn't want the insectoid species mucking around with her farm land either. There had to be another solution…

Briika took her cue from the princess when she asked the medic to talk about bacta and how meaningful the medical substance was to the Mandalorians.

"Well I'm not sure just how familiar you are with the miracle fluid as we refer to it, but in general bacta is a synthetic chemical substance consisting of gelatinous, translucent red alaxhi and kavam bacterial particles that are mixed with a colorless, vicious fluid know as ambori. The bacteria is either secreted or excreted by the Vratix. The latter is merely a suspension medium."

The Ithorians seemed interested in what Bree was saying so she continued.

"When a patient is exposed to bacta, whether through a medicated salve or dressing, an injection, consumption, or submerged in a bacta tank, the bacterial particles seek out wounds and promote rapid tissue regeneration while preventing secondary scar tissue. As you can see, this is very beneficial verses traditional treatments. Even Kolto, another medical substance, as good as it is, is not as effective or as easily used as bacta. Plus it is very costly, so much they basically put themselves out of business. Bacta is tolerated well with only rare cases of allergy or rejection, and may be used not only on humans, but over a wide cross-section of species, yours even," she said with an affirmative nod.

"Just the other day I treated a young boy who had been in a tragic farming accident on Mandalore as many of us are farmers at heart... If it wasn't for the bacta, he would be terribly disfigured and maimed. The Mandalorian Clans are very low on the life saving medicine, and it is being rationed as we speak. I would't be able to live with myself if I have had to tell the boy's family no. An adult, maybe, but not a child. Children are our precious future as I'm sure yours as well. We must seek out ways of making bacta and/or an equal or even better treatment modality to use."

Briika paused to collect herself and allow Draco his turn, then she chimed in about helping the Ithorians.

"MandalMedical could and would gladly provided the technology you would need, and any additional services. The Mandalorians as a whole are very willing and able to assist you in this endeavor and to help both our cultures flourish for the generations to come," she offered with a small, reassuring smile.

"Fire."

The Mandalorian scout had been watching the pirates set up their mortars on the eastern edge of the valley by a trickling ravine while his fellow warriors had been bloodying their teeth. He wanted to wait to see if the four tubes were the only ones the pirates had at their disposal. It seemed so and he didn't want to risk the enemy shelling the Mandalorian forces in the valley. To simply watch as their blood was poured directly on his hands for his inaction. So he ordered his scouts to set up their light mortar at the top of the blaster nest where they had commandeered a heavy repeating blaster.

One of the scouts had been peering through the mortar's scope and gave him a nod before she took the shell. She pulled off the safety and roughly slid it down the tube before it came back up with a soft 'pomf' sound. The heavy repeater let loose a string of bolts towards the mortars which did a better job of dispersing the gunners than killing them given the range. The shell had drifted off target and exploded above the heads of the clustered pirate reinforcements. There was a spatter of meat and red mist while the survivors dragged the wounded into cover.

"Hit!" reported one of the Rikat warriors with a chuckle behind his helmet.

"Fire three more. Same vector." barked Dariak as he got onto his comm. "Command elements, this is Talesa. We've scattered the mortar gunners but they might pick up their gear an' displaced. Firin' three airburst shells at the reinforcements. Do not close to engage until the last one hits. Times three airburst."

It appeared that Elpsis was running a little late! Well, at least she was fashionably late. That's what Auntie Siobhan would have said. That phrase had always sounded silly to the younger redhead. Anyhow, she was here now, wearing Siobhan's old beskar'gam. She was armed with guns, blade and pyromancy.

Judging by all the dead bodies, it seemed the Mandalorians had slaughtered plenty of pirates. Based on the chatter she heard from some of the seasoned, beskar-clad warriors, the corsairs had retreated into the mine, but the Mandalorians were preparing to attack it. Elpsis navigated a path through the sea of Munin and Vizsla members, searching for a familiar face. The only Mandalorian Clan she'd any direct interaction with were the Betnas. Her Force senses homed in on one Betna in particular...Mirshko.

Except, she looked very different now. Truth be told, if her significant Force Senses and empathy had not told Elpsis that this was in fact the girl she'd helped escape from the clutches of the evil Pirate Lord, she would have not recogised her. She was conversing with another female Betna warrior, whose armour was covered in blood. Due to her past as a smuggler and mercenary, Elpsis was quite desentised to such a sight.

So she headed over to them. "Uh, Mirshko, that you?" she asked a bit awkwardly. It was a bit difficult to say 'Hi, you looked...way younger a year ago! Did you drink an aging potion?' She glanced over to the other warrior. "I'm Elpsis. I'm a friend of the Betnas. Heard there's pirates to kill."

Interrogate prisoners? Cathul would be able to do that without using the Force, much less a mind trick. But she knew that's what her master wanted her to do. She has to concentrate on the target's thought nodes and modify their encoding as much as she would concentrate on an enemy's liver when using Force-alcohol spells. Her knowledge of physiology came in handy at a number of times, and not just for weaving that Force-alcohol spell. She would need a greater effort of concentration than she would to cast a Force-alcohol spell, which comes to her naturally. But when she finally has the courage to speak up, Cathul had a few questions for the drunk pirate. Or rather, instructions to give to the pirate. Cathul's sadistic fun was about to begin: whereas she has shown mostly restraint with the patients, this time around it was her time to enjoy imprinting her ideas onto their enemies.

"You will tell me whether there are other treasures hidden offworld"

"I will tell you whether there are other treasures hidden offworld"

"Tell me who are your clients for slaves"

"I will tell you who our clients for slaves are"

At this point she ceased using the mind trick. Now that she got the to fear her to the point the prisoner could talk, then she could ask the questions without having to resort to it.

"Where are those offworld treasures? Where are your clients?"

"Our offworld treasures are on Jabiim. Hurry up; the Silvers are after it too. As for the clients, they are awaiting the slaved on Kadavo"

Get clear? Easier said than done. One of the claws hissed through the air over his head. He had to spring back up and leap aside as another came down and stabbed deep into the earth where he had been. Power armour kept him going as his stamina started to fade.

It had other benefits. As he planted on his right leg he brought his beskad arcing over from his right and down on his left. This time he caught a joint and severed the limb. It gave him room to back away as Mia started the pyrotechnics.

Davon had little trust in the Force. People who could read and influence minds with the wave of a hand unnerved him. Losing his free will put a few in him that no physical danger ever could.

Recovering his rifle, he replied to Ava: "Where has our transport gone damnit?"

Davon switched to the local channel, talking to those on the ground around him. "We've got armour equivalents 'fire breathers' coming in. Need to fall back and let whatever air support we can gather deal with them or get around. Unless anyone has any weaponry to deal with heavy armour?"

Unlikely unless anyone had a turbolaser or proton torpedo in their pockets. They didn't have time for this, needed to get to the Herdship and rescue the survivors. Damn stubborn Ithorians looking after their forests with a religious fervour.

Ra snorted as he walked by Vilaz.
He was right.
He never would hear the end of this.
"Here, here, and here." Ra bellowed, pointing at the various entrances to the mines on a holomap that had been constructed in the middle of the war camp at the base of the valley. "Clan Vilaz will flank the left entrance, which should drop them into the main cavern first. Bloodshot will lead Malcolm and Dariak's war parties on a flank to the right, coming below the main cavern. Watch your steps down there, these mine shafts are ancient. They'll get narrow, so we'll need to rank single file."

He walked up to Bloodshot and Dariak.

"And there's been reports of noxious, flammable fumes below the tunnels so we'll need to resort to melee weapons. NO DISINTEGRATIONS." He looked at Bloodshot.

"We want these mines intact," Ra bellowed to the rest of the Clans nearby. "And we will deliver their riches to Mandalore."

"Clan Vizsla will push the center. We begin the siege in half an hour. Ready your men," Ra continued. "We march in thirty."

Ra Vizsla said:

Malcolm was astounded that the Mand'alor knew who he was. That mere fact made him stand straighter and made the small amount of fatigue that had built up in the small of his back and base of his neck loosen. He nodded, and made sure that his armor was in working order, then racked his rifle with the supplies. It was battlefield spoil, but a fairly standard rifle. He went to the melee weapons rack and grabbed a pair of short steel staves. Malcolm wasn't as proficient at melee combat as he was at ranged, but what he was good with were staves.

As he moved back to his place in line, he tested the weight and balance of the staves. This would be an intense fight, one he was looking forward to.

"Fine." The thought of taking orders, even from the Mand'alor himself, made Bloodshot bristle inside, but it was clear the man knew how to handle his soldiers. Putting him in command of the right flank had taken the edge off for the umbaran warrior, and while his acknowledgment of the order wasn't exactly regulation, it was a far tamer response than most others would have received. To be honest, the white-haired warrior was actually beginning to gain his respect.

Turning to the warriors that had been assigned to him, he activated his helmet's external speakers to address them. "You heard the man. No blasters or slugthrowers in the caves, and keep line of sight on the group. Comms aren't going to be worth poodoo in there, and you'll need thermal or UV once we cut the lights. If anyone has verpine weapons, now's the time to use 'em. Line starts behind me." With that, he turned and sprinted toward the lower mine entrance, his rifle clattering down to the bottom of the valley as he tossed it over the side. He was one of the likely very few number of vod that wouldn't actually need any visual assistance once the lights were cut, and he very much preferred fighting in the darkness of a cavern to the wide open brilliance of the outdoors. There was little resistance the first thirty meters into the cavern, and honestly he didn't expect much until it began to narrow more significantly.

If they were smart, they'd be preparing an ambush at the point just after it widens again, allowing them to apply four or five men to each mando that pushed through the gap, even without the use of blasters. In all honesty though, he wasn't particularly optimistic about the chance of seeing good tactics. Unfortunately, the tunnel not only narrowed horizontally the further they went, but also vertically, forcing the 2 meter tall Umbaran to crouch in order to fit, holding his confiscated axe out in front as he edged along through the mine, smashing every light he encountered. They could always put new ones in later.

When they did finally reach a widening point, he was surprised to find that they had, in fact, left behind a rear-guard to deal with the mandalorian incursion. He smiled as he smashed the last light before said tunnel expansion, watching the nervous looks on the pirates faces at the sight of the huge figure in bloodstained armor emerging from the blackness, with an untold number of friends at his back. As soon as he was through and able to stand to his full height again, they rushed at him, weapons raised to strike and faces contorted in cries of rage and anger. He met the first with a kick that sent him flying into his brethren, and brought the axe down hard on the skull of the second. "Have at 'em, vod!"

This was definitely going to be a good day.

Kade shook head to clear fuzzy thoughts. Lights swam in vision and he found tongue heavy. He grunted, shifting, struggling to rise and fend off Warnel's grasp on armor. Sharp pain seared up arm from shoulder's socket and he nearly blacked out. Kelborn hissed from between clenched teeth, seized arm and pushed. The shoulder snapped back into the socket with a pop to make spine shiver.

White filled Kelborn's vision and he found himself thankful for helm, beneath which stood tears.

"Just a scratch," came the rasping growl, "Come, let us rejoin fray."
